If you can keep it downstairs, then the Vista is excellent. It is so smooth even on bumpy sidewalks and off the path in parks. The basket is huge, so you can do nice grocery hauls or spend all day outside without having to hold your bags. It’s our everyday stroller, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ve used it on the train as well; it’s totally fine for elevators but heavy if you have to carry it. I do have a travel stroller (Colugo) as well, and while I like it for out of town, it isn’t great on bumpy sidewalks or street construction.

If you don’t want to do Facebook marketplace, I would use rebel stork or goodbuygear. Both sell open box baby gear majorly discounted! I got a colugo travel stroller with them for $70 and it was brand new, just was previously opened but everything still in original packaging!

I also have the colugo! We are getting a jogging stroller though because we live in a rural area and once baby gets bigger and harder to carry, we will want something with bigger wheels.

I have a lot. I got almost all of the used. I have a Yoyo which is my favorite for my toddler, it folds up so small that I got for $150 at a yard sale, a Bob jogging stroller which is great for rough terrain, an Uppababy double stroller so my 4 month old and 2 year old can both go in it, a wagon which is so heavy but good for multiple kids, I just bought a colugo compact for using days if use the yoyo because it folds up small too. I had 2 other Bob stroller that I got free so I gave one to my brother, I got a bugaboo from a church sale that I gave to my brother, I had a colugo complete which I really liked but it was so heavy so I’m selling that, I have a Graco stroller that my older son hated and I have the base stroller that works with the newborn car seat. My husband and everyone says it’s crazy to have so many but the first stroller we had, the Graco, was terrible and my son cried the entire time in it. He was so hot. I finally tried a different stroller when he was like 18 months old and he didn’t cry, he also didn’t overheat. I feel like I’m forgetting a stroller haha I really went through so many before finding what works. I wish I could find another yoyo for that price, that is a great stroller but they’re so expensive new. The Uppababy is good but it’s so heavy, I’ve only used that from the house around the neighborhood. I wouldn’t want to get that in and out of a car.

I have a Colugo travel stroller which I’m not loving but dealing with. My number one gripe is that there is no way to put a snack tray on it. Stroller snacks are very important to my children hahah! Otherwise, when we have flown we just gate checked, I’ve never had the desire to try and bring the stroller into the cabin.

r/BabyBumpsTell me what freaking diaper bag, car seat and stroller to buy. My brain is melting.

I had a big diaper bag and hated it. I repurposed my Kavu as my diaper bag and it’s great tbh. Snacks or bottle/formula on one side, wipes/diaper/change of clothes on the other. We have a colugo travel stroller It’s compact and has a bag that makes it a backpack. It was super convenient when we were at the beach because we could use it on the boardwalk and then put it in the bag so it didn’t get sandy. It also fits on planes. But you won’t be able to use it until they’re a bit older, like 6 months

r/moderatelygranolamomsMoms, what attracted you to buy that stroller?

I agree with all of this! Cheaper car seat click in stroller for when they are young and then we switched to a travel stroller as our main one. We went with Colugo since it was a little cheaper as a travel option. The jogging stroller is totally optional, but as a runner investing in a nice BOB was our splurge purchase. They can also be found used super easily. Are great for trails and rough sidewalks even if you aren't running!

Over here in Jersey City, our #1 stroller criterion was "how will we carry it up subway stairs" We went with the Colugo Lightweight and have been very happy. We got a dual-seater Zoe for our second kid and when we use it we miss the mobility of the Colugo.

We have the uppababy vista and live in Brooklyn in an elevator building (it was on super sale at Albee baby which I’ve seen is a great place to test drive strollers) which is just like the Cruz except for some additional bells and whistles.  This is our everyday stroller and it can handle uneven sidewalks easily and so much gets put in the bucket, we use it as a grocery cart when we go grocery shopping as a family and to lug blankets, picnic stuff to the park. One thing to note re: bassinet is you could probably find one for the Cruz for free or cheap on fb marketplace or buy nothing group. It’s the type of thing I see listed a lot. Then you can relist it when your kid outgrows it. We also have a travel stroller (colugo) that comes with us on the subway, bus or if we are going to a restaurant and need to fold up. It’s also our airplane stroller that gets gatechecked. It does not have the same “4 wheel drive” feel of the uppababy. Based on your needs, you might look into the yoyo which a few people I know have and like and is a little more heavy duty than a travel stroller, still is lightweight and good for traveling, but has the ability to add a car seat or bassinet attachment.

I just bought a colugo travel stroller and was worried that it was incompatible with car seats and then I realized that we had outgrown it! First time mom here too and only sharing because I had the same realization :)

r/NewParentsFlying solo with 3mo old—should I bring stroller/will it get trashed by airline?

I’ve done a fair amount of solo travel with my baby but was lucky enough to be going to a destination where my family had an extra stroller I could use once there. If you need a stroller at your destination I’d bring it. But I’d bring a travel stroller that you don’t need to gate check (we have a colugo that fits overhead) OR one that is less expensive and you’re okay with it getting dinged a bit. I, personally, wouldn’t invest in the padded stroller bag for my uppa baby on top of the stroller price. Not to mention when traveling I prefer a smaller, easier to navigate stroller. If you don’t need a stroller at your final destination I’d opt for baby wearing, diaper bag backpack, fanny pack type bag for your personal items and then check a large suitcase with everything else!
