I bought one! I like it. For the price point it functions so well and is great in the boot if my car. It's not the best on different terrains, but what travel pram is? I haven't taken it on a plane yet. But so far I'd recommend it
We went for the Britax cabin stroller - we did look around and tested a few but it seemed this one was the same quality as some of the more expensive ones. It comes with travel bag and cup holder and is on sale at Big W at the moment. It reclines quite far back, has a very easy fold (easier than some of the more expensive) and has a good sized basket.
We took the safe and sound travel cabin stroller to Europe with us earlier this year and couldn’t fault it. Folds flat to go in overhead lockers on the plane, takes up hardly any space, is light enough to carry easily. My baby is older, but it reclines flat and she was able to nap well in it. The suspension isn’t great so going over bumpy surfaces requires a little extra effort but overall could not fault it. I was dead against laying hundreds of $$ for a pram when I already have a bugaboo for every day use. This one was around $200 from big w and I don’t regret it at all :)
We started out with the britax travel set up. Came with a jogger stroller and infant car seat that popped in the stroller. Can be placed in a car with a seat belt and no base if necessary. Its lasted us 4 kids, still looks great. I still use the jogger stroller for my 1 year old. But also I had purchased the britax double stroller since it was all compatible and I had my kids close together. And I have a decent umbrella stroller for tight spaces and easy grab and go. But, the jogger stroller is definitely the most durable, good quality and still glides quiet and smoothly after 7 years.
Totally agree with this. 12 years ago with my first it was the big UppaBaby. I had a bunch of friends with it but it was also like $1200 at the time and that was just a ridiculous amount for a single stroller. I got a Britax that was similar and way less expensive and even at about 26 pounds, it was fairly heavy to get in and out of the car and huge. I thought it would be great because we knew we wanted a second kid so we could buy the second seat. I was over that within a few weeks of my son’s birth and got the lighter Britax stroller. When we had our second I tried the big Britax and it was so heavy and so unwieldy to get in and out of the car that I sold it and got the Britax side by side double stroller. It was great. Easier to get in and out of the car, easier to push and maneuver, and had a huge basket underneath. I used stroller hooks for my diaper bag so I could get in and out of it easily and never ran out of space underneath the stroller, even during all day outings and multiple day Disney trips. I only had one friend with a wagon and she barely used it before going back to a double stroller.
I went with a travel system from Britax. I lived in Toronto for my first, so the bucket clicked in when baby was tiny and then the attachments get removed so the underneath is the seat with adjustable shoulder straps. I liked it as it folds down for storage and has lots of spaces for holding your stuff. We ended up going with other Britax car seats as they have the ClickTight technology
Short answer: no. Your baby, your choice! Yes, you can go a long time carrying baby in a well made carrier. However, carriers themselves can be quite bulky. I personally already had a bad back before my pregnancies, and even with a fancy LilleBaby complete with a backpad, I struggled once my baby was over six months due to weight. You can always opt for a more light weight/low profile stroller. I lived in a large city with my first child (Toronto), so I opted for a Britax that folded in half. I could jerk it open with one hand (pull) and I've gotten to the point where I can open it completely one-handed.
Yes, I loved using ours. We had the britax one with the entire travel system. Maybe good item to search on FB marketplace if you don’t want to spend too much.
We got the Britax system in pieces as gifts from family as we were committed to safety including the lack of certain fire retardant chemicals that are known to cause cancer, neurological damage, reproductive harm, endocrine disruption... PFAS and other harmful chemicals being normalized isn't acceptable to us. Just because we live in a world where there is rampant exposure doesn't mean we want to comply with that status quo if we have a choice for our baby. It'll be in so many other things we don't consider or know about yet, but we can control at least a very early exposure vector and hopefully give our baby some advantage compared to just not trying. Once I learned and understood it better I just couldn't get anything else. We were blessed by family and friends who accommodated buying from a set list of clothes and toys to support us with our choices and we were mindful to not overspend on things like excess toys, clothes, supplies. Didn't do it with my first because I just didn't know and was poor. Am able to do so with my second so I'm trying. I feel responsible for the knowledge I have now to not just be complicit with it :/ thankfully I didn't know what I do now or I'd have agonized over another thing in the face of PPD back then. We regularly donate and try to find moms who need support but can't afford these items so we can remove that barrier when possible.
