Based on 1 year's data from Feb 15, 2026 How it works
Fair. I've been very happy with the sub-200 Rabbit Air BioSpa GS I got used on Ebay, it's held up very nicely.
My Rabbit Air BioGS has been working well for 15+ years now
Seconding Rabbit Air. I have a Minus A2 with a VOC filter package that I need to vacuum weekly as it becomes caked with dog hair. I also have their entry level BioGS that’s now 18 years old and works flawlessly. They have excellent customer service too. I also have a Coway Amega, which works just fine in my little foyer, but it’s not as impressive as the Rabbit minus A2.
RabbitAir BioGS is personal favourite.
Absolutely, very quiet on its lower settings.
RabbitAir is the only way. Ignore everyone else.
See if you can find a RabbitAir unit. Anything designed as a "smoke eater" will also be able to scrub the smell from your room while it's being occupied
Never had a problem, just rotate the filters at the recommended intervals. I think it's about every six months, I know some models say three years with regular use. It's not a smart machine that can integrate with HA, but I swear the BioGS air quality sniffer knows I'm going to fart before I do. I have it set to auto modulate the speed when it detects low air quality so it'll go from a whisper to a jet taking off for a minute as it scrubs the air. Newer ones of their base model run about $300, and the ~$700 wall mounted units are their most serious "I put this in my cigar room" level
Rabbit Air or Lichen Air. They really don’t do that well with dust, they do remove the smaller particles that get past your lungs and get into your bloodstream. We’ve had the Rabbit Air for almost 4 years, no issue, app connectivity, amazing customer service. Lichen Air about two months, two large Hepa 14 filters, no app connectivity, I feel it’s simpler but moves an amazing amount of air, wouldn’t go wrong with either.
An air purifier may help rid the air of biological contamination from the urine, but I don't know how well it will address the odor if it's too strong. My recommendations based on personal experience with Air Purifiers (though not specifically for urine) would be BlueAir purifiers and RabbitAir (if you have the money). RabbitAir stopped d@mn near all allergies in my house, and it tends to be used in cigar shops. In fact, call a cigar shop and see what they use. I didn't know they used purifiers until a coworker said it. 🤷🏻♀️ Either way, I highly recommend Woolite Advanced Pet Stain Remover Spray. Use it whenever/wherever incontinence has occurred, along with any other cleaning routine. It may seem weird, but I used it when I started potty training one of my kids. My daughter had undies on, but would still pee everywhere. She wouldn't exactly tell me that, of course. I'd run across random wet spots throughout the house 😒. I'd use the Woolite to immediately address the spot and put a little pad over it to mark the spot until it dried. It sanitizes and it smells pretty good. I also like the Febreze Sanitizing Spray. Not the other ones, just the Febreze SANITIZING spray with an Orange cap. It has a good scent. Hopefully you find what you need and can maybe convince FIL to at least use a portable urinal when he feels the urge. My dad doesn't have dementia, but he's old enough to find the bathroom process too overwhelming for him. He has found a bedside urinal to be quite helpful to him. Just a thought!
Funnily enough the brand I like the best ($$) is called RabbitAir. A bunch of years ago I spent a long time researching and this one seemed the best. I still have the original ones I bought, they last well and function very well. Yearly filter replacement for about $100. For my office I got a Coway after learning they manufature some of the filters for RabbitAir (box said coway on it when the new ones arrived). It works well. I also learned that Korea is a mecca for clean air knowledge and remedies, and most of the best ones are manufactured there.
I have a RabbitAir and I love it, the amount of dust that thing collects is impressive and I have a dog and a cat.
