"I’ve wanted to become a “windows shut” apartment for a while, but whenever I would try it, I always found the apartment getting too stuffy. Now though after I put two Alen 45i units on opposite sides of my (large) living room/dining area, and one in the bedroom, the air now feels breathable and not at all stuffy when all the windows are closed."
"My college age son has allergies and always wakes up feeling crappy, he said he actually felt good this morning."

"Also I just put it in the bathroom w my bf while he poops. No change in the air reading or smell of the bathroom."
"Just stay away from the Honeywell HPA models. They all develop a burning smell. I've swapped my 2 out a total of 6 times."
"They’ve massively oversold how large of a space this device is suited for. ... I found it did nothing for odors. ... There is basically no carbon filter in this so it won’t filter odors at all… ... Correct. I wish I had realized that before I bought it but oh well. The carbon sheet is advertised to make one think it will help with odors. Live and learn"

""NeverChange" with "up to 5 years use" is purely a marketing gimmick. ... [The owner's manual for the HP150 series] states this is "based on 50% CADR declined, 135 sq. ft. cleaning area and 12 hours daily operation on MAX fan speed." ... [The infographic on the model HP152 product page] is different, claiming the cleaning area is "300 sq. ft." ... Either way, that's much smaller than the 650 sq. ft. rating. ... And obviously any mechanical filter's lifespan depends on pollutant concentrations."

"My Eufy X8 died a death"
"99% of first gen and second gen eventually become faulty after 1 year. ... I had 4 Mila, they all died the same way, replacement had the same fate, I gave up and threw all 4 of them away."

"I tried it and returned it. I wanted to use its auto mode. But it doesn't seem to ever turn on by itself. Since that's the primary reason I wanted that model, it just didn't work out."
"Sensors read poor air quality all the time so the unit was running non stop."

"I bought a shark air purifier a few years ago and it was always at 100%"
I bought one. Not so sure it works. The light ring that indicates a change in air quality does change when I cook. I’m in an apartment. The unit is in my living room. But it takes a good 40 min to an hour to get back to 100 %. I would think that’s just the natural time of the air clearing. No help from the unit. 🤷🏻♀️ Also I just put it in the bathroom w my bf while he poops. No change in the air reading or smell of the bathroom. After this test I am returning.
r/AirPurifiers • Shark Never change Air purifier ->I have one and I love it! I have two sick people in my house with a cold. It’s been kicking on a lot lately because it detects bacteria and viruses in the air. 🦠
r/Costco • Shark air purifier.. good? bad? ->I just bought a Shark air purifier and it’s near the kitchen. No more food smells lingering in the kitchen. It does NOT like sauerkraut, burnt eggs or fried tortillas 😆
r/AirPurifiers • Can anyone convince me that airpurifierers are not a uneccessary waste of money ->Clears the air way faster and better than my Dyson. It’s a workhorse.
r/Costco • Shark air purifier.. good? bad? ->I've had 2 Levoit air purifiers and recently bought the new Shark Ninja one that doesn't require filters. They are all awesome at helping me breathe and keeps the dust and cat hair under control.
r/homeowners • What's your best strategy for controlling dust in a large house with pets? ->there are 2 filter, it has pre-filters on the outside that can be washed and inside is a typical air filter cartridge. The idea is the outer pre-filters catch most the debris and can be washed off, saving the inner hepa. But no, it’s not actually never-change, you will eventually have to replace the hepa, I think they say 5 yrs but all depends on
r/Costco • Shark air purifier.. good? bad? ->FYI: the fan on the microwave can still help, there is usually a carbon filter that will need periodic replacement. I just placed a Coway 400s next to my 3D printer. The carbon filter definitely helps when I am printing ABS filament. I also have some older 6 fan Shark towers that are now discontinued. They don’t have carbon filters, but still helped a great deal when cooking. For my Cuisinart electric grill, I have a smaller Shark cylinder next to it. When I grill salmon it quickly goes into low air quality (red) mode. The other units on the first floor (two Shark 6 fan towers) also go red and max filtration. Bottom line is that I find air filtration works well, but it does take some time to exchange enough air to reduce the cooking odors. Maybe a half hour with 2 large and one small unit running in auto mode. I think that two well placed Coways would probably exchange enough air to eliminate the odors fairly quickly. Put a smaller unit in the kitchen on the countertop near the stove for even more air exchange.
r/AirPurifiers • Recommendations for purifiers - Coway (question in comments) ->I picked up[ ](https://cosmiccactus706.github.io/website/Shark-Navigator-HE601.html)[this purifier](https://cosmiccactus706.github.io/website/Shark-Navigator-HE601.html) at Costco. it’s quiet and handles my allergies well.
r/Costco • Shark air purifier.. good? bad? ->I have this model. It advertises as lasting 5 years between changes, but I think that is inaccurate because each environment is different. I think mine will need yearly or bi-yearly changes.
r/Costco • Shark air purifier.. good? bad? ->We've had ours for a few months. We keep it on auto, and don't use the fragrance thing. The purifier kicks on when we are cooking. It's nice and quiet.
r/Costco • Shark air purifier.. good? bad? ->I have one and love it. I keep it running constantly. Every now and then it will turn itself off and I have to spray off the filters on the sides and then it goes right back to work. I have 2 dogs and there’s a noticeable improvement in pet smell. I’m not sure where to get replacement air fresheners for it though. I definitely recommend one of these, especially if it’s discounted
