I feel like I’m supposed to like the Thule Urban glide better because it’s always top rated, or BoB. But I went to Bambi Baby to compare and like the Uppababy Ridge way better! I know the Thule is lighter but I found the brake more annoying and the stroller much more difficult to fold! The BoB way finder seat felt cheap- didn’t have the revolution flex to try. The Ridge felt easier to brake, more comfortable handlebar material, easier harness, and much easier stroller folding mechanism and front wheel lock and unlock mechanism. Plus I liked the phone pocket and water bottle holder! Are there others who agree with me so I’m not going crazy! Plus I have the UB car seat that I can get the adapters for.
We have a BOB and love it. It's pretty big and heavy so it's not great if you have to carry it on public transport or anything like that, but it's awesome for sidewalks, janky sidewalks, dirt roads, wide trails, jogging, and everything in between. It lasted through two kids really well.
We have 4 strollers currently and will be reassessing our strollers shortly with the arrival of number 2! We will likely get rid of a few. We bought the Vista V2 when it still came with the bassinet. We live in the PNW and it was really important to my mental health that I could get out on the trails. The suspension on the Vista is awesome. I can handle almost any trail (without stairs or sand) easily without the handle shaking my hands. Uppababy (UB) stands behind their products and the strollers also hold a lot of resale value. They replaced parts that broke during air travel. I wanted a stroller that I could add another kid onto because we knew we wanted more. It was amazing for postpartum because of the bassinet and how easy it was to push. I got the cozy Ganoosh and was still able to get outside on cold days. It was annoying to get out of the car and it had major pros and cons while traveling. The storage is also incredible. I can grocery shop, go on long adventures, and basically do a whole road trip by using the basket beneath. We're using it a lot less during the toddler years because she's walking. We use our travel stroller a lot more. We will likely keep this for our second so we can have both kids on the trails. However, we may also reassess, sell this, and get a side by side or wagon instead because I have heard this is hard to push and maneuver with two kids. Baby Jogger City (old version): this came from a buy nothing group. It is okay, a little tough to fold, and seems not to have held up well for a second child. When I have the energy it will go back to the Buy Nothing Group. Misleading because it's not actually a jogging stroller. Bob Wayfinder Jogging Stroller: bought this for my husband. He likes it a lot and uses it all the time but I find it a lot harder to handle and steer than my Vista. I'm also short so I find this is too talk for me. Travel stroller: Bugaboo Butterfly: I bought this and the Minu v3 at the same time. I returned it and kept the Minu v3 The butterfly is great. Now that we've having two I wish I had kept both because it is now so much more expensive with the tariffs. Minu v3: We have switched to this as our everyday stroller. I really love this one. It has a nest for newborn compatibility so I won't have to carry a bassinet. It folds up so small and it pushes great. It is light enough to carry up and down the stairs but the push isn't nearly as smooth as the Vista. The basket is also tiny. I have to pack a different diaper bag when I use this stroller. I agonized over the choices and We will definitely be getting a double travel stroller for two but will likely keep most of the others as there will be times when I want to have just one kid with me or be able to jog or tackle trails. There are tons of cheaper travel strollers (the Bombi is one I'm super interested in) but I am glad I splurged. Strollers are a big "quality of life" changer. Yes, you can get a cheap stroller. A Graco will definitely get the job done. But if you're doing a lot of walking it is much more enjoyable with a higher quality product. Using my sister's Graco is annoying and stops me from wanting to adventure when I have to push it.
I also bought a secondhand Bob way finder that was at least 5 years old. That thing is a beast. Easily pushed through 2-3 inches of snow and ice though I haven't yet had the chance to try it in deeper snow. Had excellent traction in slick areas too.
I also vote BOB I live in a bigger city but the cities attitude toward snow removal on sidewalks and side streets is “the good lord put it there and the good lord will take it away”. My bubs loves stroller walks and we rely on them to get through his last wake window or he loses it. Our stroller has taken in the challenge like a champ! We have the wayfinder I found for a steal on marketplace.
I have a BOB wayfinder stroller, though I’ve also heard Thule is really good. Love it! That thing can take on some really tough terrain that our other regular 4 wheel stroller couldn’t dream of. It’s great for the snow and I take bubs for a walk daily and with the snow we’ve had this year this thing was worth it. There are a bunch on marketplace - both BOB and Thule and many are in good condition. Keep an eye out.
My baby is almost 9 months. The bucket seat is useful but not an absolute must have. I carried my baby around in the bucket seat itself a lot more mainly for in and out for appointments. Grocery shopping I would carry him in a wrap or carrier. Actually clicking in the seat to the stroller though I only have done it maybe 3 or 4 times ever. Most of the time I’d use the bassinet attachment. I’d say you have a good pick in stroller. I originally got your standard 4 wheel city style stroller and by winter got a BOB stroller because of the snow and the terrible job at plowing my city does. My baby loves stroller walks and if you are an outdoorsy person a 3 wheel all-terrain stroller is fantastic.
First, decide if you want a jogging stroller, or not. That cuts down your (many!) options. Then look at the reviews: what are people saying is durable, easy-to-use, safe, etc? Cut out anything with less-than-stellar reviews. Then look at your price point. What's the max you want to spend? Are you interested in second-hand, or want brand new? Any colors you like? What brand carries those colors? Ask friends and family if they recommend any: sometimes first-hand experience makes all the difference! For what it's worth, I wanted a jogging stroller so I got the BOB Wayfinder travel system. It's around $800 but you can find deals and sales on Amazon (I got it for $400). I HIGHLY recommend this one if you're looking for a jogging stroller travel system: been using it for a year now and it's been fantastic.
I have the BOB Wayfinder travel system. My kid is 10 months old and still fits in the car seat, though he is growing fast. I love it.
If your goal isn’t actually jogging, I think any all terrain stroller would work. Find something with big wheels that work with the rest of your lifestyle (do you want something easy to fold, light, small etc). The baby jogger strollers are light while still being all terrain and may be a better fit for your needs honestly. We have Bob wayfinder and love it, but it’s expensive. My husband is a big runner and will go 2+ hours with our baby, otherwise we would just get something cheaper.
I mean I'm glad you found something that works for you! I can't honestly say I've ever noticed most of those features on my jogging stroller haha. I don't think the Bob wayfinder is their top of the line stroller but I got my Bob revolution for free and it's has been through hell and back — still kicking! Also, it's good to note (in case you didn't know, I know some people are blindsided by it) that jogging with an infant in a car seat in the jogging stroller is not recommended use; the recommended use is for strolling only still until they can sit up. But still nice if you're going to use it on rougher terrain or use the jogging stroller as your everyday stroller!
Yup super lifestyle dependent, but OP, we walk a lot and a good stroller is truly my #1 "worth the splurge" item. I've put hundreds and hundreds of miles on that thing in 2 years, have used it for weekly grocery trips with the bottom loaded up, every park trip, on gravel and flat packed dirt paths. Every time I borrow or use someone else's, I am always happy to have mine back again. We have the Vista V2 but I also love (and own) a BOB jogging stroller and find them similarly robust and useful, just has less flexibility with the age/seat direction/bassinet, etc. They're both huge and annoying in the car but because it's mainly going from the house to outside, that doesn't bother us.
