Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
You can also get an adapter for the Bob jogger so you can make it a travel system. That’s what I have, so we got a used Bob for $250 cad and a new Britax car seat with the adaptor to clip it on.
I got a 2019 used BOB stroller for $250 cad and you can get an adaptor so different car seats can clip in. We bought a new Britax car seat and it clips in super nice. I’m not a runner but lots of walking and on trails so that’s why we got a jogger. It maneuvers so nice too and the front wheel can be fixed if we want it from swivelling. I don’t know how heavy it is but it folds up easy enough and I don’t find it too heavy. We also have a large SUV so I’m not worried about space.
Just get the Bob with the free wheel option, that fucker will go anywhere you push it. then just get a cheap umbrella stroller for tight spaces. You can stress over lots of decisions but i'll die on this hill.
We bought a used Vista and Bob for neighborhood walks. We actually like the Bob better - the vista is very bulky. For day to day and travel we got the Minu. We LOVE it! Collapses easily into the trunk or on the plane. Wheels good enough for suburbia.
I have several different items, so here’s my take - -Bob jogging stroller system. We actually won it and love it for walks around the neighborhood (we have a gravel hilly driveway and live in the country), going on hiking trails, going in the snow, etc. It is a BIG stroller though. It folds but did not fit well in my old small hatchback (Mercedes GLB). It came with the car seat, which is nice but we didn’t really use because we already had the Uppababy system. -Uppababy Vista and Mesa car seat. We purchased a V2 before prices skyrocketed. It really is a nice stroller, very smooth and great for grocery shopping, general activities, malls, etc. I was able to get it in my old hatchback but took some effort. We plan on 2 kids though and that was a big deciding factor. We used the Mesa until my LO grew out of it. -Nuna Rava. Expensive but it is a REALLY nice seat. It is on the larger side but easy to install. -Uppababy Rove. Also a nice seat but I like the Rava better. We have this one in my husbands truck we don’t use as much. -Tushbaby diaper cross body bag. I LOVE this bag. It’s basically a large crossbody but has ample space for extra diapers, wipes, treats, etc. it’s light, cute, and great to use as a combo purse and diaper bag. I bought a fancy dog poop bag holder from Royce and have that clipped on the outside to hold my munchkin diaper disposal bags. -Diaper backpack. I just have an off name brand but I love having a backpack versus huge tote bag. I actually mostly use my Tushbaby and have a separate little cooler bottle bag for the bottles. Edit for formatting
Stroller - In my humble opinion / opinion experience, the BOB stroller with a swivel front wheel - it can lock forward - is fantastic. Excellent for its price point. Bob. I love you. Durable, easy to push, great errand and jogging stroller. Will be a comfy & shady spot for a child for 3-4 years. Ours had more miles than my car since we walk / jog a lot. There are other brands but this one is built to last and has great details. You can push different ones around in a store to see what you like though. Stroller / Car seat combo - not super important, depending? IMHO… we did this just for errands. For early days with the newborn car seat, there’s a car seat attachment for BOB, or a snap in cheap stroller suffices to live in the car for errands. Car seat - newborn to 20ish pounds / 1-2 year rear facing car seats are good - they’re relative tanks meant to protect delicate little ones. Is Graco still the standard? Once your child is older and front facing, it’s somewhat more about comfort, and the size of your specific child and car, etc. (In my experience, the car seats that are designed to convert / grow from newborn to 2-3 years old are more unwieldy. They’re trying to do everything and it’s easier to get one of each.
