We bought a caddy type stroller (babytrend snap & go) when our twins were first born. Really convenient and easy to take around. I waited until black friday to SPLURGEEEEE on not 1 but 2 babyjoggers 😅. Theyre 30% on black friday plus either amazon (15% off) or target (15% + 5% if using red card) completion discount. Getting 2 was only a bit more than getting 1 when not on sale. It worked in our favor bc they were born only a few months away from black friday. Ok we love both the babyjogger double strollers so I imagine the single versions would be amazing as well. The mini gt2 is so smooth and easy to take them shopping and around the city in. Also got the summit x3 because that is an actual jogging stroller (mini gt2 is not). I get such a good workout in with that one. Both worth the purchase and the wait. We still use the caddy as well for more tight places like the doctors office…will be using that one for as long as they fit in their infant carseat.

We went in May and rented a jogging stroller from Strollerfy that had a max weight of 75lbs. Delivered it right to the hotel and picked it back up. Not dealing with a stroller on our flights was great. My kids are taller. My 4 and 8yo both rode in it just fine and my 9yo sat in it while we were waiting a few times. My 8yo suffers from foot pain and was able to take rests just fine.

We have the baby jogger summit x3. Has suspension, air tyres, handbrake, front wheel lock and one-hand fold. I go jogging off-road with it every other day.

I have the X3, although my front wheel lock is on the wheel. I jog 4k round the park with baby every morning after breakfast. Suspension is really good over bumps. He usually falls asleep by 3k. We got it secondhand for €20 and it still runs great.

I got a secondhand summit x3 for €20 on our local marketplace. Looks like it has much bigger rear wheels and (crucially) a hand brake. I've never gone fast enough to need the handbrake but I'm guessing that's why it's not advertised for jogging.

It is definitely worth getting the clickable infant seat for easy transfers from car to stroller. You can't imagine the sleep deprivation yet, and you can't imagine the anxiety you will feel when you are trying not to wake a sleeping baby!! You want to be able to leave the house (for fun or for chores) and not feel like you are trapped at home. Being able to move the car seat from the car to the stroller helps with that because you don't necessarily have to work around your babies (unpredictable) nap times. I am really happy with my car seat + stroller setup, so I'll share what I have: I really love my Baby Jogger Summit X3!! Smooth one-handed steering, easy folding, good shock absorption alongside large air-filled tires, great on ice/slush or uneven ground! I got the Graco Snugride infant car seat and purchased "adapters" so that the car seat would click into the jogger. When my baby was 4 months old, I started using the seat that's built into the jogger, reclined all the way down, and that was a pretty flat surface that mimicked a bassinet attachment (so that I didn't need to buy that too).

I bought the cheapest crib I could find (still new, not used) and I'm happy with it. I think it's from Walmart. You don't know if you might end up bed sharing 😉 I love my stroller: Baby Jogger Summit X3! Smooth, one-handed steering, easy folding, good shock absorption, great for handling ice or uneven ground. It has a super big/long sun shade that still almost completes shades her body at 7 months old. I got the Graco Snugride infant car seat and purchased "adapters" so that the car seat would click into the jogger. When my baby was 4 months old, I started using the seat that's built into the jogger, reclined all the way down, and that was a pretty flat surface that mimicked a bassinet attachment so I didn't have to spend money on that.

I also felt overwhelmed about strollers, I did a lot of research, I refused to spend on the high end, and I ended up really happy. Stroller: Baby Jogger Summit X3 - large, air-filled tires that work great on ice, slush, gravel, and uneven sidewalks - Baby Jogger sells two different compatible bassinets BUT they seem difficult to find in Canada AND the stroller itself has a seat that reclines almost all the way down... So I've been using that seat instead of a bassinet since my baby was 3 months old (you should get one of those inserts that has a semicircle of padding around their head to stop their head from shaking around too much) - good amount of storage underneath, but not the most I've ever seen - sun shade is very large/long, the largest I've seen, almost completely covers baby down to their feet - straps are easy to open/close, and comfy for baby - easy to steer with one hand - easy to fold away, has a one-hand pull tab, but technically requires two hands because it's too heavy to lift in/out of your vehicle with one hand... When closing, one hand pulls the tab and the other hand holds the handle, then once it's folded, you lift it into your vehicle... When opening, one hand grabs the handle and the other hand grabs the tab, and you pull it out of your vehicle in a folded state... Midair you separate your arms and by the time one tire is on the ground, the stroller is mostly unfolded and then it clicks into place, fully opened. So it's easy, but it requires two hands Car Seat: Graco SnugRide 35 Lite LX - comes with a base you can secure to the seat of the car ... But it's not a 360 degree rotating base - easily clicks into base - easy to remove from base, but the car seat + baby get pretty heavy after a while, especially if you're keeping them in the middle back seat, so you have to be strong 💪 - compatible with the Baby Jogger Summit X3 but you have to buy the "Graco click connect" adapters: https://share.google/U0TxpTEAca7ePbmOd - I took it on flights and it survived gate check - while traveling, I secured it to various vehicles using the seatbelt instead of the base ... Was easy to do and felt very secure - overall nothing special, gets the job done - supports baby up to 32 inches or up to 35 pounds... this not accommodate a toddler and beyond, it might not even accommodate your infant once they reach those maximums. But I wouldn't worry about that and don't bother picking the next car seat ("grow with me" type) now, wait until after baby is born

