Based on 1 year's data from Feb 24, 2026 How it works
BOB alterrain Pro. It's a jogging stroller but it handles super well to be used on a day-to-day basis. It is a bit big but is fine for the bus and SkyTrain in Vancouver. It has big wheels that are perfect for all sorts of terrains (gravel, beach sand, snow - on our rare snow days). I've used mine essentially daily since my first was born almost 4 and a half years ago and it's still going strong. When they are little, you can get an adaptor for the car seat. I will concur that it would be better to have a bassinet option but it's such a short time.
We have a Bob Alterrain pro stroller that's been on primary stroller for both of our kids (3 years apart). I love it. We can take it anywhere - sand, trail, shops. The biggest disadvantage is that it's hard to fit in a small car. We don't have a car and use car share. When we do, either we try select a bigger car or take our very cheap travel stroller.
Controversial opinion: don’t get 1 do it all stroller. Get several “specialty” strollers, optimized for a specific purpose and buy them used/cheap (unless you have 1 type you want to splurge on). Example: We bought a used graco click-lock that worked with his car seat. It lived in the car. We did some travel, so bought a significantly cheaper knock-off version of the Bugaboo Butterfly. Finally, we wanted a really good jogging stroller so splurged on a Bob All-terrain. Had an adapter for the car seat until he outgrew it. All three of those combined NEW (even if you max out with the BOB All-terrain Pro) come out to less than the Bugaboo Fox 5. And you may not need all of those and/or can buy in stages.
Used for almost everything, the only thing worth splurging on is a BOB. Everything other than a jogging stroller is the same basic design. The move is to buy them used/cheap as possible, then you can buy multiple strollers that each meet a certain need for the same price as a new “jack of all trades” stroller that won’t be. We have a BOB all terrain (the big purchase, because we run with him) and then an ultra compact one for travel, we also had what was essentially a Graco cart that his car seat clipped into (but didn’t have a seat otherwise) for when he was <1 year.
With very few exceptions, all our baby clothes were used. We had a local consignment store that would do a “bag sale” to clear out inventory…fill a standard plastic shopping bag for $10. We also had a neighborhood sale and free porch pickup group we sourced tons of stuff from (and passed along things we outgrew). Some stuff is worth splurging on…we both love our BOB jogging stroller and it’s a tank. But so much stuff is going to basically be expendable, so buy it with that mindset!
Don’t get a single, do-it-all stroller. Instead, get multiple specialized strollers and buy them used (FB marketplace, etc), unless there’s one you need to be high-end in one area and is worth the investment(BOB jogging stroller, etc).
We didn't think we'd need a travel system since we don't travel a TON, but our stroller for walks and the zoo and things is the Bob Alterrain Pro. We have a Chicco system that we use for airport and malls, and the suspension and steering is just SO much better on the Bob. The Chicco is perfectly adequate for walking indoors though
We need a double stroller! Or two? Our single stroller is a Bob Allterrain Pro which we love.. great sun shade, maneuverability, greatwhen we do go to more rough terrain spots... bulky to fold up but its okay... and use a cheap stroller for travel but now we have an 18 month old and 1 month old. We use our stroller for neighborhood walks often, sidewalks are wide and well paved but pretty hilly neighborhood. We also like to bring it when we go places in the car (new Rav4) and need something that will fit okay and not take up 100% of the trunk space. In my area in market place there are often Bob or Thule side by sid and the City Select double for sale but we aren't opposed to buying new if one stroller can meet our needs. I will add that we also live in Canada so it needs to be easily available here. I am wondering if the city select for going out would be best along with a side by side model for walking in our neighborhood would be best? Also... wagons!? I haven't even looked into these and haven't tried any other than our Costco wagon..help!
We went with the BOB Allterrain so can’t speak to those two strollers specifically but we love the jogger- we’ve even taken it golfing. Just popping in to say I would absolutely still plan to get a smaller stroller for travel. We do frequent indoor spaces a little more frequently and for shopping, so I actually have three strollers 🙃 (important to note, I only paid full price for our travel stroller, the other two we got at KILLER deals otherwise I think my husband would leave me for having 3 lol). We have an Uppababy Cruz for day to day and then the Graco Ready2Jet for traveling - it’s light weight, folds easily, and has a decent under basket - not as big as the uppa or bob but still good enough and much easier to travel with. We got it from Costco for like $100. The jogging stroller is so big even when folded and takes up a majority of the trunk space in my jeep. It would be a pain IMO for air travel and I would be very annoyed losing half of my cargo space on road trips.
