I have a Yoyo and a Yoyo Connect, which converts the Yoyo into a double. Best of both worlds!
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->We’re in London and love our yoyo. In our part of town every second pram you see is a yoyo! Great for going in and out of shops/cafes/the bus. Really easy to chuck in the car as well. We also used the baby carrier a lot in the early days, probably more than the pram until he got heavier! We’ve no regrets at all, though it is a bit bumpier than the bigger prams and I have a friend who didn’t get on with it for this reason. As for prams v carrier, it will really just depend on your baby I’m afraid! I see other people on this thread whose babies didn’t like being in the carrier but I know plenty of people whose babies preferred carrier to pram! Our thinking was that that we’ll be using this pushchair for the first few years of their life and as we only wanted to buy one the yoyo just made the most sense for our lifestyle.
r/BeyondTheBumpUK • Prams ->Yep yoyo here too. Works pretty well in SF
r/AskSF • Parents Question --Which Stroller to buy for SF living? ->mom of one with a second on the way -- If it markets itself as newborn ready, I think that recline should be fine. the "flat" idea is just so they dont slide around. don't get the metro+, unless they've made improvements I haven't seen to the canopy -- you'll want lots of shade for your newborn. i LOVE my original Minu (and would love the V2 even more), but the Joolz Aer is slightly more travel-friendly if that is important to you. It is small enough to bring into the airplane cabin if you're concerned about gate checking and is lighter/smaller. And you are smart to prioritize one-hand fold, that is crucial! And the reason I do NOT like the YoYo.
r/Buyingforbaby • Anyone considering the new uppababy minu v3 for a newborn? ->Happy to share! I made the mistake of getting a full-sized stroller (Mockingbird) with my first and that was NOT travel friendly 😅 I sold it and we have been exclusively use “compact” strollers as primary since my son was about 1 and a half or maybe younger. We currently have used versions of the Minu v1 and the Babyzen YoYo. I strongly dislike the YoYo… the fold is two steps, requires two hands, and is too complicated for grandparents to do. The harness also detaches into 5 separate pieces which drives me crazy when trying to buckle. The Minu v1 is amazing as an everyday stroller. So sturdy, so easy to use. That said, now that we are expecting our second, I’m thinking about selling BOTH of our current strollers and putting that money towards a Minu v3 or Joolz Aer+, so that we have a more compact stroller that I actually enjoy using (unlike the YoYo). I do not think non-parent facing is a deal-breaker at all, and I think for travel you’ll be fine with just car seat. I would definitely look for strollers that fold with the car seat adapters and where you don’t need to remove the seat in order to use it with a car seat. That way once your baby is over 6 months (or younger if you are parked somewhere), baby can stretch out for a nap… but again, we did many car seat naps 🙂 I’m sorry I don’t know much about the other options you mention, but I think the Minu v3 is INCREDIBLE! I wouldn’t worry too much about finding a true “travel system” if you mean buying the car seat + stroller from the same brand. I thought I needed this too in the beginning, but it’s not necessary and might limit your options too much! just make sure the stroller works with a car seat (usually through adapters with easy click in and out) and can fold with the adapters on. Both the Minu (v2 and v3) and Joolz Aer+ can do that. My infant car seat is a Nuna Pipa.
