I would absolutely recommend getting a higher-end stroller, but only second-hand. We have a Bugaboo Buffalo for all-terrain stuff (we live in the country) and a Bugaboo Ant for shopping and going into the city. We spent a fraction of the new price for both (I think less than €200 total) by buying from Facebook Marketplace. When I’ve tried other strollers, I’ve been struck by how much harder they are to manoeuvre than the Bugaboos, and how easily the wheels get stuck. The only thing that annoys me with the Bugaboos is that they’re a bit of a pain to fold, but otherwise I absolutely recommend them.
r/Buyingforbaby • Are “luxury” strollers actually worth it? ->I got the Chicco Bravo 3 in 1 travel system at my baby shower and love it! I keep it in the car since the car seat attaches to it. I also got a barely used Bugaboo Ant off Facebook Marketplace to keep inside the house, and I love it as a compact & lightweight travel/short errands stroller.
r/NewParents • Strollers ->Can you find a bugaboo ant on fb marketplace? It’s the model before the butterfly so doesn’t have the one hand hold but it is cabin approved. It also lies flat in parent facing mode and sits upright. We’ve travelled with it and a buggy board, when kids were 2 and 6 months, and 3.5 and 1 (different trips, we don’t have 4 kids!). The eldest is happy on the board and loves chatting to the youngest if the pram is in parent facing mode.
r/UKParenting • Choosing a compact travel stroller that I can use with a buggy board ->3, a basinette, a travel bugaboo & a thule jogger. don’t use the basinette anymore currently.
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->We replaced the minu which I hated with the bugaboo whatever small travel sized one is and love that. $140 for a playmat is wild. I think we had a $20 wal mart one. Agree with Chico car seat and now the cosco one. I forget the model but inexpensive
r/NewParents • Product Regrets: 3mos in! ->Bugaboo and yoyo for travel for us. Friends didn’t get on with the silver cross, difficult to fold down without losing a finger!
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Choosing pram. Recommendations? ->We tested them out at a local baby store. All our friends have the Uppa baby and we tested it but we HATED it. It felt so heavy, we liked the nuna and bugaboo and ultimately chose bugaboo because with dual stroller the bassinet is on top so you can see your newborn, where as nuna (and uppa) put the bassinet on the bottom???
r/pregnant • HOW DO I PICK A TRAVEL SYSTEM?! ->So far we love it! LO is due in two weeks but I put it together myself (it was fairly easy) and we have tested it out a bunch. We keep practicing folding it and unfolding it so we don’t have any issues when we actually have the baby and it *looks* like we know what we are doing lol
r/pregnant • HOW DO I PICK A TRAVEL SYSTEM?! ->We have 2 strollers and 2 carseats. We have the Uppa Baby Vista V3. We went to a stroller store before we bought it and the guy was directing all city parents to the Uppa Baby and all suburban parents to the Nuna. He was absolutely right. We lived in NYC and the Uppa Baby had these big wheels that could navigate terrible uneven sidewalks without launching the kid out. The Nuna is equally a high-cost brand, but it doesn't take terrain and abuse like the Uppa Baby. When we travel or as our kid got older, we bought the Bugaboo Travel Stroller. We liked it because it could fit in the overhead compartment, could open with one hand, and the canopy didn't bang against your hands as you pushed it (which the Nuna travel did and annoyed me). Both those strollers are compatible with the Nuna Pipa Lite carseat which is hands down the best carseat on the market. It's so lightweight and yet sturdy. Remember, your kid packs on lbs quickly, so even the Doona becomes a serious pain to lift in and out of your car. When he aged out of the Pipa we got the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim and it's been awesome. Toddlers are messy, so I'm glad we went with an affordable convertible car seat option instead of the Nuna or a similar expensive brand.
r/BabyBumps • How did you choose a stroller and car seat? ->We use the bugaboo travel stroller. I have a nuna but it’s so heavy. The bugaboo can open and close w one hand and pick up and put in the trunk with one hand. The lays 80% flat, so that’s not ideal. At 4 months, I liked to watch my baby. Travel strollers are forward facing. Probably not great for a 4 month with not great neck control. We got ours when she turned 6 months.
r/NewParents • Stroller that’s easy for going out & about with just mom and baby ->Loved our Maxi Cosi bassinet and rocker chair. Equally loved our Chicco KeyFit 35 and the snap in stroller frame. Once I went back to work, I gave the seat and stroller frame to my MIL since she takes care of him during the day. I then got the Chicco Fit360 and Bugaboo travel stroller—love those! Product regrets: baby bath tub, Burt’s Bees baby towels and sheets, wipe warmer, Honest bath products, Munchkin swinging chair, and Baby Brezza bottle washer Product loves: Angel Care bath seat (super useful with having a preemie), softer baby sheets from some random brand from Marshall’s/TJ Maxx, Dr. Browns drying tower, Mama Bear diapers (Amazon brand), Pillow Fort toddler towels, diaper genie, Nanit (was gifted)