My husband is also 6’9 and I’m not as tall at only 5’10 but we went with the Uppababy Cruz to save some money (it’s only a single) but it’s been great. It was the only stroller he doesn’t kick the bottom basket on because the handle actually extends out & up instead of just rotating up. We also bought a used BOB for running because he could actually run with it. We tested pretty much everything available and found that unfortunately just like many about everything else for tall people, we had to spend more to find something that worked for him.
We have 3. First we were gifted a BOB All Terrain Pro. We wanted this for trails, disc golfing, road running, and Austin city limits festival. The thing's a tank. Then we got a ~$100 wagon for a beach trip and afterwards that became our "tow the tot to the pool" wagon. Third, we came across a BOB double stroller on offer up for ~$100 after we had our second kiddo I've run a lot with it and it's sturdy as hell, just outdated. We use all three. If I could do it again knowing I'd have two kids, the double stroller from the get go would have been the clear choice. I have been curious about the fancy wagons that you can push rather than pull. Seems like a very ergonomic way to get your kids around as opposed to the pull handle, but whatever. I figure I'm done with these purchases now and don't want to store anything else lol.
THIS. Now, I did get a brand new Bob All Terrain Pro as a gift (first grandchild on both sides....), but I specifically requested a used one on marketplace. My parents were adamant that their only grand son would have a brand new stroller. Lol okay then, thanks! But there are soo many on marketplace and theyre awesome strollers! If you want to take any off road trails, apple orchards (tis the season) or live on a dirt road - the BOB is THE stroller. I've taken it everywhere! And if I am in the city - lol what sidewalk crack? Don't even feel them. Smooth as butter! I swear by the BOB. For infant car seats - so easy too! The the appropriate adapter, my chicco keyfit 35 snaps right in and off we go. (Bought the carseat from a friend who also has a BOB stroller).
Bob stroller owner here - don't let the hand brake get you down - these are adjustable. Sincerely, a dirt biking/bicycling couple.
I love my BOB! My parents spoiled me with a new All Terrain Pro (I ASKED that they buy used on marketplace....but its their first grandkid...) I have the adapter for his car seat since he's only 8 weeks but he's so relaxed in it! Gravel road? Pfft. Smooth as buttah
I have a BOB stroller as my main. My little guy is only 5 months old so the infant car seat adapter has been so easy to use! Its gone everywhere! I dont even care how bulky it is, that thing is versatile and smooth af. I have a summer stroller a friend gave us as a lighter on the go stroller for when he gets older.
Totally dependent on your lifestyle and needs! I live on a dirt road so the best stroller for me has been a BOB. Given my choice in a stroller with insane suspension - an infant car seat with an adapter was necessary. I had purchased a used Chicco Keyfit 35 from a friend who was one and done because it doesnt expire until 2030 and came with two cardiac seat bases for each of our vehicles!
I strongly preferred babywearing on trails from birth. You might want to look into that! Jogging strollers (Thule/Bob) usually have good suspension for trails. I have a Bob All Terrain Pro that is great!
I have two strollers: a jogging stroller (Bob all terrain pro, this was great in the snow) and a travel stroller (Ergobaby Metro). I prefer to babywear when I’m out and about so I definitely don’t need a third stroller. I think your stroller needs depend a lot on your lifestyle and where you live.
Bugaboo donkey 5, bugaboo fox 5 renew, or BOB all terrain pro (I have the last 2 I suggested), best purchases ever. Especially the BOB. It goes through snow, ice, grass, sand, etc with 0 problem.
BOB! The best stroller I’ve ever had. I had the all terrain pro. We went through the Smokey mountains, sand, crap loads of snow, etc. literally just the best money ever spent hahaha.
Commenting to agree. I’ve lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and then back to Ontario - it’s been through snow, sand, country lift, etc and it’s still in almost perfect condition.
BOB all terrain with car seat adaptor ! The best stroller I’ve ever owned.
Agreed. Another vote for BOB! I also bought a used one, I believe it’s an all terrain pro. A true beast. The only reason I can still go on winter neighbourhood walks with baby.