r/Buyingforbaby • Minu v2 vs minu v3 ->I actually have a yoyo for travel! I love it! My only complaint is the storage basket is pretty small! Otherwise it’s the best lol.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • BEST STROLLER/BASSINET/CARSEAT COMBO FOR 1st TIME MOM IN TORONTO? [on] ->The vista is a beast, if you’ll be going in and out of the car a lot I’d consider something lighter! I ended up with 2 strollers, 1 light weight travel stroller we keep in the car (yoyo) and the vista which we use strictly for neighbourhood walks (all sidewalks), it’d do fine on dirt roads though. If you need all terrain (trails etc) I wouldn’t get the vista.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller Recommendations [on] ->I’d look at the minu, city mini gt, Ergobaby metro, I’ve heard mixed things about the butterfly seat fabric. I personally have the yoyo in addition to my giant mammoth vista but it isn’t one hand fold, still love it though!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Recommendations for easy-open stroller? [on] ->We love our yoyo! My 2.5 still fits great in it! Fits in the overhead bin (minu doesn’t fit in most I don’t think)
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Best lightweight travel stroller? [Ca] [BC] ->We have the yoyo we love it!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Need recommendations for a reliable travel stroller for flying with baby [on] ->Go on Facebook marketplace put in the posh brands and get them second hand, got a £1,000 bugaboo fox for £200, plus a baby zen yo-yo travel pram, £700 new for £100
r/NewParents • Is everyone on baby/parenting subs rich?!? ->Worth doing a full investigation into the airlines you normally fly if you want to get one that you can bring on the plane as carryon luggage. A lot of brands that advertise themselves as travel strollers don’t actually fit within the allowed dimensions (albeit only just) so occasionally do get forcibly checked. We ended up getting the Babyzen Yoyo as it was the only one I found that actually was allowed by all the airlines I use. Definitely worth looking for secondhand ones as well, you can get some good bargains still in excellent condition.
r/UKParenting • Best infant prams/carrycots that can change into strollers when older? ->We did something similar. I have a silver cross wave as our every day buggy for cobblestone streets or going out into the country and then have a Babyzen yoyo for travel
r/NewParents • Who else has 2 or more strollers and one kid? Are my stroller choices justified? ->Why can’t you use both? A lot of people have a small travel stroller specifically just for travelling and have a bigger one for day to day life with better suspension. My son is around 15 months, has been walking since just before 12 months and still uses his stroller a lot. Most of what I’ve seen from other parents is that even if they don’t use it consistently if you go out a lot they’ll likely still use it some of the time. In terms of recs, we have the Babyzen yoyo and as far as I could find it was the only stroller that actually fit within the cabin baggage allowance of all of the European airlines I looked up as they’re smaller than US ones. You may get away with using others advertised as travel strollers that technically are just too large in one or two dimensions but I’ve also seen people report having theirs made to be checked due to size. The Yoyo on the other hand at every checkpoint we were asked if it was a Yoyo and when we said yes they waved us through without measuring. There’s lots on the secondhand market so you don’t have to pay full price. Super compact/easy to carry and also very easy to fold once you’ve done it a couple of times.
r/NewParents • Should I switch strollers at 1 year old? ->Carseats that are compatible with strollers are only available in the smallest size. Baby will grow out of them sometime between 12-24 months depending on how big they are and the brand. We have the maxi cosi pearl 360 and my son has just grown out of it at 18 months. In addition any stroller that can have car seats attached will be too big to be used as stroller on the plane and will have to be gate checked, so you’ll still have to figure out how to carry the car seat/baby when you get off the plane. Not to mention that using a car seat on a plane isn’t really a thing here in Europe, Americans do it a lot because airlines there don’t allow them to use the baby seat belt that clips to the parents’ one so the only alternative to a car seat is just holding the baby. I’d invest in a good travel stroller like the Babyzen yoyo you can bring on board and just check your car seat with your luggage. All non-budget airlines will give you at least a couple of pieces of baby luggage for free.
r/NewParents • Stroller frame + car seat that works for bigger babies / multiple years? ->The better it is on uneven terrain/inclines the less foldable and heavier it’s going to be. You’ll have to decide if you want to split the difference and get something in the middle or get two. We ended up getting two. We have a silver cross one that barely folds down and is relatively heavy but it’s incredibly sturdy, has great suspension, a massive basket and has been taken on many a countryside walk across mud, gravel, rocks etc. We then also have a yoyo for travel that folds down small enough to go in the overhead compartment in a plane.
