r/MommitHow many strollers do you have?

I have a lot. I got almost all of the used. I have a Yoyo which is my favorite for my toddler, it folds up so small that I got for $150 at a yard sale, a Bob jogging stroller which is great for rough terrain, an Uppababy double stroller so my 4 month old and 2 year old can both go in it, a wagon which is so heavy but good for multiple kids, I just bought a colugo compact for using days if use the yoyo because it folds up small too. I had 2 other Bob stroller that I got free so I gave one to my brother, I got a bugaboo from a church sale that I gave to my brother, I had a colugo complete which I really liked but it was so heavy so I’m selling that, I have a Graco stroller that my older son hated and I have the base stroller that works with the newborn car seat. My husband and everyone says it’s crazy to have so many but the first stroller we had, the Graco, was terrible and my son cried the entire time in it. He was so hot. I finally tried a different stroller when he was like 18 months old and he didn’t cry, he also didn’t overheat. I feel like I’m forgetting a stroller haha I really went through so many before finding what works. I wish I could find another yoyo for that price, that is a great stroller but they’re so expensive new. The Uppababy is good but it’s so heavy, I’ve only used that from the house around the neighborhood. I wouldn’t want to get that in and out of a car.

r/BabyBumpsDo most people have and use both a regular stroller AND a travel stroller?

I also have the colugo! We are getting a jogging stroller though because we live in a rural area and once baby gets bigger and harder to carry, we will want something with bigger wheels.

We have a 3 year old and have flown to Europe, South America, and all over the country with him, starting at 1.5ish years old. You'll be fine! it's just nerve-racking the first time because of the unexpected, but remember, 1000s of families do it every day and its business as usual for airport employees, flight crews and TSA. Here's what comes to mind for me: - Look into the Colugo stroller, its specifically for flying because it folds up, and you dont have to gate check it! It's goes in a carry on bag (with backpack straps) and you just put it in the overhead compartment. Then you don't have to wait on the jet bridge while the plane empties to finally receive your gate checked stroller. Plus its tough enough that we use it daily on weeks long vacations and its held up great. Plenty of accessories as well. - Remember baby/toddler food and drinks are not restricted as far as size/capacity rules for liquids. TSA has a whole page on this. BUT we learned the hard way the liquid has to be in a certain type of cup/bottle for the liquid test they do on it. Don't use anything with a built in straw, just use an open cup or bottle with a screw on top. - Get 3 seats, and baby goes in the middle, or depending aircraft configuration, baby at window, parent on the aisle and spouse across the aisle. Your little one will have the same baggage allowances as you. Jetkids by Stokke makes a great toddler travel set and the luggage actually turns the seat into a toddler bed! We've used it in economy and domestic first class and its always worked great. - Use the bathroom before you get on the plane! - Get backpacks with a band the holds it on your extended carry on luggage handle so one parent can walk on the plane with two full size carry ons and personal bags and the other parent can be with little one and their luggage. The plane will be pretty empty when you pre-board, no stress. - Bring things for little one to keep busy and have fun during the flight, you know what will work best for yours. A good set of headphones is great if you have seat back entertainment on flight, the ear buds they give you won't work for a toddler. - Keep something handy for little one to sip on during ascent and descent to help pop their ears - Last but not least, let them peek in the cockpit when boarding and see if they have a set of wings for their first flight! We were lucky and had an amazing United flight crew on our son's first flight and they let him actually go in the cockpit and take a picture with the pilots and his wings on when we boarded, he was so happy. Just remember to enjoy it. it's a big thing for them, so make it fun. Don't worry about other people, 99 percent of other people are kind and understanding of families traveling with small children. You'll be at your destination in no time and you'll realize it was actually smoother than you expected.

You’d never be able to haul the rotating car seat on a plane, additionally they aren’t approved for airplanes in the US, I don’t believe. We have a colugo stroller and it one handedly folds up to fit in the overhead bin. I love it!

I got the colugo stroller because we also love to travel and as an older mom who is going to be one and done I didn’t need a full sized stroller. I saw most moms want compact by age 1, and this looked great. Got the infant addition so we will be good to go.

I got a colugo because I wanted something small and easy to fold. It’s great but doesn’t go flat easily
