So I don’t unfortunately know of anywheres you can go check out strollers but I wanted to put a suggestion of a stroller out there! The Bombi Bebee has been our go to and I regret not getting it earlier, they just came out with a new one too the V3 which has a lot of awesome upgrades from the one we have. It’s a small business based in Rhode Island and they focus on be eco friendly!!
We’re one and done so don’t need a double but if we had 2 kiddos and we’re going to Disney I would 100% want a double stroller. I will look into the Bombi Bebee twin stroller or the Zoe The Twin stroller, they’re both lightweight strollers that fold up compact so perfect for travel but are rugged for everyday use. We have the Bombi Bebee single stroller for our daughter and we love it!!! I would also suggest you check out The Stroller Mom on YouTube she does several videos on the best strollers for Disney and she usually has discount codes as well!
If you want budget, I really like my Bombi, and they just released the V3. I'm thinking of buying the wheel upgrade, but I walk a lot and it has handled sidewalks, brick, cobblestones, and direct really well. It is also truly one hand open and fold. I hold my baby while opening and closing it, and it is easy peasy. I also like that it has a little kickstand. So many use the handle as the prop keeping it up.
I have an UPPAbaby Cruz that I use 90% of the time. I have a bombi travel stroller I got because when packing to visit my parents, my Cruz took up so much space and I usually baby wore but still wanted a stroller on hand.
We loved over UPPAbaby stroller. Their customer service has been great. However, I wish I'd gotten a one hand open and close stroller. UB doesn't have that except for the new minu, which is a travel stroller. Nuna supposedly has one. I ended up buying a bombi as a travel stroller. It works really well so far.
The new Bombi v3 goes flat or very near it because it’s newborn safe. It’s $225. I have the v2 and love it!
I have the Bombi and our Chicco car seat sits in it fine without an adapter. It’s not snapped in so obviously you have to be careful going over bumps but for around the airport it’s plenty secure. The Bombi has one hand fold and I got it for $130 on good buy gear! It’s great!
They’re all pretty similar for the most part as best as I can tell. We looked at some expensive ones but ended up with the Bombi. It retails for $226 but I got it for $100 new and open box on Good Buy Gear. For 1-2 times a year I’d just pick something reasonably priced myself, you don’t need the latest and greatest.
Yes exactly! And it does everything the more expensive ones do: one handed fold, fits in the overhead bin, good storage space, etc. I also was just looking at their website and the latest version lies down more flat to be newborn compatible. It’s really a steal of a price (still $225!)
I have a Bombi travel stroller that I got for $100 on Good Buy Gear. Love it for these kinds of outings & air travel.
Just adding on to say you’re going to be fine with the Bombi! I’m a former DC burbs resident who’s going back this weekend with my Bombi and my 16 month old 😃
Agreed. We are in the city and travel a good amount so we are planning to get a Bombi which is a more affordable travel stroller but still has all the good stuff/solid quality, and is also good for neighborhood walks on our small side walks. My friend has one and loves it, I got to try it out and it seems to be exactly what we want.
I personally love our Bombi travel stroller. Comes with a bag and we also purchased the snack tray and infant car seat strap.
So I have a stroller dilemma for our next trip to Washington D.C. (and any other future trips) with our almost 2yo toddler. I’ve been able to just babywear him in the past and skip a stroller, but our trip last month to New Orleans I got a cheap umbrella stroller while we were there because it was getting to be a lot to back wear my 27lb kiddo for miles every day. It was honestly a life saver! But my question is - what should I do for our upcoming trip to Washington D.C.? I have a Bombi travel stroller which is a great, compact stroller with lots of features. My main concern however is handling this stroller on public transit. We aren’t staying right in DC so we need to take the subway into town. I could manage with this stroller, but I’m wondering if having a lighter weight stroller (like an umbrella stroller) would actually be better since I could back wear my toddler and hand carry the stroller if going up/down stairs or needing to move quickly, which I wouldn’t really be able to do with the Bombi. So my multiple questions are… \*\*1) Do I bring my cheap $15 Walmart umbrella stroller instead of the Bombi?\*\* It doesn’t maneuver very well, but it gets the job done, and is super light weight. \*\*2) Get a nicer umbrella stroller (preferably one that is $100 or less)? If so, what strollers do you recommend?\*\* I was looking at some other brands, like the Jeep one, which is nice because it has storage that I can toss my purse into and a sun hood (the Walmart one doesn’t). But I’m not sure if it will still be frustrating to maneuver or if it is worth getting yet another stroller. \*\*3) Bring the Bombi?\*\* It will definitely be the nicest stroller to push, but will be difficult to hand carry with my toddler due to the stroller’s weight and bulk (even though it is more compact than full sized strollers). I can always find elevators/accessible routes, but I like the flexibility that babywearing and an umbrella stroller will give me vs this stroller. Regardless I plan on still baby wearing and bringing my carrier, but the stroller is there to supplement this during our travels! And one last note - we are hoping to have 1 more kid eventually so if your recommended stroller/setup has more longevity, even better!
I just got a Bombi travel stroller, and I love it! It has a snack tray, large basket, easy to buckle, and one hand fold. I got it open box for $150 (plus the snack tray).
The metro is fantastic for accessibility- all stations have elevators and escalators. Finding accessible routes is mostly just the regular routes, maybe looking for the wheelchair icon that’ll denote the elevator exit. I have a bombi too and used to use it on metro/around town all the time and it was great. I would bring the Bombi as you will rarely need to fold it and carry it in DC. Sometimes elevators are out for repairs, but they’re good about posting it so you can adjust your plans: https://wmata.com/service/elevators-escalators/Elevator-Escalator-Service-Status.cfm Have a great trip and feel free to PM me if you have any DC-specific questions!
Just adding I “used to” use the bombi bc my now 3 year old doesn’t need it anymore, it’s not a problem with the stroller!
We have the Bombi too. It’s nice to not worry about it getting roughly handled during travel since it’s much cheaper than most strollers. Features aren’t as luxe as our regular stroller (UB Cruz) but it doesn’t really bother us for the couple times a year it’s getting used.
