I know you adamantly against a lightweight stroller but your baby is 6 months old. Your baby will become a heavy toddler and those lightweight options won't feel so rickety. Trust me when I tell you that everyone I know who got a SUV stroller like the Cruz or the Vista ended up using a lightweight stroller by 1-18 months. I've seen this play out at my child's daycare too. I had the Uppababy Minu. It is sturdy. Baby Jogger City Tour is good too. They are lightweight but feel more substantial. All that being said, there is a reason why you see so many Yoyos, Aers, and Butterflies. They are great for 2-4 year olds. Yes by that age they will walk well but they also can't walk 10 blocks without getting tired. The Yoyo is 12.5 lbs and folds the flattest. It's ideal for carrying on a strap while holding your child's hand on the stairs. You don't want to depend on the elevator on the train. Most stations don't have them and they are disgusting.
r/nycparents • Nuna Swiv or Uppababy Cruz V2 for New York City broken sidewalk living?! ->I have owned 7 strollers and one stroller wagon, but not all at the same time. My sweet spot for strollers with one kiddo was a farm stroller and a BabyJogger City Versa GT that I picked up on marketplace. My happy place for strollers with 2 under 2 was one all-terrain single-to-double stroller (Phil & Ted’s Sport) and a compact single seat stroller (BabyJogger City Tour Luxe). I added a side-by-side BabyJogger City Mini GT Double later. Now that I have 3 kids, I’ve sold most of my stroller collection in favour of a four-seater stroller wagon, but kept the City Tour Luxe. Fb marketplace is a huge enabler for my stroller problem lol I’ve only purchased two things brand new and everything else is bought and sold on marketplace.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->We have a baby jogger city tour and it's been brilliant, fully reclines, I fold it one handed, although I don't know how easy it would be for a smaller handed person 😂, overhead compliant, comes with a shoulder bag so we put it in that before it goes in the overhead. The canopy was too small when my bub was littler so we combined it with a snooze shade for a bit of extra sun protection and napping on the move
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel pram help please - decision paralysis ->Our second or third hand UppaBaby that we got on a steep discount on Facebook Marketplace was great. Didn’t look shiny and new but was very well built. Plus when we moved on to a more compact stroller about a year in, we sold it for like half what we paid for it.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->Our Baby Jogger is amazing (I think we have the city tour, it’s the one with two front wheels). We have put so many miles on that thing banging around cities we’ve traveled to. A decent amount of storage underneath and it’s actually very compact. We only got it when our daughter was sitting up though, so not sure if it’s a great fit for an infant.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->Oh man, I remember the stroller decision all too well. My advice, narrow down to the few you’d like the most and then buy used. Don’t waste your money buying new. You have more time than you need to set up Facebook marketplace alerts and wait for a good deal to come up. You’ll want to buy the car seat new, but you can get adapters to match to a different brand if needed. Also, spending less money takes the pressure off buying a stroller you’ll use forever, and (if you have the space) allows you to buy different strollers for different purposes. At first we bought a Maxi Cosi stroller/car seat package (new but deep discount), but the stroller kind of sucked. So we kept the car seat and sold the basically new stroller and found a good deal on a second (or third?) hand UppaBaby, which we liked because it had a really nice bassinet attachment. Bassinet was great for the first few months, but ultimately the stroller was bulkier than we wanted. When our daughter was able to sit up on her own, we switched to a much more compact Baby Jogger (not to be confused with a jogging stroller) that became our “travel stroller” (bought new in box but for a steep discount on Facebook Marketplace). Shortly after we lucked into a very worn looking but super sturdy Bob Jogging stroller as a hand-me-down from a friend. Our daughter is almost 3 and we still have these two to this day and have been using them over 2 years. The Bob sits in our garage and we take it on walks around the neighborhood. The Baby Jogger stays in our car, and we use that when we drive somewhere or travel out of town. We live in a pretty walkable area so we actually use the Bob more often, but the Baby Jogger is surprisingly durable and has taken a lot of abuse, getting a lot of get checks and a lot miles walking around various cities we’ve travelled to.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->Not the most secure, but I've travelled with the cosco scenera strapped to my baby jogger city tour. It sits in there almost like it was made to do that (had someone at the airport exclaim they needed it lol)
r/toddlers • Toddler car seat for Ubers that works with a stroller? ->I just got back from a trip with my 5-month old. Our direct flight was 16 hours. I made sure I packed light for my carry-on because my baby is on the heavier side and I’m a petite person. Stroller recommendation: Baby Jogger City Tour. Fits in the overhead bin and about 14lbs. I gate checked the stroller. If you are formula feeding, I suggest using this storage bag for the powder as it saves so much space in your handcarry/ personal bag unlike the stackable plastic container. https://preview.redd.it/wtff591fad9f1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d76f438c0924932995c91ee302adecc7323ad5a
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Travel stroller recommendations [BC] ->My kids are 7 and 8 and we literally just got down to only a wagon last week. I had 2 single joggers (my sister took 1 a few years ago) and she didn’t want my double. So my husband finally sold the remaining single and the double on his day off last week.
