I'm a huge fan of my rabbit air filter. Expensive but worth it IMO.
I have Rabbit air and an LG Puri-care 360 dual filter air purifier for my stand-alone units and installed into the HVAC, the phenomenal aire and air scrubber plus. I use 3m filtrete premium allergen and ultra fine particle filters in the air intakes changed every 3 months. I also run the Frigidaire gallery dehumidifier with the pure air dehumidifier filters and keep the humidity in my home very low. My shark hepa vacuum (which is always emptied into the trash away from and outside of the house) helps greatly, too. Mold sucks. It sucks so bad. After an apartment ruined my life 12 years ago when it permanently changed my life and ruined my health, and forced me to replace all of my belongings, I wasn't messing around with moisture, mold or bad indoor air quality ever again in a home. Recovering is physically and mentally like clawing back from the dead. 💀
My experience is that levoit units seem good at first but quickly start making strange high pitched noises or rattling sounds. I've tried a few different ones. I tried working with their support a few times and even had replacement units sent. Same issue started again within a couple months. They aren't that great and I wouldn't recommend them. I got a rabbit air which was costly but actually works and traps a ton of dust.
Austin air will legit last a lifetime but it’s a tad loud (which I like in the bedroom). A rabbit air is almost as good but quieter
The parrot rescue I volunteered for always used Rabbit Air purifiers, so I bought a few for my home. They work great and I’ve had zero problems with them for over 5 years now. Make sure you clean the filters regularly.
We’ve had a Rabbit Air A3 for 3 1/2 years, great unit. Would consider this again. Just purchased a Lichen Air, decided on this unit for the dual Hepa 14 filters and its direct approach to clean air. It doesn’t have app control, responsive customer service. Very quiet, so far so good.
No, we have a Rabbit A3, I do run the ionizer as well as a Lichen Air. Like both, clean, pet free, smoke free home, I’m retired and enjoy cleaning, it’s amazing on what the purifiers pick up. I run both on auto, kick them up to high while cleaning, lol.
Purchased a Rabbit Air A3. I love it, would purchase again but it made no difference in our allergies or congestion. What is surprising is that in our no pet, no smoke, no kids, two adult house the amount of stuff that gets collected on the pre filter!
We purchased a Rabbit Air A3. I feel it’s doing its job, the pre filter does look dusty after three months but I haven’t noticed any change with my allergies. I think that most who say it’s been an amazing change are just saying that to make themselves feel better about their expensive purchase.
Rabbit Air A3 or Lichen Air, I have both and like both equally well
Rabbit Air A3 and a Lichen Air, would purchase both again
Don’t expect a marked reduction in allergy symptoms, we have two, a Rabbit Air 3 and a Lichen Air. We have an April Air Media Filter on our HVAC system. We don’t open windows when it’s windy, even breezy and still have allergy symptoms!
its not the allergy relief, not the difference the manufacturers say it is. Sure they help but if you’re on allergy medication you’ll still be on allergy medication.
Rabbit Air or Lichen Air. They really don’t do that well with dust, they do remove the smaller particles that get past your lungs and get into your bloodstream. We’ve had the Rabbit Air for almost 4 years, no issue, app connectivity, amazing customer service. Lichen Air about two months, two large Hepa 14 filters, no app connectivity, I feel it’s simpler but moves an amazing amount of air, wouldn’t go wrong with either.
Have some executives that smoke in their offices. We installed one (or two) Rabbit air purifiers in each office...they worked surprisingly well. Everyone nearby thought one of them stopped smoking. Bonus is that they are super quiet also. [https://www.rabbitair.com/](https://www.rabbitair.com/)
I’ve got a question for you! I have a bunch of Rabbit Airs (A2 and A3). They’re phenomenal, but expensive as hell. I’ve used some of the Levoits (mostly the smaller canister shaped ones) and I can tell they do not come close to the RAs. Is there anything you’d recommend below $300 that can match or outperform the A2 or A3? I’m trying to get one large unit for my girlfriend’s place (allergies are KILLING me!!). I’ve been doing a ton of reading and it’s overwhelming. I get nervous spending that kind of money without knowing what exactly I’ll end up getting quality wise. Edit: Wanted to add I’m open to used and buying new filters if there’s a badass model that sells cheaply used online or on eBay!
