"My youngest son (27) and his girlfriend are huge cannibis users and have cats. I got him a Shark 6-fan air purifier a few years ago, and then get him a new filter every Christmas, it's become our running gag. That thing is absolutely caked with crap when it gets changed."

garion333 1.0I have a Levoit Vital 200S downstairs and it's been okay. I like that it's a connected device as I can turn it up or down when the kids have friends over. ;) Our main purifier is a Shark HE601. I don't recommend it as the filters are super expensive and the sensor is junk. I don't believe it's in production any longer, but I won't be looking at Shark when we go to replace it. Neither are expected to be BIFL. You have to up your price range for BIFL air purifiers, IMHO.

No mine is the standard model, but I have been eyeing the "forever filter" model since I moved out of an apartment and into a house to add a second purifier. The standard filters need replacing around every 6 months depending on the environment and the fan setting you run the unit on.

Empty-Knowledge2869 0.1Shark has never change filter air purifiers on their clean sense IQ models now and they have built in air quality sensors and auto mode which is economical as it only turns on the fan when it senses something in the air. Also it has a button to switch between air quality views and show you what (PM 10, PM .5, PM 1) is fouling up the air quality. Also shows time to clean air and percentage of the air that's clean. I have two of them. I also have two of the Vornado AC350's. Their filter replacement are reasonable and the carbon filter can be easily upgraded on Amazon for a reasonable price.

We have two shark air purifiers with hepa filters, looks like it’s 120$ right now online. (So you can possibly get two depending how your house is set up) Those two are on our downstairs level one in the basement where the box is and one on the main level. They’re very quiet I never hear them, run them 24/7 with no issues. Our third is a dyson, honestly it was a gift i wouldn’t spend money on it 🤣 id stick with the sharks lol

amphetaminesfailure 0.1I have two Shark ones too, I'm happy with them. One is also near my cat's litter box, mainly because I'm super paranoid about my house smelling for guests. I've visited too many homes over the years that look clean, but are definitely smelly. I know when you're the one living there, you don't even notice it. Just a recommendation as a fellow cat owner though, I switched to pine pellets a year and a half ago and there is almost NO smell from the litter box, it really absorbs the urine. Added bonus there's no dust like with clay ones (I don't trust the even the ones that claim they are "dust free".
