I got a fairly small apartment with 2 bedrooms upstairs and a small basement and I got a Winix T830 in my living room/kitchen area(with my setup basically in-between the 2) a Winix C535 in my kids room a Shark Compact Never change in my room and a Shark Hp100 in the basement. I'd say it's definitely not overkill lol. I've definitely preferred the Winix over Shark

If that isn't already a ear purifier with a HIPA filter I wouldn't recommend getting one that also takes VOCs out of the air like a shark air purifier from Walmart or order one off in shark website It'll also help with wildfire smoke etc.

I bought a shark air purifier in 2023 when all that wildfire smoke hit the first time and it's done a good job with the wildfire smoke and everything including VOCs. But it's not the never change filter. It's the 102

Look into getting the Shark clean sense IQ air purifiers. The model for a 500 Sq ft room is only $150 on Amazon right now. I have one and it gets rid of odors, dust particles, and other nonsense pretty quickly. I've had it for about a year now and didn't even need to buy a new filter for it yet.

I have a large shark and then some smaller ones around my apartment. The previous tenant had cats and there was SO much cat dander even after hiring deep cleaners TWICE! My son is highly allergic to animals and his eyes will swell shut and he will be sick for weeks. So I got these and ran them for a week before he came to visit, he had no problems. I swear by air purifiers, especially for people with allergies and asthma.

I bought one. Not so sure it works. The light ring that indicates a change in air quality does change when I cook. I’m in an apartment. The unit is in my living room. But it takes a good 40 min to an hour to get back to 100 %. I would think that’s just the natural time of the air clearing. No help from the unit. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also I just put it in the bathroom w my bf while he poops. No change in the air reading or smell of the bathroom. After this test I am returning.

I have two Shark ones too, I'm happy with them. One is also near my cat's litter box, mainly because I'm super paranoid about my house smelling for guests. I've visited too many homes over the years that look clean, but are definitely smelly. I know when you're the one living there, you don't even notice it. Just a recommendation as a fellow cat owner though, I switched to pine pellets a year and a half ago and there is almost NO smell from the litter box, it really absorbs the urine. Added bonus there's no dust like with clay ones (I don't trust the even the ones that claim they are "dust free". I use this brand: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/feline-pine-cat-litter?srsltid=AfmBOorIHcL_YhTcQId9bj7qgmBmG-vFBd88---gl8sP_gKCQjoiPhx_ A 40 pound bag lasts me around 3.5 months with one cat.
