"According to Shark, my air quality is a perfect 100% ALL DAY LONG. Even when: - My elderly Akita wanders by shedding fur like it's his job (and also pooting pretty non-stop) - I deliberately sprayed Lysol directly in front of it (for science!) ... The Shark? "100% perfect air, nothing to see here!" 🙄 ... But because it thinks the air is always fantastic, when I put it on auto/Eco mode, the higher fan rate is never triggered. ... It turned bright red, and said that the air would be clean again unless 60 minutes. It was back to 100 within a minute or two."

Air purifiers can definitely help with allergies by filtering out dust, pollen, and other irritants from the air. The key is to get one with a True HEPA filter though. I have t[his one from Xiaomi](https://amzn.to/43IEKFX) and am very happy with it. If money isn't a problem you could go with the Dyson ones

r/japanresidents • Air humidifier and purifier frustrations - Any recommendations? ->I'm have the following purifiers for my family of 5. Phillips 2887 and 1215. Mi Purifiers 2, 3 and 4. Coway Airmega 150 and Qubo 1000C. Not sure about replacing filters every 3 months. We clean it once a fortnight or month depending on the pollution. Mi and Qubo give filter replacement alarms. They say 9000 hours to 15000 hours. So not sure how you came up with 3 months. 90 days x 24 hours is about 2k hours of filter use only. I've placed the Phillips 1215 in the kitchen to reduce pollution in the rest of the house. I didn't think much about Co2 but will see if I can monitor. I counter room cooling with a oil based heater since it doesn't alter the room humidity unlike convection based heaters.

Kalo menurutku ga perlu beli yang mahal, 4 compact atau 4 lite udah bagus, kalo nanti ada duit lagi, beli lagi yang murah. Lebih baik punya 2 yang murah daripada 1 yang mahal. Tapi ga mungkin sampai gaada bulu yang terbang sama sekali, mustahil sih. Combo yang paling top tambahin lagi robot vacuum, jalanin 3x sehari.

r/CleaningTips • I thought my house was clean… until I opened my air purifier ->For reference, I bought the top of the line IQ Air purifier last year on sale from Firster.com in Bangkok for 55,000 baht. It’s the size of a portable air conditioner, big, but easy to move around as it’s on wheels. The bottom basic filter will need to be replaced soon. The light for it is yellow. When it turns red I have to replace it. Just bought one and it was about 4,200 baht from the Thailand IQ Air store online. I was able to extend the life of the bottom one by removing it and vacuuming it. I didn’t use it during rainy season much, but otherwise use it a lot. The other filters still show green light, so don’t need to be replaced yet. It’s expensive, but I look at it as my health insurance, which I can’t afford at my age. It’s not very noisy unless cranked up high. I also have the smallest Xiaomi for traveling when the air is bad. It fits in a suitcase. Works great for 2.5. I also have the IKEA air monitor. Works great. I am missing rainy season when I could open everything up and listen to the birds. Looking forward to rain!
