Based on 1 year's data from Feb 24, 2026 How it works
We got this one (under $200) and loved it for our first. We also traveled cross country with it on flights and such. It has big wheels which makes a huge different on trails and uneven terrain. We did have a problem with one tire deflating, but that inner tube slime did the trick. It is awesome. Highly recommend. https://a.co/d/8deYsbm
We have the “regular” and LOVE it. It feels like a baby gear best kept secret to me. I cannot believe how affordable it is for the quality! We’ve had it about a year and have only needed to put air in once, despite absolutely horrible sidewalks. For air, we bought a cheap portable air compressor off Amazon for ~$30 that we use for many things (pool floaties, sports balls, etc.). But depending on where you live, you could also take it to a gas station that has air compressors and fill it that way.
Oh I’d say we use it 2-4 times a week. It’s our stroller for anytime we leave the house on foot for a walk or jog. Our sidewalks are truly awful from tree roots pushing concrete up, so this thing has a lot of credibility for being able to handle those smoothly! But we aren’t intense joggers, so I can’t really speak to that. A mile or two max at a time.
We have the jogger for our singleton and I swear it’s a baby gear best kept secret. I like it better than strollers 3X the price!!! Because of that, I am also considering a lot of their twin gear, so will be watching the responses here!
We had the same problem. We ended up just taking a chance on the Baby Trend Expedition jogger and it luckily kicked ass. You can get the jogger, base and seat pretty affordably on [Amazon](https://a.co/d/0NMmdiF).
Took [this ](https://x.com/DealHopperHQ/status/1964932393074344004)out in the park yesterday. It’s smooth, sturdy, and my toddler passed out in it without protest. Worth every penny for walk-ups.
I have a babytrend jogger stroller/travel system and love it. Wasn’t even going for something like this initially but my bestie passed me hers. Highly recommend. Jogging stroller in general tho, big wheels handle sidewalks a lot easier. Eta: I believe mine is an older version of the babytrend expedition
I have one 10 month old. I have a Joovy Balloon lightweight stroller, a babytrend jogging stroller, and a big plastic radio flyer wagon. We use the jogging stroller most of the time (the sidewalks around here aren’t very smooth). The Joovy only really gets used at like the mall. Haven’t taken the wagon out much bc she’s still kinda small for it.
I went the same route, some kind of Expedition baby jogger for $20 off of Craigslist.
Trust me, you don’t need the high end stuff. It’s recently become popular but I’m on #5 and am just now considering getting a few higher priced items for my last baby lol. I totally do second hand, nock off brands and such. Just make sure it has good reviews. This is my first time getting a bottle washer/dryer lol. Amazon has good stuff, you can get a nice side sleeper/ bassinet for $150. You can always request money or gift cards and then go get the nicer stuff you want or may need after baby is born. You will find not everything will work for you. Good luck!!
I totally agree. Find where you want to spend the money and what is important to you! There is nice stuff out there that won’t break your bank! It seems like advertising has been bad for more expensive stuff. Like I said, I just got a bottle washer/sanitizer and I’m on #5. Dishwasher is fine and of course handwashing is good too but I have now found that it works better for me. You can get a baby trend stroller for $150 or less and they are nice but I know you said you have back pain so idk if that would be good for you. You can even get one with a car seat. It’s possible to save money just have to do a lot of looking which is super annoying lol.
This is gold. I do the same thing. I got a travel system (baby trend stroller - we like the bike tires for hiking) and then switch to a Graco car seat later. I’m on #5 and I don’t waste money on stuff that will be used for a few months. Second hand for bouncers and walkers are great lol. I kept the bassinet/side sleeper for my babies and then transitioned the same toddler bed before moving to a twin/full.
This is a great way to find out what works for you and baby and what doesn’t without breaking the bank! I do the same thing but buy a Graco car seat new after baby outgrows the travel system car seat.
Ummm i definitely went the non-fancy running stroller route. I bought a Babytrend stroller for like $100 or $150 on Amazon that comes with a car seat. I’ve used it hundreds of times and plan to continue with my newborn when she’s old enough. As for using a walking stroller, in addition to what’s already been mentioned, they shake if you push too fast and you’ll end up kicking the metal rim of the basket/bar when you’re running.
2.5 strollers, 3 car seats, 4.5 high chairs 🤦♀️ We mostly use the stroller (Mockingbird) and car seat (Evenflo 360 slim) that I bought first before he was born. I bought a cheapo travel system (babytrend brand) with an infant seat and jogging stroller (which I pretended I would use for exercising) it snaps into at 5 months when we first traveled by air. He outgrew the infant seat by 10 months so we got a cheap lightweight convertible car seat (Cosco Serena) and traveled with that and the Mockingbird over the summer. Then we moved to a house close to a lot of parks and my in laws came to visit for a few months, so we got a tricycle/stroller thing that’s lighter weight and the kid can use as he gets older. I’m also considering a cheap umbrella stroller for next time we travel now that he has good body control. High chairs happened because of needing them in multiple locations (one cheap Ikea one for in front of the TV, one travel collapsible) and one was bought at 3 months as a place to put the baby while we cooked so he wouldn’t feel abandoned. It lays back quite far, but then it wasn’t very good as an actual high chair. We use the Graco 95+% of the time. So yes, these things happen sometimes!
When I took a car seat safety class at work a few years ago, the instructor asked us “which is safer, the $90 car seat or the $300 one?” They both have to adhere to the same safety standards. That stuck with me when looking for car seats and we went with lower cost babytrend travel system with good reviews. It’s been great so far! It’s the rise of influencers that has really brought about the push for all the bougie baby products, in my opinion.
