I’ve posted about this before in this sub, but when my wife and I started looking at strollers I was the one giving each stroller a HEAVY once over and examining every aspect of them. My priorities were something that was easy to use and operate, covered our needs in terms of features, and most importantly, DURABLE. Every “compact” stroller I fondled felt like it would die in 6 months of regular use, even the bougie brand ones like UppaBaby. I was immediately turned off by the construction of all of them. We ended up with a BabyJogger City Select 2. It’s big, a bit heavy (although not the heaviest model I checked out), but it is built like a tank. We’ve put it through the wringer and it has some battle scars, but all the joints and moving parts on it still function like new and it shows no sign of slowing down or wearing out. We got lucky in that we found one for 35% off on the Black Friday before our son was born, but I would have still paid full price. For those that make it work with compact strollers, kudos to you, but I’m sure if we tried to go that route we’d have been on our 2nd or 3rd stroller by now.
r/daddit • Hands down, the best purchase I've made in years ->Yes to the good stroller! I got. City select thinking I would like the single to double on marketplace but didn’t realize how hard it would be to push once I had two kids in it. I still have it but only use it for one and bought a double bob and then a single bob.
r/Parenting • Black Friday tips : what baby stuff was actually worth it? (first-time mom here 💁🏻♀️) ->We used a car seat adapter with our stroller for both kids; it really doesn't take that long for them to move up to a 'big kid' seat, so a bassinet attachment seemed like overkill. (FWIW, we have the Chicco Keyfit 35 and the Baby Jogger City Select 2.)
r/BabyBumps • Is a stroller bassinet worth it? ->Same I sold our vista for the baby jogger double when my youngest was 6 months old. I wanted my baby up top but it was hard to maneuver with my oldest on the bottom. We still use the baby jogger and they are almost 2.5/almost 4.
r/2under2 • What stroller are you using? ->I bought a stroller that has the option to turn into a double if I’m lucky enough to get pregnant again. I went with the baby jogger city select 2.
r/BabyBumps • Single/double stroller ->I currently have 3 but I’m supposed to be getting rid of one. Graco umbrella which we keep in my husbands car as either of our kids can use it. City select lux with bench seat which I keep in my car because it’s easier when I go out by myself with both kids. And then there’s the city select double that’s left open in the garage where I set the baby down daily. I’ll get rid of it eventually lol
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->If you plan to have more than one child somewhat close together then a city select with all the different attachments of your choice is phenomenal. We have had one and use the hell out of it. Various parts are lifetime warranty and we have sure needed to take them up on it a few times. It’s fairly popular and you may find one second hand but they require the original purchase receipt for the warranty. I can’t really speak for any other brands but we are very satisfied with our purchase. I also had some serious sticker shock when we started looking too. Good luck.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->I was going to suggest this!! As versatile as the described above and significantly less expensive! We liked it a lot.
r/BabyBumps • Alright let’s talk strollers ->Just bought the Baby Jogger City Select double stroller for $90 off FB Marketplace. It has a bassinet option. You can change the orientation of the seats. Newer model brand new retails for $749. Price was right and we've had great success in a city with Baby Joggers (also using the GT).
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Double stroller recommendations for a toddler and infant? Due in 6 weeks and can’t decide! ->I LOVE MY CITY SELECT. I love that there’s a zillion on them second hand, I love that I can buy replacement/repair parts or salvage from a part stroller if I need to, I love how it adapts so easily from one to two to three (with a glider).
r/BabyBumps • [deleted by user] ->Sounds like you need a City Select. They’re a dime a dozen used (at least here in Canada) and have literally everything you need - plus an option for a 3rd kid on a glider
