I had 3 under 4. I’ve used mine a ton. It’s in the back of my minivan now. For the first 4ish months, I babywore before moving them to the stroller. You don’t need to get an expensive, fancy stroller though. I have a double jogger, baby trend expedition I think I paid $200 for. It’s 3 years old and in good shape now.
With my 2 under 2, I found it easier to baby wear the youngest for the first 8ish months. I’d put the older one in the single stroller or cart when we were shopping. With my older 2 kids (28 months apart) we definitely used the double stroller for walks in the summer. I have a baby trend expedition single and double. I think the double was only like $200. I’ve had it for almost 3 years and it’s held up really well. I ended up with 3 under 4 and if I had known I’d have 3 kids so close, I wish I would have gone right for the 4 seater wagon.
Point that nobody has addressed. If your oldest falls asleep, will a platform suffice? Nope. You want a double stroller that can accommodate both children if they both are napping, your bags, food, umbrella, etc. Mine is actually a Jogging stroller, so the maneuverability on ANY terrain is amazing, The spaces are large enough to support both, It folds down quickly and easily, literally, I'm in love. I actually bought it because I had the same brand and type of stroller (as a single) and loved it so much that I bought it as a double when I found out that I was pregnant. And it is relatively soooooo cheap. Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger Stroller, Griffin $239.99
Congratulations on your Twinkies! You’re not overthinking the car seat thing. I went crazy trying to figure this out! I am sooooo glad that we got a stroller with the car seat attachment, because especially when they’re more little it’s such a hassle to be strapping them in and out. Twice! We have the Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller and we hook our car seats into it (using a car seat adapter). My twins are 14 months and they use the Chicco Key Fit 30 car seat. At this point, now that they’re bigger and walking around, they just want to be side by side so we only use this stroller when going to the doctors office because our side by side jogging stroller won’t fit through those doors (but will fit through most doors). Here is our stroller: [Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller](https://www.cityselectstrollers.com/2022-baby-jogger-city-select-2-double-stroller-radiant-slate-gray/) For the car seat adapter, there are like 3 different types of adapters for depending on what type of car seat you have. This is the car seat adapter for Gracco: [Car seat adapter for stroller](https://www.cityselectstrollers.com/city-select-city-select-lux-city-premier-stroller-graco-click-connect-baby-jogger-city-go-car-seat-adapter-by-baby-jogger-ships-now/) And just in case you’re interested, this is the jogging stroller we have. Honestly, I loved how cheap it was and it’s held up so far. The only downside is the limited shade canopy on it. [Jogging Stroller (side by side)](https://a.co/d/2hbNzqA)
This is what we got! Twins aren’t here yet (currently 30w), but I tried it out and it moves really well and was a fraction of the Thule double jogger (which is what I originally wanted). Having a jogger was important to me because I do like to run a lot and we live in a neighborhood with paved hiking trails that can be a little bumpy. I also looked up some universal clip on snack trays/cup holders when we get to that point. We plan on using the Baby Trend snap n go when they are infants though for plopping car seats into for doctors’ visits, getting in and out of daycare, etc
If you are open to something a bit more affordable, Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger is my go to summer outdoors stroller for my twins. Only negative is no snack trays but wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Not sure about actually jogging with it though, never tried it.
I bought all the baby trend! We had the snap and go double infant stroller that the infant seats clicked into and it was ideal for when they were still in infant seats. We had baby tends infant seats( I don’t remember which ones) but they were easy to clean and held up until the girls grew out of them. We had a double stroller (not side by side) that was easy to use and lightweight. I believe the double jogging stroller we had was baby trend. Now they are in babytrend 4in1 seats that have canopy covers. We had the twin bassinet pack and okay too! No regrets and I saved literally thousands.
I have three double strollers and my most-used ones are both big. I have an Uppababy Vista and a BabyTrend double jogging stroller. I use my Uppababy for walks (leisure or exercise), and we take it to fairs, the zoo, etc. I use my BabyTrend double jogging exclusively for (you guessed it) jogging. And then I have a cheap Delta double umbrella stroller that we only use for the airport. Although, the double umbrella stroller is plenty comfortable for my kiddos and I think it would be great for day to day outings and doesn't take up nearly as much space in the car as either of my other two.
We bought like thw super cheap baby trend dual baby jogger for like 150 or 200. Love that thing
I’m pretty much in the same boat (also in FL, hi!). I’ve been wanting to get back into running and have been debating getting a jogging stroller. I thought about using my Tavo, but ultimately ordered the Babytrend (double) jogging stroller. There’s been a few occasions where a front wheel gets caught up in the wrong direction with my Tavo and I don’t want to deal with that while jogging. The Babytrend wasn’t terribly expensive, so if it doesn’t work out I’ll try and resell it on marketplace. It arrives Wednesday, so I’ll report back haha
So, this is my personal experience: Back in 2023, my wife and I took my oldest daughter to Disneyland, we used the Chico Bravo folding stroller which folds pretty compact and is good quality. It would be more storage than your smaller compact strollers but small enough that they fit through X Rays. We did Disneyland only, and just one day, and walked about 15-20 minutes from our hotel to the park gate area. Last February, we did a four day Disney World trip with a Babytrend Expedition double, with a 3 and 1 year old in the stroller. Obviously significantly more space since it’s a double, but the single version has significantly more space than my Chicco Bravo for 2 or my single Chicco bravo that we used on the Disneyland trip. The Chicco is easy enough to maneuver until you start loading it with stuff. If you plan on purchasing souvenirs it means you’ll need to carry more. It’s a bit harder store things. It’s very light but if your daughter is going to be in it a lot, then it’s not something I recommend. I hold this opinion with most compact, lightweight strollers. The Babytrend is a heavier stroller, and is a jogger type stroller. Mine is a double so it’s quite a bit larger but the single looks to be about 2/3 the size of the double, so I wouldn’t say it’s a compact stroller but it still folds up pretty small. The storage on the single looks to be significantly more, you could fit a reasonably full backpack under the seat. As long as you keep the weight down at the bottom, it maneuvers about the same full vs empty. You take up more space in public but not a significant amount more IMO. My recommendations: I’m assuming you’re doing a 3-5 park day trip, or park hopping with 2-4 days. I personally would recommend using the Babytrend Expedition single, which is priced at $140 at my Target according to google. It’s not a “compact” stroller but just about any compact stroller is going to be less enjoyable to push a child in for days at a time, especially if you don’t push a child in a stroller for a long time on a regular basis. If you absolutely HAVE to use a compact stroller, look for one with three wheels. Like the Graco Outpace ($220) at target or the Babytrend Tango 3 ($150) at Walmart. I recommend something with inflatable wheels, since it’s gonna be better at going up sidewalk curbs, multiple terrains, and be more comfortable pushing for long terms. I do not have any experience with park strollers so can’t offer insight there.
