We had the Donkey 2 for our twins. Used it for around 3.5 years, it was freaking fantastic. Was quite expensive, about 2500 Canadian all in plus some winter accessories, etc. Was able to sell everything around 1200 bucks to a pair expecting twin parents.
Donkey 2 parent here. I loved that thing! So versatile when we took our boys out. We kept it in pretty good condition and after about 3 years sold it plus many accessories for almost 1200 - 1300 bucks to another couple expecting twins.
My wife convinced me to get a bugaboo donkey and I originally thought she was insane because they were so expensive but it was probably the best piece of twin equipment we bought. We also have 3 big dogs and live in Canada. I was the guy in the This thing was like a tank. Went over snow, ice, grass, dirt, sand, wood chips easily. Very easy to move and turn, folded up really easily into the back of the minivan. Lasted us 4 years with only the most minor of issues. Try to find one on marketplace to reduce the cost or go for an older model. We had the Donkey 2 and it was a life saver. Could not recommend it more. Edit: never had any issues fitting through doors like some other people are saying. It was tight but we made it

I have had the bugaboo donkey2 for 5 yrs and it's still going strong! Still pushes smoothly even with all 3 kids on the stroller, the riding board is placed in a good spot where you aren't constantly kicking it and is excellent in the snow. I can't recommend bugaboo enough and if I only had 1 kid or planned a bigger age gap I would have bought the fox.
I never tried the others so canât speak for best, but we have the bugaboo donkey. Bought a v2 secondhand. It is quite a piece so if you have a smaller car and plan to travel places to go out often maybe not the best as it is quite heavy to carry around. But if you like us use it primarily from the home and need something sturdy but easy to manoeuvre- it is perfect! Newer models are lighter tbf if you can find. They are pricey but lasts for a long time as it can adjust from bassinet to sitting, and the durability means there are good ones to find secondhand.
Got a bugaboo donkey. For us that is perfect! It is easy to manoeuvre as other have mentioned, fits through most doors in our area unless thereâs something blocking. I use ours often as i walk around a city as well as parks so need something sturdy to manage the many curbs, potholes. So if you want a side by side or tandem I think that might be something you need to consider. I know twin parents with the tandem that loves it except(!) the weight distribution when moving up and down and around our at times crappy streets lol. But they only use it extremely occasionally so are ok with it. we got a 2 secondhand, but newer models are available and def. the weight does get better the newer the model.
So we have the bugaboo donkey as well and tbh we love it! We bought ours secondhand, and it came with the car seat adapter. The car seat adapter worked with the car seat we were planning to get regardless. (For us the car seat feature was only a bonus, we used it 4 times.. so not a necessity, just a nicety that worked out) Secondhand you can get them for a very decent price. The main benefit is really that it is sturdy, easy to manoeuvre (at least I find it so), we live in pothole and high curb heavy city centre and we have no issues whatsoever, + it will grow with you until toddler age.
Weâre only 11 months but still forward facing, and I canât see that changing quite yet. I canât see us changing before 1.5 years atm, but honestly I think it will depend on them a lot. Some babies prefer to see their parents, whilst others are just loving to watch the world and might prefer outward facing. We bought ours secondhand! Love love second hand.
I have an older version of the bugaboo donkey and it's my ride or die, I've got a full twin set up and the scooter attachment its amazing! It's also huge and bulky and takes up so much space in the boot of the car
I wouldn't say it's a necessity, but I love our double buggy. I have a bugaboo donkey, and we use it all of the time. My toddler doesn't always want to walk so having the additional seat is really great. Another alternative is scooter board attachments, there are so many different ones for different push chairs đ
I would say yes, i have a 20m age gap between my girls, and even though my toddler loves to walk beside the buggy she still sometimes needs to sit and rest. You could look into a scooter attachment for your pushchair instead of buying a whole new pushchair, I've seen some universal fit ones. But if you do go looking for a new pushchair I love my bugaboo donkey and my best friend has a mountian buggy duet which she loves
I know itâs been a while since your comment but which one did you get? I just purchased a Donkey 2 in very good condition but I havenât seen much feedback on it since itâs an older model. Everything seems to be about the Donkey 5.
