Just to add to this (I have the Duo 3), I love it for daily walks and it is great for fitting a huge amount of shopping in! But like the uppababy vistas it is neither small nor lightweight/easy to fold down. Frequent car trips and loading it into the boot are a pain in the butt. If weight and bulkiness aren’t an issue, and you are set on a double, look at the new baby bee Juno as well which is meant to be great - one handed fold, I would totally have gotten it over the duo3 if it was around when I bought. Otherwise the comment for getting a good single pram is solid advice; you don’t know if your child will continue liking it, and pushing 20+ kg around really changes how these things manoeuvre. New and better models also come out (like in our case the Juno), so somewhat wish we’d gone a cheaper single then shopped around for another that meets our needs when and if the time comes.
I have a babybee duo3 which I think is similar in size/weight to the vista - I love it for daily walks and to the shops, but we’ve been doing more frequent car trips recently and it really is quite cumbersome to get in and out of the car, then into the house. So much so I’m thinking of investing in a travel pram to leave in the boot 🫠 I’m not sure I’d be happy with just a travel pram, but I definitely see the value in them
I know there are a lot of positive reviews for uppababy here, but one thing to note is that there is no way for baby to look out the sides with the hood down. I had one friend whose baby didn’t like the pram at all because of that, and my toddler now yanks the hood of my parents’ minu up because he wants to see out. I have the babybee duo3, the front wheels were the bane of my existence until we oiled them but the design of the pram itself is very thoughtful with mesh on the sides that baby can look out through (as well as for ventilation), and a UV cover and inbuilt pocket for storage. It came with all the other accessories too like the rain cover, which was very much appreciated. It’s really designed for Aussie bubs. That said, I wouldn’t recommend the duo because of the wheel issue, but I’ve heard a lot of the issues were ironed out in the new Juno, I’d look at that or the Miles if I had my time again.
No it’s not suitable for newborns. I would say from 8 months up it would be appropriate and that’s just my opinion. We have a babybee duo3 as our main pram.
I’ve had four: Jengo panorama, babybee duo 3, jengo strand, bugaboo donkey 5 LOVED our jengo panorama AND jengo strand. Didn’t like that the bassinet had to be on the bottom of the jengo strand and you had no basket with the bassinet on. LOVED the strand tbh and only reason we upgraded was to the bugaboo donkey 5 as it doesn’t do great with a universal skateboard. It was just in the way. HATED babybee duo 3. Wheels would shudder, I used it only in single mode with a NEWBORN and it was so bloody heavy to push with nothing but the baby. Couldn’t manoeuvre it with one hand. My husband is a heavy diesel mechanic in the mines and even he said it was ridiculous how heavy and hard that pram was to push. Customer service was absolutely crap too. I sold this for the jengo strand. LOVE our bugaboo donkey!! I originally got a super cheap one off marketplace which was the first generation. Once I loved it I upgraded to the donkey 5. I love being able to use it in single mode, double mode, or triple mode (I have a 4mo, 2.5yo, and 4yo). I have never had issues getting it through any doorways even in triple mode haha. I love that the skateboard sits to the side in double mode and also love how in single mode it isn’t in the way and you’re not tripping over it (also I’m short). Love the side carry bag thing for when it’s in single mode too!
We have the Babybee Duo and we love it!! Super easy to put together/pack down. Fits in every car, even our tiny Mazda 2, gives us options when bub #2 comes along and isn't hugely overpaid (we got ours from marketplace to save on Costa, but it's very reasonable and goes on sale for even better pricing often)
We live on a farm and got a second hand Babybee duo. That thing has taken an absolute beating, but if you’re going bush with one I would get a jogging type stroller because the front wheels on the duo aren’t quite large enough for true cross country 😅 we’ve made do and it takes the kids round the farm sheds, on our dirt roads, and on grass ok. It doesn’t like ploughed paddocks so much. Highly recommend second hand cause I would be pretty upset on how quickly it got filthy if it was new haha I’d also keep a travel pram for heading into town if I was starting again - our duo is just our farm vehicle now for carting round my 2 under 2. In town I’ll take a baby carrier and have the toddler in the trolley/walking now that there’s two of them.
I also have the babybee rover and my 3 year old still loves his pram. I cant fault it one bit except for how much space it takes in the boot but it didnt bother me. I just put my groceries and other things in the back seat instead. We bought the babybee duo for my twins due in December. The duo is very similar to the rove but just twin version.
Go with a babybee. They have such a good range and reasonably priced (can’t remember if under 1k). It might be a little hard to tick off your wish list ( not impossible) because not all of those attributes can go together. But depends on what you compromise on. For example most that I found have a large basket, aren’t as easy folded (doesn’t fold in 1 piece and not 1 handed). Most that are actually light weight (like a travel style) aren’t a double and didn’t have a large basket. Etc etc. but have a look around and also go try some out, some of the popular ones that I thought I wanted, upon trying it out I didn’t like as much.
I agree - my Babybee was great!
The yoyo is not a one handed fold! Would not get it if just you and baby. I second the suggestion for the babybee but also maybe have a look at the edwards and co lucci.
