I have owned 7 strollers and one stroller wagon, but not all at the same time. My sweet spot for strollers with one kiddo was a farm stroller and a BabyJogger City Versa GT that I picked up on marketplace. My happy place for strollers with 2 under 2 was one all-terrain single-to-double stroller (Phil & Ted’s Sport) and a compact single seat stroller (BabyJogger City Tour Luxe). I added a side-by-side BabyJogger City Mini GT Double later. Now that I have 3 kids, I’ve sold most of my stroller collection in favour of a four-seater stroller wagon, but kept the City Tour Luxe. Fb marketplace is a huge enabler for my stroller problem lol I’ve only purchased two things brand new and everything else is bought and sold on marketplace.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->To be fair, “travel stroller” is kind of a misconception as well, as it really depends on what you expect out of a compact stroller. The stroller that fits in the overhead bin is really only going to handle indoors and paved terrain, whereas a compact city stroller will deal with a bit more. I live rural; we have gravel streets and no sidewalks in our village, and my parents are on a farm with pasture trails. I have a compact city stroller that we would use for travel, and I also had a Phil & Ted’s Sport with second seat and a Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double. I sold the doubles in favour of a Larktale Caravan Quad. I only buy main strollers that will cope with going for a walk at my parents place and get me to and from the local playground by the mailboxes. I also realized by the time my second kiddo was 6 months old that our terrain capable double stroller was not a great travel stroller (we needed to travel with two playpens and struggled to fit the stroller in the vehicle at the same time, and it folded in too many pieces to be easy to deal with at the airport) and we needed something for road trips to the city. If you’re actually going to run with a stroller, you should get a stroller specifically engineered to do that. You will have a way better running experience if you’re not fighting your stroller the whole time. Also accept that the running stroller will not fit well in the vehicle and will not be ideal for travel.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Jogging stroller that's good for travel [on] ->I have a side-by-side BabyJogger City Mini GT Double that I have used extensively in our rural village. We have gravel streets and no sidewalks, and my family’s farm is on gravel roads that we walk around a lot as well. Zero complaints. It’s the bare minimum stroller frame+wheels for gravel roads. My SiL found a very old BabyJogger City Elite Double (been discontinued for a while) that is also a stellar option with bigger wheels. I also have a Phil & Ted’s Sport + Doubles kit second seat that I highly recommend if you don’t have big kiddos. I have giant babies, and the second seat runs on the small side and has a max weight limit of 33 lbs, so my second baby outgrew the second seat by 1yo and my third baby is on track to do the same thing. The big air-filled tires are perfect for all-terrain needs tho and this stroller has held up to so many walks in the pasture and at all-day outdoor events loaded to the gills with diapers and snacks for 2 under 2. I’d also highly consider a Mountain Buggy Duet, which is owned by Phil & Ted’s. It’s a side-by-side with nice air-filled tires and a smaller footprint than the BabyJogger City Mini GT Double. A friend of mine has one and I’ve handled it a couple of times. It’s a great option. Other honourable mentions that I have no personal experience with would be the BOB double jogging strollers, Bumbleride Indie double, and the Thule double stroller (not the bike trailer Chariots, but the running stroller).
r/2under2 • Double stroller with large wheels? ->I have three giant kiddos. My almost-4yo is 45 lbs and wearing girls size medium, my almost-3yo is 45 lbs and wearing girls size XS and some 5T, and my 1yo is over 30 lbs and going into 3T. My oldest was just starting to find the seat of our BabyJogger City Mini GT Double to be too small; the canopy was touching her head sometimes. I sold our Phil & Ted’s Sport with second seat because my second kiddo had maxed it out for weight capacity already so I couldn’t use it as a double stroller. I upgraded to a Larktale Caravan Quad and LOVE it. My oldest still has room to grow, the seats recline for naps, and everyone has enough leg room.
r/2under2 • Double Strollers for TALL babies ->The city mini double gt -- it fits through doorways, and the mechanism to fold is 2 straps you pull in the seats. I wouldn't say it's umbrella stroller light, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I also like the adjustable handle, as my husband and I are both tall.
