I have used the AP2 with my p2S since Nov 30. Only two weeks in and I am having issues. Waiting on Xtool support. The ap2 is just shutting off the fan. Xtool support has been great if you can wait until the next morning for a response via messenger.

The xtool air purifier specifically is not required but don’t run the laser indoors without air purification or extraction. The smell is only a nuisance but the chemicals and airborne particulates can cause serious health issues. See the post from a little while ago about the person who ran their laser in their bedroom for one day then posted a week later asking what to do about their headache that didn’t go away. Don’t buy xtool’s first gen purifier with the hose coming out of the top - that one’s no good to use with a laser. The second gen AP2 is likely out of your price range. Venting outside is the most cost effective. I personally consider a purifier essential even though I also vent outdoors. I like to spend time in my yard and there are lots of families in the neighborhood who do the same. Yeah, sure, the wind blows most of it away and there’s tons of pollution anyways but I see how much particulate gets caught in the pre filter and blowing it all out the window into my yard feels gross to me.

I bought a set while it was on pre-sale and so far don't have any problems with it, rarely smell bad odors when processing acrylic after plugging it on and the noise is bearable. I've seen Youtube reviews that it seems to work well with leather engraving as well, would give 5 stars.

The noise is low, I had P2 and AP2 working together and my dog could still sleep next to my desk, also before I only had my P2 under the window to ventilate the smell and odor, with AP2 I moved it into my studio. Thanks to AP2 the filtration has really helped me a lot.

Personally I love the AP2's auto mode. When you're working you certainly don't have time to adjust the cleaning mode. And it seems portable for smaller room size.

I just bought the p2s with the AP2 a month ago specifically bc of the feature that you could use it without venting outside as I don’t have the option. Cutting acrylic has been terrible and there definitely is a pretty toxic smell. I’ve checked everything and change the footbed filters but still seems to leak odor. 😑. Not sure what to do or how to resolve it. I am pretty frustrated.