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->I had 4 at one point (kids are 14 months apart), 2 single joggers (we were training for a 10k as a couple), a double and a wagon. My kids are 7 and 8 now and we just have the wagon that one side comes down and becomes a bench. Plus our dog is getting up there and so she walks a couple blocks and catches a ride now haha.
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->My son was born in January this year. I’m in southern Alberta, but our winters are also unpredictable. I honestly didn’t go outside a ton, for the following reasons • my winter coat didn’t fit properly still. I couldn’t zip it up, and I wasn’t about to buy a new one until I was more regulated pp, that way it would still be good for the future • it is pretty windy here if it’s warmer in the winter, and wind makes me miserable. • the days went by so fast, and I found that I rarely had the idea of going on a walk until it was close to evening That said, we did go out every now and then. I bought a secondhand city baby jogger (the brand is literally baby jogger lol) and I really enjoy how smooth it is to drive. It also has capabilities for double seating (if you are thinking of eventually having another). It was great through the snow and ice, and the seat can be turned into a bassinet, although I think you need a special frame that’s sold separately. Since ours was secondhand it came with that already. We didn’t use the bassinet too often though, and the only reason we used it at all is because I hadn’t ordered the adaptors for the car seat. Once I had those I literally just popped the car seat on every time. I don’t think you NEED a bassinet personally, but if you think you might use it, get a stroller that doesn’t need extra parts to convert. That’s my opinion.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller reccomendsrions for a winter baby? [on] ->3. One for daily use, the Chicco Corso. It's a workhorse, decently light weight, single hand fold. Small enough to take most places, big enough to hold what we need. Infant and toddler modes, multiple seat positions. One jogging stroller, the Thule Urban Glide. Purchased used, and its still going strong years later. It's a tank. Huge tires, still lightweight. Doesn't fold easily or become compact. But it handles well for running on pavement and is also our off- road hiking stroller. If you don't hike or run it's not necessary. But I love it and have put lots of miles on it with my kid. One travel stroller, the baby jogger city tour. Also purchased used. Only purchased this for international travel so made it 3 years without a 3rd stroller. Needed something I could push around an airport, that folds very compact, and was only one piece for a gate check (I was worried the Corso with multiple pieces that don't easily fit into a bag would would get lost or broken on a plane). Small wheels and small storage means I didn't want one like this for daily use. I plan to reuse all 3 with my second child. Purchased the Corso as part of a travel system, so its the only one I paid full price for. Used strollers that have been well cared for were worth the extra investment, as they provided a lot of flexibility. I wouldn't be able to go running nearly as often without my jogging stroller. The travel stroller was well worth it for touring foreign cities. I walked 7 miles plus each day when traveling internationally and would not have been able to carry my 3 year old or have them walk that far. We got so much extra sight seeing done and, it fit in a backpack when we went on busses, ferries, and trains.
r/BabyBumps • How many strollers did you end up with? Is it possible to get by with just one? ->Four… two doubles and two singles :) One stacked double for the car. A double jogger on the porch. A single jogger at my parents and a single travel stroller.
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