r/NewParents • Stroller Recommendations? ->Highly recommend trying to find a secondhand Babyzen yoyo. We got one for that price, although it will be top of the budget. It’s the only travel stroller I’ve found that actually fit within the listed carryon dimensions of all of the airlines I looked up. Personally I’m also super glad I got one I could bring on the plane with me. When we travelled to Australia at 9 months there were massive queues at immigration and having the stroller for my son rather than needing to have one of us carry him was a blessing. Made it super easy for him to sleep too. My son hates baby wearing so it was the only option to be relatively hands free.
r/UKParenting • Travel Strollers ->I don’t think you’re going to be able to get lightweight, easy to take for walks and can face back or forward. The sturdier the stroller is the heavier and less foldable it’s going to be. If everything is close to you and you don’t need to put it in a car then that would actually mean the sturdy stroller makes more sense, not a compact one. We do have 2. Our everyday stroller both for city walking and for taking off road in the countryside is very sturdy, has great suspension, a massive basket, supports a bassinet and the seat can be put forward or back. Because of this it barely folds up and is definitely on the heavier side, so we also have a Babyzen yoyo to use for travel on planes.
r/BabyBumps • Would a compact travel stroller be enough? Or do you really need a regular stroller? Are most moms getting multiple strollers!?! ->I’d absolutely get a compact stroller for travel as well. We got a similar stroller to you (the silver cross wave) as it’s sturdy and good for all terrain but it barely folds down. We can take it on vacations where we drive but no way we’d do it by plane. We got a Babyzen yoyo secondhand at half price to use when travelling and it’s been brilliant being able to take it onboard the plane with us.
r/BabyBumps • Uppababy Vista vs Minu vs Additional Travel Stroller ->We have both. Our full size stroller has much bigger wheels and is significantly easier to navigate, whether over bumpy cobblestone streets or gravel/dirt paths in the countryside. It’s taller so at a better height for my husband and I who are both tall. The basket is a decent size so it fits my son’s backpack + my handbag + shopping + coats. It has a proper sun shade and can be angled back to help my son sleep. We then got a babyzen yoyo for a trip to France when he was 3 months old. It is very small and zippy and was great for getting on and off the plane. I love how small it is for rental cars/transport but for the same reason I’d never use it at my every day stroller. It’s just not sturdy enough and doesn’t have enough storage space for an every day stroller.
r/BabyBumps • Do most people have and use both a regular stroller AND a travel stroller? ->I only have experience with the Yoyo. I bought it because of the issue you mentioned of all of the other ones not actually fitting within the baggage guidelines, I didn’t want to risk it getting taken away and not having it for layovers. Whenever I fly they ask if it’s a yoyo and when I say yes just wave me through. I’ve never had an issue with it coming on a plane with me both to/around Europe and internationally to Australia.
r/UKParenting • So confused with cabin approved strollers bigger that cabin luggage allowance, help! ->Which airline is it wider than? It fits within the guidelines of everything I checked when I bought it a year ago, but maybe I just haven’t flown that airline
r/UKParenting • So confused with cabin approved strollers bigger that cabin luggage allowance, help! ->It really depends on what your lifestyle is! If you're strolling around your neighborhood and can quickly get home, or frolicking through our the city for hours on end, or in your car a lot, whether you have an elevator or not where you live. The Vista is a beast and is basically an SUV of cars but if you're traveling by car, you won't need the basket size capacity. But if you're out and about all day long, having a stroller with a huge basket helps. If you're just doing short fun trips around the neighborhood then I think something like a Yoyo Zen or something similar would work. It folds down and can be carried up and down stairs really easily. You won't need to get two strollers if you skip the Doona and find one that works for your lifestyle with different configurations. You'll also find SO many types of strollers popular in the city.
r/nycparents • stroller for first time NYC parents ->Yes love this stroller! The fact that the newborn pack folds with the stroller is great and love that you can still clip them in. Used it for a 3 week trip in Europe with our 3 month old and super pleased with it.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Travel Stroller for 3-4 month old ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
