I have allergies too and personally I got a Teqoya T200. It’s been working really well and helps a lot with dust and pollen.

Yeah, lots of people recommend HEPA filters. They're not the only option that works if you have a decent budget though. There are brands like Teqoya that make filterless or electrostatic filter purifiers - I had one in my previous apartment and was happy with it.
