Glad I'm not the only one to come away from JL more confused about what I want! I really struggled to commit to one just based on internet reviews / the John Lewis test drive. I ended up with a Bugaboo Dragonfly (which I LOVE) but I rented it (brand new) from Baboodle with a view to trying out as many prams with the baby as I needed to find the right one. I was stressing about picking the perfect everything and that took the pressure right off. Baboodle also allowed me to realise I hate the Artipoppe sling without pissing away 300 quid on one.
I think there’s a few concepts: 1) travel stroller as only stroller 2) full size stroller as only stroller 3) medium stroller as only stroller 4) you start off thinking you’ll do one of the above, but end up getting a second or third stroller with different functionality by the time your baby is ~6 months old (just about everybody) Personally I think most people want one travel and one full size, so I would just think about what you’d use first, then wait to buy the second when you actually start complaining that it’s not good for every situation. For people who start off with the travel stroller, I think the Joolz Aer makes a lot of sense since it’s got the cool collapsible bassinet. You could add just about any full size stroller later (vista, Cruz, fox) and get it used for like $400 or less For people who start off with a full size, I think the Vista is a good pick for a lot of people just because it’s flexible. There’s a reason it’s so popular. A lot of people like to hate on it online but that’s bc it’s so popular. My issue w it in the city is the bassinet seems hard on the subway. It’s good for walking around your neighborhood Then for medium, I think the Bugaboo Dragonfly is so cool. I really wanted it but it didn’t make sense for us ultimately. I think the medium stroller is hard to justify bc it’s too big for a plane but won’t handle snow.
We love our bugaboo dragonfly! So much storage and such smooth handling.
Bugaboo all the way! I use dragonfly bcos I live in London and want it to be easier to take in the tubes etc but the upper versions are much better. Its. Dutch brand and we did plenty of research before buying one. Also it has a warranty of 4 years. Our pram was broken when we took it for travelling and it was exchanged in a couple of days. The customer service was amazing and hassle free.
Bugaboo Dragonfly, first stroller, bought new but planning to re-sell after we won't need it 🥰
The bugaboo dragonfly works really well in the countryside!! I live in a rural village and I took it up and down somewhat rocky paths multiple times and it was absolutely fine. Not with the bassinet maybe though but once baby is old enough to be strapped in, you’ll be ok.
We have the bugaboo dragonfly as an every day pram. It folds with one button and is relatively compact as far as a whole pram goes. It does really well on all terrain. We also bought the YoYo for travelling and sort of walking around bigger cities which is great but definitely not a stroller for a forest walk.