r/BabyBumpsCanadaAm I crazy for not wanting a stroller? [BC]

I don't recommend NOT having a stroller. You cannot yet imagine the toll it will take on your body just to care for a baby postpartum, let alone be constantly carrying it everywhere you go. You will feel stifled and restricted. You want to have options, and a stroller gives you that. I also strongly recommend choosing a car seat and stroller that are compatible with each other so that you don't have to take the baby out of their car seat in order to use the stroller. Again, there are already so many restrictions and constraints that come with caring for a baby, you don't want to be forced to wake a sleeping baby because you can't just click the car seat into the stroller. Or WORSE, be forced to carry the car seat itself. I have a Baby Jogger Summit X3, it has large tires filled with air, and it is awesome on icy or rough terrain! I'm very happy with this stroller. I also have the Graco SnugRide 35 Lite LX Infant Car Seat. I bought adapters so that the car seat can be attached to the stroller. When you are researching strollers, make sure you look up which car seats they are compatible with and whether you need to purchase a set of adapters -- the manufacturer of the stroller will make this very clear. For context, I'm out and about pretty much everyday with my baby (almost 6 months old, born in February 2025, I'm also a FTM). I go to lots of baby & me things, I run errands like the grocery store, I go to parks, and I use a combination of the car seat, the stroller, and the carrier everywhere. If I didn't have these options, I would feel less inspired to leave the house, and personally that's not good for my mental health.

I love my Baby Jogger (brand) Summit X3 (model), I use it as my main stroller. It was $700 brand new but I was able to expense it to my employer under our annual fitness allowance. Things I love about it: smooth one-handed steering, easy folding, good shock absorption, great for handling ice or uneven ground, super big/long sun shade; the seat that's built into the jogger, if reclined all the way down, provides a pretty flat surface that mimics a bassinet attachment so I didn't have to spend money on that. Things I don't love: literally nothing. It's perfect.

Baby jogger summit is the best…. I live in a rough terrain area can push that thing through snow, gravel, mud and it’s light and easy to fold

I have the Baby Jogger Summit x3 and have the car seat attachment. It also folds up for travel. It’s the only stroller I’ve ever had for three kids (11 yo, 9yo, and new one due to be born any day).

Hope you can find something. Love my babyjogger otherwise. The summit version looks great. I can still fit my 3 year old in the baby jogger mini which is great.

