Our daily stroller is a Chico viaro and our infant car seat was a Chico keyfit 35. We got the viaro bc it was cheap (got it used) and did not require an adapter with the car seat. I don’t recommend the viaro unless you’re looking for a cheap stroller that works, stuff like the cup holders are meh and it’s just super basic. My dream stroller if I could afford it is the cybex gazelle bc it looks pretty and I love the idea of the basket for storage, but I can’t justify spending the money when we have a fine functional single stroller. I’ve heard the bugaboo butterfly and the Zoe traveler are both good for travel, as is the joolz air. We got the Zoe twin for our double stroller bc it’s popular for travel (expecting our second soon).
r/BabyBumps • Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? ->I have one, but I have one baby and a 6yo. Mine is the Chicco key fit travel system. If my oldest was a few years younger I would have a double. I am looking for a new wagon but more for beach and berry picking adventures
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->When we had our first kid we went with a Chicco travel system and it did the job without costing anywhere close to a grand.
r/BabyBumps • Overwhelmed with Stroller/Car Seat combo options. What am I even looking for? ->We did a Chico stroller and car seat combo for our first. Taking the car seat out of the car and dropping it right into the stroller was great. We took that thing everywhere, even thru airports, on planes, Disney, etc. used it for our 3 other kids as well and now it’s sitting in my garage shelf 9 years later. When we had #2 the UBs had come out and we went to test drive them..the 1x1 configuration made it so hard to turn we ended up getting a citi-mini double. Also have taken that to Disney, and Europe, and still have it. We did end up getting a UB Umbrella for when we didn’t need the double and for easier portability. Still got that one too! Yeah the UB is the BMW of strollers, but you might end up wanting / needing another stroller depending on your needs anyway, so save some coin and use it for diapers!
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->For what it’s worth, I’ve had both a Chicco travel system and an Uppababy Vista, and I preferred the Chicco. The Vista was smooth but really big, sometimes to the point of being awkward to maneuver. I also preferred the Chicco’s folding mechanism.
r/beyondthebump • 600 dollar and up stroller/car seat systems ->We have a chicco travel system stroller and a 4 seater wonderfold we got off Facebook, only have 1 baby
r/NewParents • Who else has 2 or more strollers and one kid? Are my stroller choices justified? ->I loved my Chicco travel system, even though my LO outgrew the car seat by the time she was six months old, not Chiccos fault she’s just a long baby. Their strollers are amazing. I spent maybe $400 for the set. I splurged on a high chair, it was like $150 but super nice and it’ll grow with her. The rest has either been graco, hand me downs, or a cheap target/walmart brand. The most we spent on her stuff was for the crib ($250) and the dresser ($175) I also had a 15% off coupon through target for my baby registry.
r/NewParents • Is everyone on baby/parenting subs rich?!? ->FTM and everyone around me were buying Cybex or Inglesina, since we knew we didn’t want a 2nd and didn’t want to spend a fortune on it we bought Nea2 from Kinderkraft. Best choices I love it and we have a Chicco We for travels cause the nea take so much space in auto even if I prefer it 100 times
r/NewParents • Strollers ->We got a Nuna for our first and love it. For our second we got a travel system that was compatible with our original Chicco Keyfit. Travel systems are a game changer and I feel like a fool for not getting it the first time.
r/predaddit • Stroller Suggestions & Tips ->I just had my first baby in December, so I can say for me personally you don’t need to break the bank. If you want/can afford a $1000 stroller system, awesome. But there’s plenty of great options for less. I personally wouldn’t spend a ton on an infant car seat because they’re not in it long enough to justify the cost. The Doona is nice BUT it’s only usable for a short amount of time. I got the Chicco travel system because I can continue using the stroller even when my baby outgrows the infant car seat (which is soon). I will be investing in a rotating car seat that grows with him though because I will get years of use out of it which justifies the cost and I think the convenience is worth it. The Evenflow brand is popular. As for diaper bags, I know Itzy Ritzy is expensive but I bought several other cheap ones that I hated before I finally broke down and bought it. I thought having more compartments would be better, but I love the single large compartment of the Itzy Ritzy and would have saved money if I had just bought it to begin with. But it’s something else I will use for years. Maybe find a store where you can actually see and feel the different options so you have more of an idea of what you like or want. And also think about how much use you will get out of it before spending a ton of money, especially with newborn and infant products. They really don’t stay that little for long sadly.
