So I don’t unfortunately know of anywheres you can go check out strollers but I wanted to put a suggestion of a stroller out there! The Bombi Bebee has been our go to and I regret not getting it earlier, they just came out with a new one too the V3 which has a lot of awesome upgrades from the one we have. It’s a small business based in Rhode Island and they focus on be eco friendly!!
We went with the whole travel system when we had our daughter and it was so bulky and we barely used the bassinet. The stroller portion seemed so uncomfortable as well, if I could do it all over again I would have just gotten the Bombi Stroller with car seat adapters. It’s lightweight, compact, and has plenty of storage. They just came out with the V3 that can be used from birth-55lbs with a built in bassinet, I’ve never had issues with going on different terrains but they do sell all terrain wheels.
We have the Bombi Bebee V2 and we absolutely love it!! It’s compact, one handed fold/unfold, great on all terrains and has an amazing XL sunshade. The V2 has a near flat recline but they just came out with the V3 that has many new awesome upgrades including being for birth-55lbs with a built in bassinet option! Bombi also has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced!
Seconding the Bombi V3!! We have the V2 and absolutely love it, we even preordered the V3 then they announced their wagon and we got that instead. The V3 is compact with an amazing fold/unfold, xl sun canopy, adjustable footrest and a flat recline with option to make it into a bassinet making it suitable for newborn-55lbs!
I would say the Bombi Bebee V3. It has an amazing one hand fold/unfold, it’s lightweight, compact and it’s designed to use from birth to 55lbs. It comes with its own travel bag and you can purchase car seat adapters.
I vote for the Bombi Bebee V3. I purchased a secondhand Bombi Bebee V1 off Facebook marketplace last year to use as a travel stroller and liked it so much I recently upgraded to the latest version. My brother has the Colugo travel stroller for his son who is on the higher percentile. He doesn’t like it very much. If your child is on the higher percentile go for the Bombi Bebee travel stroller. You can purchase the bigger wheels set for rougher terrain.
If you want budget, I really like my Bombi, and they just released the V3. I'm thinking of buying the wheel upgrade, but I walk a lot and it has handled sidewalks, brick, cobblestones, and direct really well. It is also truly one hand open and fold. I hold my baby while opening and closing it, and it is easy peasy. I also like that it has a little kickstand. So many use the handle as the prop keeping it up.
I have an UPPAbaby Cruz that I use 90% of the time. I have a bombi travel stroller I got because when packing to visit my parents, my Cruz took up so much space and I usually baby wore but still wanted a stroller on hand.
We loved over UPPAbaby stroller. Their customer service has been great. However, I wish I'd gotten a one hand open and close stroller. UB doesn't have that except for the new minu, which is a travel stroller. Nuna supposedly has one. I ended up buying a bombi as a travel stroller. It works really well so far.
Unfortunately you'll most likely have to gate check your stroller even if it fits in the overhead bin, would you be open to getting a mid size stroller instead of getting 2 strollers (one full size + 1 travel stroller)? That way it's less heavy and bulky than a full size stroller, but sturdier and more capable than a travel stroller. There are a few more options coming out in that medium size category soon. The Silver Cross Breez (already out but next shipment is June), the Peg Perego City Loop Pro (coming out in July), UppaBaby Kona (coming out in the fall, doesn't seem to lay as flat as the Peg Perego and the Silver Cross ones and is heavier than both).
Bombi BeBee v3 is not newborn lie-flat (they say it is but there is definitely a decent incline). Joolz Aer : the way the bassinet folds down is an inconvenience. The nia felt sturdier than the aer2 (tried both in store). The Cybex Eesy Twist S +2 might be a good option. The European version has a proper lay flat seat, the american version has a slight incline. Yoyo: this stroller sucks, I don't get the hype.
I have the Bombi Bebee V2. I got it for ~$180 from one of those "used" baby gear websites (product was actually new). It checked all of our boxes, so there was no need to spend $350+ on the other popular/pricey options. It's very sturdy (metal frame), lightweight (very much so when compared to my regular mockingbird - and yes it fit in the overhead compartment, but only on a longhaul/international flight), the wheels are respectable and actually have decent tread (did well on the cobblestone roads during our trip to Edinburgh). The basket was perfectly fine for carrying the diaper bag and a few other things. Meets your other criteria regarding footrest, handlebar, and upright/nap modes. I would recommend checking out the newer V3 though, as they improved the upright position from 28 degrees down to 15. That is probably the only thing about the V2 that we didn't like.
It’s amazing! Mine just came in! I used it yesterday
Just got the Bombi v3 and loveee it!
