I have the donkey 3, they are all almost the same just some minor differences but trust me when I say in sweden everyone gets a donkey stroller. I have seen some be reselled for a third or fourth time in great condition.
Honestly the bugaboo donkey is THE best. Almost everyone uses it where I live, I have had 3 strollers and the bugaboo is the best one. Look at Facebook marketplace I got mine for $200 off there. It is also worth the price as it can last YEARS
They have it available on albee baby for a discount! I bought last week.
We have the Bugaboo Donkey 5 and it's great. It's sturdy, light and easy to use. And it's just narrow enough that it can get through most store doors and such. We bought it second hand since it's quite expensive though.
I absolutely loved the Bumbleride Era I had with my first. You don’t need a bassinet attachment because the seat itself can lie flat and serve as the bassinet (I think there is an ever so slight incline, but it’s barely noticeable and it honestly made me feel better post feeds and while going downhill). It was such an amazing stroller, so smooth on all terrains (sidewalks of MA, some trails, etc.) I ended up having Irish twins and had to switch to double stroller and got the Bugaboo donkey with bassinet attachment and definitely miss my bumbleride constantly!!! We had a universal carseat adapter for the Era that could fit with our Clek car seat but honestly didn’t use it more than twice
Donkey 5 for sure. I went for the eGazelle because I wanted tandem, but the Donkey 5 was my choice for side by side.
If you can afford this Donkey 5, just go for it. I think you'll find it's worth it. This was my first choice but it just didn't beat the tandem Cybex eGazelle for me.
Unless it's wider than 60cm you shouldn't have any issues. We have been using a bugaboo donkey 5 for three now and never had issues with public transport.
Okay so I love my Bugaboo side by side. Especially because you can use it as a single stroller and but the other one in a carrier on you! My twins were fussy in the stroller when they were smaller so I couldn’t imagine having them below on another.
Yes the Bugaboo donkey 5 Twin (the side by side bassinets). You can either place two bassinets or make the stroller smaller so you only place I bassinet. I’m bad at explaining so bear with me lol. The bugaboo twin is made for two bassinets or two buggy seats. To place two of whatever kind you have to expand the stoller sideways to it becomes wider. You can however leave it in the ‘smaller’ part (there’s secure locks at 3 points) and only place one bassinet or one seat and not be left with a huge gap on the side.
The twin and duo have the same base! The difference is that with the duo you get one bassinet and one seat and with the twin you get two of each.
We also have the Bugaboo Donkey 5 and it’s still going strong almost three years later as a double stroller now—toddler is almost 3, baby is 7 months (got a second seat set for baby). Like OP, I really wanted to buy only one stroller and have it last forever. We did end up also getting a Bugaboo butterfly for travel.
Bugaboo Donkey 5- none better but definitely pricey. Handles beautifully and is gorgeous with great resale value. You can use one bassinet and one seat next to each other then switch to two seats when your infant is bigger
I'm not sure where abouts you are in the world but I'm in the UK, currently 31 weeks expecting Di/Di twins. If you have time, look second hand. I really wanted a side by side one and ended up getting the bugaboo donkey 3 for under £250. I joined the NCT charity and went to their fairs, you get priority entrance for being a member for £3 a month and I would just bee line straight for the pram section! Got the stroller for £75 with the 2 toddler seats, with raincovers and the side bag if I was taking one out by themselves. I then got the bassinets on Ebay, one for £55 and one for £78, then I got the carseat adaptor for the pram for like £35 on Ebay. Everything is in beautiful condition! The only thing that was brand new were the car seats but when we had a baby shower we put the message out to close friends and family that we would prefer vouchers for getting the car seats than clothes etc. We were blessed enough that one of my life long friends and her family actually purchased one for us! All in including the car seats would have been under £750 which is a much better price than £3000!!
