I have the Chicco bravo for 2 and I love it since my toddler would prefer to just stand on the kickboard. I like that it’s not any wider than a traditional stroller, but it does have the seat for my toddler if he gets tired.
Do you want to use a car seat with your stroller? That could affect your choices. For less expensive FR fee car seats, Chicco is probably your best bet. But, also it’s good to remember that baby shouldn’t be in the car seat for extended periods of time. The first six months pass pretty quickly, but until baby can sit by themselves at around 6 months, you either need to use a car seat with your stroller or have a stroller that’s safe for babies less than 6 months usually a “from birth” stroller. The kava isn’t able to be used from birth unless you use a car seat or their new bassinet. The bassinet is an added expense, but generally pretty worth it imo! Joie strollers only work with Joie car seats, so that limits your decisions. The whole Joie brand also not FR free. Chicco strollers only work with Chicco car seats, which also can be FR free in the clear Tex line. The Chicco bravo can’t be used from birth unless you use the car seat. The Chicco Corso however, comes in clear Tex and has a newborn insert that means you don’t have to use the car seat. The seat also flips which lots of people prefer for little babies. Not to throw in another option, but Britax is added flame retardant free and is a decent price range. The Britax willow grove SC is a great travel system and the stroller seat can be used with a provided insert for babies 10lbs +! They also have a bassinet option too. If you want to go a tiny bit more expensive, mockingbird is added FR free and you can use basically any car seat you’d ever want with it.
I agree with other points on lifestyle and features first. We initially opted for the Chicco Bravo LE travel system. Loved the bucket seat and how it could click into the frame with or without the stroller set up as a stroller. It wasn't too bulky or heavy, easy breakdown for the trunk, had good storage cup holders etc. As baby grew up and hated the bucket seat, however, we regretted getting it because baby could not face us in the stroller seat. Got the Uppababy Cruz and love it. However we will deal with the dilemma of our car seat not being able to click into that stroller immediately. So when we have another baby we'll have to swap back to our old stroller (or buy just the click in frame as friends have our old stroller right now) and/or the bassinet for the Cruz.
We have the Chicco Bravo with the ClearTex fabric and love it!
What’s the age gap? Mine was 3 years and the Chicco Bravo for 2 was perfect. I still was able to contain the older one but he much preferred riding around on the little chariot like stand than sitting in a traditional stroller seat. And it was perfect at the zoo/aquarium etc because he could easily hop on and off to get a closer look at something.
I got the Chicco cleartex stroller and infant carseat combo and have been happy with it. I’m not sure I would have gotten the stroller alone, but it was worth it for the combo purchase.
Seconded - solid stroller, solid car seat
I have chicco bravo 360. It goes with car seat (which I hate) the stroller is absolutely fine. I would not recommend to buy stroller and car sit together.
