"Also I just put it in the bathroom w my bf while he poops. No change in the air reading or smell of the bathroom."
"According to Shark, my air quality is a perfect 100% ALL DAY LONG. Even when: - My elderly Akita wanders by shedding fur like it's his job (and also pooting pretty non-stop) - I deliberately sprayed Lysol directly in front of it (for science!) ... The Shark? "100% perfect air, nothing to see here!" 🙄 ... But because it thinks the air is always fantastic, when I put it on auto/Eco mode, the higher fan rate is never triggered. ... It turned bright red, and said that the air would be clean again unless 60 minutes. It was back to 100 within a minute or two."
"I ordered 4 of these things and ALL of them sat off all day and night saying the air was perfect. ... All 4 of them did the same thing and would rarely come on."

""NeverChange" with "up to 5 years use" is purely a marketing gimmick. ... [The owner's manual for the HP150 series] states this is "based on 50% CADR declined, 135 sq. ft. cleaning area and 12 hours daily operation on MAX fan speed." ... [The infographic on the model HP152 product page] is different, claiming the cleaning area is "300 sq. ft." ... Either way, that's much smaller than the 650 sq. ft. rating. ... And obviously any mechanical filter's lifespan depends on pollutant concentrations."

"It's no wonder the filters last for 5 years, the thing never runs. ... They are not "purifying the air" if they are not moving the air through the filters."

"My Eufy X8 died a death"
"99% of first gen and second gen eventually become faulty after 1 year. ... I had 4 Mila, they all died the same way, replacement had the same fate, I gave up and threw all 4 of them away."

"I tried it and returned it. I wanted to use its auto mode. But it doesn't seem to ever turn on by itself. Since that's the primary reason I wanted that model, it just didn't work out."
"Sensors read poor air quality all the time so the unit was running non stop."
I had a Levoit and bought this [one](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F1GYQV33?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share), AMAZING! So worth it.
Sorry I can see how what I wrote is confusing. Yes… I replaced my Levoit and the Shark one is amazing.
Honestly? Air purifier! We got one a month ago and it’s amazing. Doesn’t even smell like clean litter, let alone dirty cat litter. We got the shark never change compact one.
I have a large shark and then some smaller ones around my apartment. The previous tenant had cats and there was SO much cat dander even after hiring deep cleaners TWICE! My son is highly allergic to animals and his eyes will swell shut and he will be sick for weeks. So I got these and ran them for a week before he came to visit, he had no problems. I swear by air purifiers, especially for people with allergies and asthma.
I bought the shark never change as my first purifier just recently and I feel the difference with my allergies. The 5 year filter change really attracted me but after reading here a little more I might need to change it more frequently. I also tried the blue air for my office but didn't like it, I didn't feel any difference and it was noisy, I returned it and got the smaller shark never change .

Depends on what your expectations are. The Shark Neverchange is fine as far as purifiers go, people on this sub are obsessed with Coway and Winix so you won’t get many other suggestions outside of that. Air purifiers are essentially a fan with a filter, the neverchange has pre filters to protect the hepa filter. The hepa filter in that machine also has an included “pre filter” wrapped around the actual hepa filter. The filter will undoubtedly last longer than one without or with partial “pre filters”, just maybe not 5 years. For the space you’re looking to cover I’d recommend 2 purifiers or using the neverchange on med-high permanently (avoid auto).
You sound like us when we went shopping for Air Purifiers. It can be overwhelming. We have a single story (2700 sq ft) with 5 humans and 2 large dogs (GSD and Lab). We ended up with Shark Neverchange for kitchen/dining, IQAir for Family/Living Room (2 fireplaces), Blue Air small units for bedrooms, Winix for office, Dyson for Master Bedroom, and Trio for hallway. Got all of them except IQAir from Costco with prices that can’t be beat. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. What are your priorities? Do you want all the bells and whistles like app control? Feel free to share and will try to share our experience :)
I just started havung cat allergies. Would wake up im the morning with my face. completely swollen, lips so swollwn they were cracked and bleeding. My cat does not sleep with me. I got a Shark Neverchange Pet Pro Air Purifier. Also Allergy dry shampoo for the cat. The face swelling improved by 75% in just a few days.
I really like my Shark never change filters. They’re really quiet and pick up on air quality changes super quick. Easy clean
I would say levoit USED to be good in my experience. We have a several year old filter and it’s still going strong with no issues. We’ve since bought 4 or 5 different filters and they have all had the motor burn out in less than a year, most of them in just a few months. We recently went with a shark “never change” and although it sounds super gimmicky, it’s actually working really really well and no motor issues so far but it’s only been a couple of weeks.
Same! Felt my allergies starting to kick up again and for some reason, it's always worse in our bedroom and at night and my shark purifier verified it. But more importantly, since I have had it running, my allergy attack subsided way way faster than it normally does.
Just got the shark never change and it's pretty quiet even on its highest setting (like a low fan). It's only on the highest setting when air quality isn't the best. If I keep it running all day and night, it's usually whisper quiet at night since it already cleaned the air during the day.
