2000i Series

I have a Philips 2000i air purifier that I really like, I have bad allergies and I would say it helps with that, and also helps with smell in my room (it's right next to a cat litter box lol) I've had it for 1.5 years running continuously pretty much, and it's still going strong, app control is decent (sometimes takes a few seconds extra to load) and it has multiple functions that means it isn't too noisy when you don't want it to be. Only slight complaint would probably be that it's quite large and I can't move it from room to room, so I've been thinking about getting another smaller one It's not super cheap unfortunately but hopefully a first hand review is helpful 😅

I’ m in the EUmarket, so can’ t recommend types. But you mention you live in a very old apartement - is there no option to move somewhere else? Seems like the child gets sick from the place? Anyhow, I bought one for my bedroom and one for the kitchen/hallway. Chose HEPA and active coal filter. I chose types that covered more m2 than the actual rooms after reading reviews. And I looked at decibel levels. In my country (Norway) the national allergy organization says air purifiers doesn’ t really work that well for allergies. Meaning, air purifiers will be better than nothing - but it won’ t help it the apartment is the problem. Old should not mean more dust, so have you also checked for possible mold? I do not see a significant reduction in dust on the floors before/after air purifier, but due to the noise I only use them when needed (for my purpose: smell).

Oh, you just meant it was buildt long ago - in Norway where I’ m from that is often a positive thing as older buildings has natural airflow (? Sorry bad english) while new with central aircontrol often gives more allergies. I lived in a 2012 building and liked it - but - when we moves to a 1950 building my headaches actually decreased 🤷‍♀️ And we had SO much more dust build up due to the central system. I thought you meant very low quality building with lot’ s of issues with «old dusty» stuff and general bad condition. Well: pick larger area than what you need to cover - make sure it’ s true HEPA and active coal for smells :) I bought smartami 1, and philips 2000?series. They both have a sleep mode. I payed 400 USD for both, Philips was on sale.

One is a generic Chinese brand and the other is kinda reputed I personally use Philips one and it’s being going good. Philips ones also have a PM2.5 display

We have 2 Philips 3000 series. Filters last about 3 years ( really). Ideal for big rooms and allergies like mine. Unfortunately they stopped producing these. The next gen are smaller but also with 1 year filters.
