We have a bugaboo fox 5 for walking the dog and it’s been pretty great on all terrains. The wheels come off and easy to clean, smooth and not too bumpy on rough ground We’ve just been away and got a bugaboo butterfly 2, so pleased with it. Was allowed in overhead lockers on the plane, folds up tiny and light weight - thought I wanted the joolz aer but felt flimsy compared to the butterfly. We still use the fox 5 at home and long walks but the butterfly for quick trips out The accessories are interchangeable too which saved a bit of money Granted it’s a minefield though!

I started out with the uppababy vista that I managed to get like new for a good price. Bought the car seat adapter which was critical in those early months but that sucker is MASSIVE. Took up my whole trunk and all things considered, pretty heavy. We got the bugaboo butterfly 2 and it’s great for all the reasons you listed but it is in no way as sturdy. Still great, but we struggle much more on uneven terrain, gravel. But it’s light, one handed close, great for traveling, can fit in an overhead bin so it’s compact. Might be tough in your neighborhood. I’d recommend test driving them in a target or Nordstrom to get the feel for them! Target upgraded their options significantly in the past few months

We ended up with three strollers lol. We have a Bob running stroller that is AMAZING but bulky, so we don’t take it on the bus or to daycare. For that, we use a travel stroller, the Buggaboo Butterfly 2 (we also have a rowhouse, so it’s much lighter carrying up and down our front steps each day but still handles the sidewalks like a champ). I would absolutely not bring a jogging stroller for errands - having the smaller travel stroller is MUCH better for this, but we don’t often go out and about using the car either, so really depends on how you personally will be using the stroller and what your daily life is kinda like. When kiddo was tiny, we used the Graco Prammete with the bassinet, since it also allowed connection to our Graco car seat. You also mentioned snow - we recently had a huge snowstorm that shut down the city for weeks, since it basically all turned to ice (coined snowcrete lol). None of our strollers could handle that, not even the Bob. We used a hiking backpack since it felt much safer.

We also started with the Graco prammette, but recently upgraded to the Bugaboo Butterfly 2. The bassinet feature was AMAZING when he was tiny since we live in a very urban area and do lots of walking. Though agreed, it’s a little wobbly depending on how you position them in it. However, our kiddo is big (95+ percentile) and very quickly outgrew the bassinet weight limit (around 3 months) and now even the normal stroller seat is too small for his booty/thighs (he’s not even 5 months 😅). The Bugaboo is miles above and beyond the Graco. It’s ridiculous. It’s so much more smooth, significantly lighter for carrying down our rowhouse steps, and he fits so well in it/seems so much more comfortable. In hindsight, I probably would have opted for the Bugaboo system with the bassinet, but we still get good mileage from the Graco since it clicks in with his car seat (we now just leave it in the car for dr appts).

We also love our bugbaboo butterfly2! I do feel like the harness moves a lot but no rethread harnesses are new to me. I can’t keep much in the basket for my full size stroller and still have it fold … that kind of just seems like regular physics?

Aww. It’s annoying that it doesn’t fold in the pramette mode but tbh, I always disassembled it because it was too heavy for me to lift all together (part of the reason I’m moving towards the butterfly now) & I was likely using the car seat with it anyway for the next usage. That being said, someone gave me a vista v2 as hand-me-down (I know the V3 is a bit lighter so YMMV) but I HATED it. I literally could not move the base around my basement let alone fathom lifting it into my car and that was without a seat attached. We never used it once and gave it away. If it makes you feel any better!

I went Joie ginger with plans to upgrade later. It’s worked for me. We got a bugaboo butterfly 2 later on which has been dream now that baby is sitting up

Hmm I was just testing driving the bugaboo butterfly & I didn’t think it handled the cobblestone patch at the store too well. Other than that I thought it was an A+ stroller

Not sure if OP is American but I don’t think the nest is coming out in the USA

Oh cool, that’s new. It wasn’t there a few weeks ago when I was looking. Everything I read said it wasn’t coming out in the US and that it wouldn’t recline as far. It’s the same as the Bugaboo butterfly. I was knee deep in this a few weeks back 🫠 I don’t think it goes all the way flat though….

See that’s what I was saying about the bugaboo but someone else is saying I’m wrong. But that’s what they told me in the store!

We are also loving our butterfly as a daily use stroller!

I have a Joie ginger as my full sized that I used with my car seat. Now I use the Bugaboo butterfly. IMO, a small travel stroller for outings is critical! You just have to be prepared to baby wear or put them in the shopping cart if you want to really shop with them since the basket isn’t large

Most travel / lightweight strollers are not intended for newborns. For example, the travel stroller we have (bugaboo butterfly 2), recommends using a car seat with adapters for newborn age. They just don’t have the neck control to be able to be in those types of strollers and should really be in a bassinet instead. I’d recommend baby wearing as much as possible and looking into a combo setup of a travel / lightweight stroller with a car seat that can be used with that stroller.

Definitely get the travel pram! Only ever had one pram with my eldest so it’s doable, but now w my youngest who’s 9 months I’ve bought a bugaboo butterfly 2. We have a bugaboo fox as our main pram and it’s massive and I avoid using it because it’s a bit of an effort. And I do school drop off and it’s a walk holding the baby and my back is done! So I bought the damn travel pram, even though my husband was against it. We’re going on an interstate trip in the next school hols so I know it’ll get a workout then too and allow us to have more boot space for the portacot and suitcases. I’ve done a lot of research on travel prams and would recommend the bugaboo butterfly 2, unlikely to be on marketplace yet though, so try the first version.