r/Mommit • Double Stroller recommendations ->At one point we had like 8 lol. They all have such different use cases! A city mini travel system we got when we had our first. Sold it once our 2nd baby was out of the infant car seat. We also had a Doona and loved that. Sold both when he got too big. We had a City Mini double (someone in my parents rich neighborhood was giving it away! And then they paid $$ to ship it to us, lol.) that we just used around the neighborhood because it was too bulky and a pain to take in the car with the second seat. (Sold this one) A evenflo pivot stroller wagon we took around. A $50 costco wagon that folded up and fit in the car really well. For a while we stopped using the pivot because this one was just easier. A double umbrella we only used for traveling or kept in the trunk, it was a pain because it was short so the adult had to hunch to push. But it was small, we took it on planes to visit my parents. (Sold this one, kids are 6 and 3 now) A GB pockit amazing fold up tiny single stroller. Perfect for travel, took it to NYC and on a cruise. A urbini reversi single stroller, we kept that one even though we used it rarely because it was the only one that could recline super flat for the kid to sleep that had okay storage underneath. After we sold the big double stroller we decided to take the kids to Disney World and I realized wagons weren’t allowed. We considered taking 2 single strollers and quickly abandoned that idea and bought a Graco Sit and Stand double stroller on marketplace for $50 that we love and take with us when we go places like the Zoo and stuff now. Good storage, our older kid can stand or sit and hop on and off easily.
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->We have a city mini double and love it. The seats lay flat so the baby can ride in it. It also has adapters for car seats but we didn’t like that it wouldn’t fold up with the adapter attached. The hight on it goes up to 44in so I’m not sure you would have a tone of time left in it. In general after looking for months at different options the big takeaway we found was that the side by side strollers are much more nimble/steerable and able to go in grass/ grave.
r/Dads • Double Stroller Advice (newborn and 3 year old - 40 inches tall ) ->We did a Chico stroller and car seat combo for our first. Taking the car seat out of the car and dropping it right into the stroller was great. We took that thing everywhere, even thru airports, on planes, Disney, etc. used it for our 3 other kids as well and now it’s sitting in my garage shelf 9 years later. When we had #2 the UBs had come out and we went to test drive them..the 1x1 configuration made it so hard to turn we ended up getting a citi-mini double. Also have taken that to Disney, and Europe, and still have it. We did end up getting a UB Umbrella for when we didn’t need the double and for easier portability. Still got that one too! Yeah the UB is the BMW of strollers, but you might end up wanting / needing another stroller depending on your needs anyway, so save some coin and use it for diapers!
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->I got a free baby city jogger double and love it! Just the seats are thrashed so I’m using our mocking bird for now! Both are so nice
r/BabyBumps • Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? ->We have the baby jogger citi mini double. It is heavy but works well. You can lay in flat for a littler baby (I'm sure there's a weight/age recommendation for that). Not a ton of space for carrying things but not terrible.
r/toddlers • What double stroller do you use? ->How much is your first walking and what's the weather like in the summer there? I overthought a double stroller forever and didnt have one when my second was born.. turned out we really didnt need one. We live in FL so I didnt want to have my baby in the carseat carrier outside too much (she was also a May baby) because they get so hot. I snagged a bassinet stroller from a hand-me-down store for $40 and most of our family walks we had her in that and my son either walked or rode his bike or scooter. We did shorter walks though because, again, summer in FL is HOT. For outings we brought the single stroller we already had that the carseat carrier attached to and I always brought a baby-wear carrier with us which she loved so most of the time id wear her and the stroller was free for our son(this worked perfect for the museum with my son, she usually slept on me most of the time!) or if we were going somewhere where we might be sitting more id have the carseat attached with her in it and my son was fine to move around or sit on his own. We easily made it to 5 months without one when she was big enough to be in most strollers without an attachment. I had decided I really liked the Zoe by then but hesitated on the price just long enough for a friend to happen to be getting rid of their double.. so we inherited a baby jogger city mini double which i had never considered and honestly it works great. The only thing I'd change is it doesnt have a tray for them but I've seen some attachments I can get on Amazon. It fits through doors and aisles well, folds nicely in my trunk, I can turn one-handed and it has storage. With an attachment for me on the handle for storage and cup holders, it has been amazing for Disney days. Im so so glad I didnt buy anything new. TLDR: we overthink these things.. instead of looking for a specific stroller, see what's available in a lower price point and check out kids hand-me-down shops or FB marketplace.
r/toddlers • What double stroller do you use? ->I have the baby jogger city mini double stroller and can’t say enough good things about it. We are a family of tall people. Kids are both in the 95%+. Kids both love it and will sleep in it like it’s their bed. There are car seat attachments but they have to be purchased separately. We had a graco travel system stroller with my first and the baby jogger is milessssss better.
r/BabyBumps • Best Strollers for Tall Parents & Tall Kids? Debating Bugaboo vs. Baby Jogger or Open to Suggestions! ->City mini double or Zoe double . During infant stage I used our uppa baby with the infant insert in the regular seat. We briefly used the tandem function which was not great but not terrible either. It was a beast to push. Now that they are older we use the evenflo wagon mostly and they love facing each other