I have the Baby Jogger Summit X3, purchased in Northern Europe in 2023. The locking front wheel actually has 2 locking options: locking backwards is easy (as you described, reaching down with your right hand) but if you want to lock it forward (better for runs) you do have to do it on the wheel directly. If you only locked the front wheel backward that may have been why the ride didn’t feel as smooth for you? The older models (pre 2020 I believe) are better because the seat reclines flatter. This isn’t a really point for jogging but it made adding the baby bassinet more difficult and naps are less comfortable. We actually had to remove the seat completely for the first 8 months while we used the bassinet. In our friends’ older version you could effectively use the stroller on a jog with an older kid and afterwards pop the bassinet on and push the baby on a walk without taking the stroller apart. It’s a bummer they changed that. In general we’re really happy with the X3 even though almost no one in our country uses them (Thule rules the market here). Definitely more affordable than Thule but I think if we had to do it all again we may have chosen Thule. I think Thule also has an adjustable handlebar, weirdly the Summit X3 doesn’t adjust at all. It works fine for us (175cm /5’9’’ and 186cn /6’2’’) but an odd choice for Baby Jogger to make in my opinion.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect jogging / all-terrain, four season (most important aspect for me) stroller. After months of researching strollers online, and using this sub as a reference, I had the opportunity to go to a store that had them all to check them out - It was CONFUSING that it went so differently than I anticipated. BEFORE testing & based solely on internet research I ranked my top options to be: 1. Bugaboo Fox / Donkey (On my list as many people say it did well on rougher surfaces, seemed premium for features, easy to grow with, and highly rated) 2. Bumbleride Era / Indie 3. BOB All-terrain Pro (impressive longevity, suspension, and praised as the holy grail of off-road) 4. Thule Urban Glide 3 (well loved for jogging) 5. Veer Switch & Jog 6. Guava Roam 7. Uppababy Ridge I got the chance to see / push the following and here is what I found/noted: - Bugaboo: Wasn’t as amazed as I thought I would be for the price point. Seems like good quality, but pushes and fairs only average compared to the other jogging oriented strollers. Seems like an overpriced luxe brand IMO. I liked the following strollers much more in general. - Bumbleride: I REALLY wanted to love this the most, but didn’t at all. Only got the chance to see the Era. I thought the seat was very good quality and was nice to be able to flip around or lay flat. Comes with bumper bar. Pushed fairly nice. The cork handle didn’t feel very ergonomic compared to others. No hand brake. Didn’t feel as sturdy/stable as the rest. Maybe the Indie would maneuver better? Unfortunately, I wasn’t blown away with this. - BOB: Very solidly built stroller. DID NOT like the hand brake - found it hard / takes a lot of force to use. Pushed pretty smoothly, but not as well as the next 3. The harness was harder to click than the rest. Minor, but didn’t love the feel of the handle. Folds easier than the Thule. - Thule: Pushes like a dream. Brake system is on point. LOVED the twist hand break - so easy and effective. Big fan of the zip covered storage bottom. Seat seems about the same as the BOB - good. Harness is alright to use but not my favorite. This handlebar is the BEST of them all - very ergonomic, comfortable design, comfortable material, and adjustable too. Similar fold to the BOB, but not quite as smooth as you have to note the locking mechanism - only VERY minorly more work than the BOB, not enough to matter much. - Uppababy Ridge: A pleasant surprise - wasn’t expecting to be so impressed. Pushed GREAT - better than the BOB, not quite as smooth as the Thule. Feels bigger and handle feels higher than the others but very sturdy. Hand brake worked excellently. Covered storage basked very nice. The front wheel lock is just a push button on top that glows green (I think when it was locked). The dual foot breaks (one red and green) felt a little gimmicky/ unnecessary. Harness clicked beautifully easily - one of the easiest. Seat seemed nice and roomy. Husband thought the disc brake design wasn’t the best idea and was tacky. I wish it had air instead of foam tires. - Baby Jogger Summit X3: A PLEASANT SURPRISE - wasn’t even on my list, but glad we saw it!! Solidly built. Suspension seemed awesome. Pushed great! Maybe not as smooth as Thule, but on par with the Uppababy Ridge and slightly better than BOB. Nice seat. Harness was the easiest to click and unclick, brakes worked great, EASIEST fold, front wheel lock is on the side of the stroller so no need to go to the front, handlebar a little odd texture but not bad and preferred it over the BOB. This stroller had me second guessing everything, but the online reviews are only so-so, and the wheel shook a little (felt like a touch off/bump), but wondering if it’s because the wheels were kind of flat? However, I do see some reviews with the same complaint. If I knew that weren’t a problem that stroller seemed elite. - Veer Switch& : Unfortunately didn’t get to see this, but did find the seat itself in person and the seat looked VERY well built, but maybe a little on the smaller/narrow side? I just wanted to share my experience / thoughts, as I know most people don’t get a chance to try multiple different strollers! Has anyone else tried multiple of these? Any experiences / thoughts?

If you attend the baby show next time it’s on you can test run a whole range of buggies through a course. It’s both funny and insightful. Baby jogger has a bunch made for running but it’s quite hard to get a buggy that is compact, has a capsule attachment and add ons for future babies but also is good for running. The running ones tend to be large and one solid unit. The Edwards and co range are compact and can add on for extra kids and come with capsule attachments. They are more durable for gravel and long walks than the little 4 wheel city ones but I don’t know how they would go on runs. I agree with the other poster you’ll next two separate buggies if you want a city/car one and a running one
