Check out the brand Bombi. Pretty minimalist stroller. Super lightweight. We got it for travel specifically but we always grab that instead of our Nuna. It's just so much more friendly out and about. And way cheaper.
I have a bombi single travel and I love it. No complaints! Looking to get the double as well.
Seconding this! I spent a lot of time researching travel strollers, and I think for the price the Bombi is the best. I was worried that it wouldn’t fit in the overhead bin because of the weight, but it actually fit in easily. And even though it’s on the heavier end of the travel strollers, it didn’t feel heavy to me. Just to add— it’s also an easy one handed steer and I love that the canopy shade extends. My daughter also likes to sit upright so she can easily look around, and we both like how upright it gets, but it can also recline back for her to lay down when tired. The seatbelt buckle is easy (pointing this out because the buckle in my daughter’s old stroller was such a pain). So happy with it!
Agreed. We are in the city and travel a good amount so we are planning to get a Bombi which is a more affordable travel stroller but still has all the good stuff/solid quality, and is also good for neighborhood walks on our small side walks. My friend has one and loves it, I got to try it out and it seems to be exactly what we want.
So I have a stroller dilemma for our next trip to Washington D.C. (and any other future trips) with our almost 2yo toddler. I’ve been able to just babywear him in the past and skip a stroller, but our trip last month to New Orleans I got a cheap umbrella stroller while we were there because it was getting to be a lot to back wear my 27lb kiddo for miles every day. It was honestly a life saver! But my question is - what should I do for our upcoming trip to Washington D.C.? I have a Bombi travel stroller which is a great, compact stroller with lots of features. My main concern however is handling this stroller on public transit. We aren’t staying right in DC so we need to take the subway into town. I could manage with this stroller, but I’m wondering if having a lighter weight stroller (like an umbrella stroller) would actually be better since I could back wear my toddler and hand carry the stroller if going up/down stairs or needing to move quickly, which I wouldn’t really be able to do with the Bombi. So my multiple questions are… \*\*1) Do I bring my cheap $15 Walmart umbrella stroller instead of the Bombi?\*\* It doesn’t maneuver very well, but it gets the job done, and is super light weight. \*\*2) Get a nicer umbrella stroller (preferably one that is $100 or less)? If so, what strollers do you recommend?\*\* I was looking at some other brands, like the Jeep one, which is nice because it has storage that I can toss my purse into and a sun hood (the Walmart one doesn’t). But I’m not sure if it will still be frustrating to maneuver or if it is worth getting yet another stroller. \*\*3) Bring the Bombi?\*\* It will definitely be the nicest stroller to push, but will be difficult to hand carry with my toddler due to the stroller’s weight and bulk (even though it is more compact than full sized strollers). I can always find elevators/accessible routes, but I like the flexibility that babywearing and an umbrella stroller will give me vs this stroller. Regardless I plan on still baby wearing and bringing my carrier, but the stroller is there to supplement this during our travels! And one last note - we are hoping to have 1 more kid eventually so if your recommended stroller/setup has more longevity, even better!
OP I’d like to second the ready2jet as someone who relies on the car—I was hauling my mockingbird in and out of the car and it was soooo heavy. The travel stroller is awesome. Bombi also has a lightweight single stroller that can be used from birth without attachments! If you get the car seat strap it can also hold a bucket seat (I know that’s an attachment, but you don’t need to use the car seat if you don’t want to!) it goes up to 55 lbs
