Ikea high chair is actually great and not too expensive. We got almost everything second hand from facebook buy nothing groups and marketplace. That being said, there is improved quality with more expensive items but this is true even if you get them second hand! For example, we got a babytrend jogging stroller travel system second hand and it was great for a year but the wheel stopped working, got a used chicco for a little more money which was a little better, and then ended up with a free Thule jogging stroller that a neighbor was giving away. Wow, the quality was soooo much better in almost every feature. But in my mind not worth the couple more hundred bucks to buy it new. Lots of good deals too during holidays and prime days so thats when we bought some things like a Graco extend2fit car seat. Most of the cost seems to go into the ease of use and quality of materials. For example, the buckle system was just easier to use in the Graco instead of the baby trend which made my life a lot easier but would I pay $1000 for small features like that? probably not.

My Baby Trend Expedition is still going strong after 5 years and large enough to hold my now older kiddos too.

I ended up just getting the baby trend expedition and we actually love it! I had a friend who had the BOB and it was like a Cadillac but just didn’t DO anything much better than the baby trend

The babytrend expedition is the SUV of wagons….which is why I hate it. It’s absolutely enormous, like too big to bring into a grocery store, and it doesn’t fold. The sides collapse but the footprint remains the same. It’s a huge regret purchase for us (we live in the city in a small rowhouse and I don’t drive so it’s basically my car).

Trust me, you don’t need the high end stuff. It’s recently become popular but I’m on #5 and am just now considering getting a few higher priced items for my last baby lol. I totally do second hand, nock off brands and such. Just make sure it has good reviews. This is my first time getting a bottle washer/dryer lol. Amazon has good stuff, you can get a nice side sleeper/ bassinet for $150. You can always request money or gift cards and then go get the nicer stuff you want or may need after baby is born. You will find not everything will work for you. Good luck!!

I totally agree. Find where you want to spend the money and what is important to you! There is nice stuff out there that won’t break your bank! It seems like advertising has been bad for more expensive stuff. Like I said, I just got a bottle washer/sanitizer and I’m on #5. Dishwasher is fine and of course handwashing is good too but I have now found that it works better for me. You can get a baby trend stroller for $150 or less and they are nice but I know you said you have back pain so idk if that would be good for you. You can even get one with a car seat. It’s possible to save money just have to do a lot of looking which is super annoying lol.

This is gold. I do the same thing. I got a travel system (baby trend stroller - we like the bike tires for hiking) and then switch to a Graco car seat later. I’m on #5 and I don’t waste money on stuff that will be used for a few months. Second hand for bouncers and walkers are great lol. I kept the bassinet/side sleeper for my babies and then transitioned the same toddler bed before moving to a twin/full.

This is a great way to find out what works for you and baby and what doesn’t without breaking the bank! I do the same thing but buy a Graco car seat new after baby outgrows the travel system car seat.

We always loved our Baby Trend jogging stroller. It’s certainly not one of the fanciest, or most expensive, but it was sturdy and lasted us years. We brought it to Disney multiple times. It was comfortable for both me and my husband to push, despite him being a foot taller than me.

I got a baby trend jogger set off Amazon. I liked the bike tires instead of normal foam tires on the stroller. It makes for a smoother ride for baby, especially if you are in a more rural area.

We have three strollers: - a classic Graco upright stroller, which was a hand-me-down from a friend, and we use for walks around the neighborhood. We use this one daily. - A baby trend expedition that we got when she kept falling asleep, that she can lay down in it and rest. It's also come in handy for day trips, places that are paved, like the zoo. We use this one about once a week, since I will also put her in it while I'm doing work around the yard. - The Graco expedition stroller, or as I call it our ATV stroller. We go for weekly visits to a farm for our produce and we are frequent hikers, it has these giant durable wheels that can handle those situations. Unfortunately, it has a drop bottom so it's not good for her to nap in. We use this one weekly. We use all three pretty routinely so I feel good about our choices! I can't imagine being worried about wear and tear on a stroller... The point is for them to be used. We have 3 very different strollers for very different purposes.

We love ours too! Only negative is that it doesn't fit in my trunk (mazda3 sedan)
