Baby Jogger City Mini GT double is great for kids that size. The GT model has a taller seat and much smoother push that the non-GT version. We’ve done City Mini GT as well as the bigger full jogging stroller (Summit X3 double). The Summit isn’t worth the extra weight and size at Disney. The City Mini GT was the perfect Goldilocks of reasonable size, maneuverability, and accommodating for a bigger child.
For stroller, City Mini GT will work for all ages. Folds completely flat so you can use it from birth. Fits up to 65 pounds, so even most 5 year olds can still ride in it. Handles terrain like a dream. If you plan to do 2 children, the City Mini GT double is also terrific.

I agree with all of this right down to experience with the valco triple! Except I have never even tried a wagon because of concerns that they would be exactly like you mentioned. Runner up to bob is city mini gt double.
Same here. Took til baby #4 that I switched our single and doubles over to city mini GT and wish I had sooner!! Good wheels, easy fold, easy maneuver , and all of my babies and toddlers sleep easily in it. It is the GOAT of strollers and the older models on FB marketplace are actually better (I've heard) than what are being sold new. The only thing that would give me pause is making sure there's an adapter included or that it's one of the ones you can find an adapter for if you have an infant because that can be a huge headache w this brand.
I have owned 7 strollers and one stroller wagon, but not all at the same time. My sweet spot for strollers with one kiddo was a farm stroller and a BabyJogger City Versa GT that I picked up on marketplace. My happy place for strollers with 2 under 2 was one all-terrain single-to-double stroller (Phil & Ted’s Sport) and a compact single seat stroller (BabyJogger City Tour Luxe). I added a side-by-side BabyJogger City Mini GT Double later. Now that I have 3 kids, I’ve sold most of my stroller collection in favour of a four-seater stroller wagon, but kept the City Tour Luxe. Fb marketplace is a huge enabler for my stroller problem lol I’ve only purchased two things brand new and everything else is bought and sold on marketplace.
To be fair, “travel stroller” is kind of a misconception as well, as it really depends on what you expect out of a compact stroller. The stroller that fits in the overhead bin is really only going to handle indoors and paved terrain, whereas a compact city stroller will deal with a bit more. I live rural; we have gravel streets and no sidewalks in our village, and my parents are on a farm with pasture trails. I have a compact city stroller that we would use for travel, and I also had a Phil & Ted’s Sport with second seat and a Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double. I sold the doubles in favour of a Larktale Caravan Quad. I only buy main strollers that will cope with going for a walk at my parents place and get me to and from the local playground by the mailboxes. I also realized by the time my second kiddo was 6 months old that our terrain capable double stroller was not a great travel stroller (we needed to travel with two playpens and struggled to fit the stroller in the vehicle at the same time, and it folded in too many pieces to be easy to deal with at the airport) and we needed something for road trips to the city. If you’re actually going to run with a stroller, you should get a stroller specifically engineered to do that. You will have a way better running experience if you’re not fighting your stroller the whole time. Also accept that the running stroller will not fit well in the vehicle and will not be ideal for travel.
I have a side-by-side BabyJogger City Mini GT Double that I have used extensively in our rural village. We have gravel streets and no sidewalks, and my family’s farm is on gravel roads that we walk around a lot as well. Zero complaints. It’s the bare minimum stroller frame+wheels for gravel roads. My SiL found a very old BabyJogger City Elite Double (been discontinued for a while) that is also a stellar option with bigger wheels. I also have a Phil & Ted’s Sport + Doubles kit second seat that I highly recommend if you don’t have big kiddos. I have giant babies, and the second seat runs on the small side and has a max weight limit of 33 lbs, so my second baby outgrew the second seat by 1yo and my third baby is on track to do the same thing. The big air-filled tires are perfect for all-terrain needs tho and this stroller has held up to so many walks in the pasture and at all-day outdoor events loaded to the gills with diapers and snacks for 2 under 2. I’d also highly consider a Mountain Buggy Duet, which is owned by Phil & Ted’s. It’s a side-by-side with nice air-filled tires and a smaller footprint than the BabyJogger City Mini GT Double. A friend of mine has one and I’ve handled it a couple of times. It’s a great option. Other honourable mentions that I have no personal experience with would be the BOB double jogging strollers, Bumbleride Indie double, and the Thule double stroller (not the bike trailer Chariots, but the running stroller).
I have three giant kiddos. My almost-4yo is 45 lbs and wearing girls size medium, my almost-3yo is 45 lbs and wearing girls size XS and some 5T, and my 1yo is over 30 lbs and going into 3T. My oldest was just starting to find the seat of our BabyJogger City Mini GT Double to be too small; the canopy was touching her head sometimes. I sold our Phil & Ted’s Sport with second seat because my second kiddo had maxed it out for weight capacity already so I couldn’t use it as a double stroller. I upgraded to a Larktale Caravan Quad and LOVE it. My oldest still has room to grow, the seats recline for naps, and everyone has enough leg room.
We have 2 city mini gt singles ( one for each kid as they're in different areas during day and my parents watch kid and need it at their place) and city mini gt double for when together. We also own Bob single and double for jogging but use them very rarely ( free on buy nothing)
We rented a city mini gt double for disney and it was perfect.
I had the cheap frame stroller for 2 car seats. We didn’t leave the house much the early days except to go to the doctor. Then I had the city mini gt double for my main stroller. They were able to sit in it as young as 1 month old bc it reclined so flat. That stroller is amazing and made it to when they were 6 at Disney. It’s one that truly grows with them. I never felt like I needed a smaller stroller bc it was narrow and easy to navigate. I feel like so many newer fancier strollers are bulkier and honestly not great for the toddler stage. And to me strollers are key to independence for toddler twins
I can’t speak to the newer models bc I haven’t tried them, but I had a city mini gt double and was able to use it with newborns until my twins were 6 (briefly at Disney lol). Hands down it was the best stroller.
City mini gt double. So much easier to navigate crowds with than a bob
I started with the cheap snap and go stroller. I think ours was the joovy roo plus. Then had a side by side for my main stroller. Just make sure to get a side by side that is no wider than a wheelchair so it can fit through most doors. With toddlers and preschoolers I loved the side by side, we had a city mini gt double. Never felt like I needed anything else with that
We had a city mini gt double and loved it. I’m probably weird but I’ve never wanted my babies facing me lol. I also find strollers with toddler seats like that to be impractical longer than the baby phase. I have tall toddlers and I loved never feeling like I needed another stroller. Plus they could climb in on their own once they were 2
We bring our city mini gt and it’s great for big kids and Disney. I think the biggest thing is making sure the stroller is easy to fold and carry if you have to use Disney transportation- that made the bob a definite no for me
The city mini double gt -- it fits through doorways, and the mechanism to fold is 2 straps you pull in the seats. I wouldn't say it's umbrella stroller light, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I also like the adjustable handle, as my husband and I are both tall.
The baby jogger city mini gt double stroller is the right answer. You can rent that model from a lot of the different stroller rent companies. We use Strollerfy cause we found it’s the cheapest. Ended up being $10/day. The drop off and pick up from your resort. Our kids are bigger than yours and it still works for them.
My 50lb 6 yr old rides fine in the city mini gt. You can also rent them :)
