We got the ride on attachment and now all 3 kids are using it together (3,1,3mo). The baby trend wagon is a solid choice.
For grass, sidewalks, or uneven ground and only two kids, I prefer the double jogging stroller with inflatable wheels. It is massive, but much more comfortable for the kids, easier to push, and has more storage.
Yeah, we're still using it at 9 months now. We took out the bassinet mattress and she just sits up in it. But I like that it has a flat bottom, we'll use it for zoo trips in the future, so when she's a toddler she has somewhere to recline if she needs to.
My baby is a little bit short, but since she was a newborn she's loved flail all of her limbs around and gets agitated if she's constrained. So she didn't fit in a traditional pram for her own comfort reasons.
We have three strollers:
- a classic Graco upright stroller, which was a hand-me-down from a friend, and we use for walks around the neighborhood. We use this one daily.
- A baby trend expedition that we got when she kept falling asleep, that she can lay down in it and rest. It's also come in handy for day trips, places that are paved, like the zoo. We use this one about once a week, since I will also put her in it while I'm doing work around the yard.
- The Graco expedition stroller, or as I call it our ATV stroller. We go for weekly visits to a farm for our produce and we are frequent hikers, it has these giant durable wheels that can handle those situations. Unfortunately, it has a drop bottom so it's not good for her to nap in. We use this one weekly.
We use all three pretty routinely so I feel good about our choices!
I can't imagine being worried about wear and tear on a stroller... The point is for them to be used. We have 3 very different strollers for very different purposes.
I only travel with my wagon! The “guidelines” is that it has safety straps, so just a buckle. We use the baby trend explorer one and love it for the airport
We got the comparatively inexpensive Baby Trend Expedition 2-in-1 Stroller Wagon with the car seat attachment, and it served our purposes well. I felt more safe with the infant seat at the correct angle, and when we were using the attachment, we had extra storage space underneath it.
My kids are now 3 and 6, and we still occasionally use the wagon, so it has held up well. I thought not having a footwell would be the biggest downside, but it doesn't seem to bother them.
While not the biggest on the market, it has enough storage compartments/cup holders for us, and fairly easily fits in the trunk of most vehicles.
I found a two-seater wagon (the Baby Trend Expedition, I think) on sale when my first was 10 months and snagged it. We’ve loved it even just with one kid. It’s become my go-to stroller at this point, since we really only use a stroller outside now. It’s too big for most stores, so we just do shopping cart seats now.
The wagon came with an attachment so you can clip the infant car seat on, which will be nice for when #2 arrives. However, I can’t find any way to attach a bassinet, so if baby needs to lay flat, I guess he’ll just be flat in the bottom of the wagon. I like how easy it is to push, and that it has the pull option. I feel like they have lots of space, lots of visibility, and good canopy/shade. And with a flat bottom, it’s great for laying them down for diaper changes on the go!
I don’t think I’ll buy a “double stroller” since we have the wagon, even though we’re looking at a 24 month age gap. The wagon is too big for easy navigation in stores, but so are most double strollers. I reckon we’ll just use carts in stores, especially since the store we frequent the most is Costco and they have the extra big 2-seater carts.
