GFFFFR 1.0I got a fairly small apartment with 2 bedrooms upstairs and a small basement and I got a Winix T830 in my living room/kitchen area(with my setup basically in-between the 2) a Winix C535 in my kids room a Shark Compact Never change in my room and a Shark Hp100 in the basement. I'd say it's definitely not overkill lol. I've definitely preferred the Winix over Shark

yikesnahalf 1.0Honestly? Air purifier! We got one a month ago and it’s amazing. Doesn’t even smell like clean litter, let alone dirty cat litter. We got the shark never change compact one.
Quirky_Ebb_7335 0.6I have a large shark and then some smaller ones around my apartment. The previous tenant had cats and there was SO much cat dander even after hiring deep cleaners TWICE! My son is highly allergic to animals and his eyes will swell shut and he will be sick for weeks. So I got these and ran them for a week before he came to visit, he had no problems. I swear by air purifiers, especially for people with allergies and asthma.

The 5 year filter change really attracted me but after reading here a little more I might need to change it more frequently. I also tried the blue air for my office but didn't like it, I didn't feel any difference and it was noisy, I returned it and got the smaller shark never change .

collegestudent2105 0.2Depends on what your expectations are. The Shark Neverchange is fine as far as purifiers go, people on this sub are obsessed with Coway and Winix so you won’t get many other suggestions outside of that. Air purifiers are essentially a fan with a filter, the neverchange has pre filters to protect the hepa filter. The hepa filter in that machine also has an included “pre filter” wrapped around the actual hepa filter. The filter will undoubtedly last longer than one without or with partial “pre filters”, just maybe not 5 years. For the space you’re looking to cover I’d recommend 2 purifiers or using the neverchange on med-high permanently (avoid auto).
okfishko 0.2You sound like us when we went shopping for Air Purifiers. It can be overwhelming. We have a single story (2700 sq ft) with 5 humans and 2 large dogs (GSD and Lab). We ended up with Shark Neverchange for kitchen/dining, IQAir for Family/Living Room (2 fireplaces), Blue Air small units for bedrooms, Winix for office, Dyson for Master Bedroom, and Trio for hallway. Got all of them except IQAir from Costco with prices that can’t be beat. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. What are your priorities? Do you want all the bells and whistles like app control? Feel free to share and will try to share our experience :)
Have a GSD and a Lab/GSD mix so I can feel your pain :). Are you looking to purify just one space in the house or multiple spaces? That should be a factor in your decision. FWIW, we have a Shark NeverChage, a Winix C-610, and an IQAir Atem in our living/kitchen space of about 1400 sq ft. Shark runs 24/7 and sits closer to kitchen. Winix sits next to GSD crate and runs on Turbo mode for 2-3 hours daily. IQAir sits behind the couch, next to other crate, and runs as needed. Those 3 work together to keep our air best and free of pet odors.

Really like our Shark Never Change. The big hepa filter lasts multiple years due to the washable pre-filters. The thing just sits on “auto” 24/7 and has gotten us through 2 wildfire seasons with great results.
