We used a car seat adapter with our stroller for both kids; it really doesn't take that long for them to move up to a 'big kid' seat, so a bassinet attachment seemed like overkill. (FWIW, we have the Chicco Keyfit 35 and the Baby Jogger City Select 2.)
With my first child (he’s 6) I got a Chicco travel system, including stroller. It was fine, it did the job. I used it a TON- I walked malls, Disney, neighborhood- you name it. When I had my 2nd child the Chicco was worn out and dirty and my older child still liked to ride occasionally so I wanted a stroller that could hold 1-2 depending on the situation and ended up with a City Select 2. It was like $600-700 which is still not the most expensive, but it was a huge difference in quality from Chicco. It pushes so much smoother and has a lot of seat options depending on what my kids want. My kids are now 2 and 6 and still both ride in it regularly, so I feel like I’ve gotten my moneys worth out of it, but if you don’t plan to use a stroller a lot I’d just get the lower priced one and call it a day.
I bought a stroller that has the option to turn into a double if I’m lucky enough to get pregnant again. I went with the baby jogger city select 2.
We have the baby jogger city select 2. It can be a single stroller and then can convert to a double stroller. You can also add a glider board for 3 kids. We bought during a prime day sale, I want to say for $400 or $500. Then the extra seat and attachment was another $90. This thing is so well made and sturdy. We have had for 3 years so far and really like it. We now have a 3.5 ye old and 1.5 year old and baby 3 on the way
I have a baby jogger because with the sale price I got it came to half the price of the uppababy vista. We were the same where we could afford to get the vista but when it came to the baby jogger city select 2 with a bassinet came out to half the price of the vista with a bassinet. I figured that the vista might be a bit better, but not $800 better. Honestly now that bubs is here and I use the stroller daily I’m happy with my choice and I’d do it again. Or I would just get one used on marketplace in good shape. Being in the GTA you would have a ton of options if you want to go that route. As for car seat I got the baby jogger city go one which was on sale for $280 I believe. Car seat have so many regulations around them even the cheap ones are just as good. I’d rather get a nicer convertible car seat for when this guy outgrows the infant seat, which will be very quick.
Second this! We have the city select 2 and has the same features as a vista. I got it on sale and got a bassinet for it and paid less than half what a vista would have cost.
We absolutely love this stroller! Not having a bassinet has been the only downside & I really wished it had it those first few months. Granted - as soon as our daughter could go in the “normal” seat (5 - 6 months old) it’s been the best thing ever. Definitely something you buy for long term use & not necessarily the newborn stage. With baby #2 on the way I was wondering if one of their car seat adapters works with another brands bassinet attachment? Could be a workaround now that the (very expensive) Baby Jogger bassinet isn’t an option.
I really like my baby jogger city select 2. it looks like it has a chicco adapter but i didnt look extensively. My only advise is that baby jogger seems to run out of accessories so get whatever seat adapters, extra seats, other accessories you’re going to need for the life of the stroller upfront. i wonder if cost doesnt matter and you really want a specific stroller if it may be worth getting a new infant seat to be compatible.
We have the baby jogger city select 2 and its been working well so far with condo life. It folds up small and fits in our cost closet bi purchased a bassinet in marketplace which he enjoys for walks and I also purchased carseat adapters on marketplace so I can attach his carseat for running into the grocery store. There are a few minor things I don't like but for the price we paid on sale, I can look past it.
