If you live in a dense city then I would recommend a tandem. We use the Cybex Giselle. Side by side isn't practical. It takes up the space on sidewalks (I called it the blocker), barely fits in elevators, and you can't navigate the shopping isles of many downtown stores or even fit through the single entrance door. At our daycare, we have someone that has a side by side stroller and I cringe all the time as the monstrosity comes in and everyone has to shuffle around this beast. I also have the Veer Wagon (quad) and only use it for going out on adventures like the zoo, amusement park, etc. My preference is the stroller in the city (and we have 3 under 3).
Tandem for the win (I have the gazelle and it is the workhorse). Side by side doesn't really work in an urban city. It is more like a FU to pedestrians on the sidewalk as you literally block it. I also have a Thule chariot and veer which takes up as much space as a side by side. Maybe the wagon XL is a tiny bit more narrower. It is unwieldy to navigate and good luck if you go to small shops because you can't navigate through the aisles.
Our twins are 10 months and we have used the cybex gazelle double stroller since birth. Love it. As far as carriers we each have an ergo baby carrier for when the stroller is not ideal. I would like a side by side more compact stroller for when they’re older. As far as bassinet and crib we were gifted one of each and have worked out fine for us but do what you feel comfortable with.
I have a cybex gazelle and Nuna pipa Aire for my twins. We have to use adapters for the seats as well. Was never a big deal or cumbersome. Not sure about the vista but as long as the adapters are easy to snap on I think you’re good. I will say I am glad I went with Nuna as my twins were mono di and had to be born early. Thankfully they passed their car seat tests with the Nuna as it is certified to hold babies as small as 4 lbs without collapsing their airway.
Get the Cybex Gazelle 2. It's super modular, so car seats can attach, and then the stroller seats can be configured in different ways, so we put the twins facing each other sometimes.
I have the Gazelle S for our twins. I love that you can switch the directions of the seats. Now, that they're toddlers, they entertain each other when they face each other and I can fully recline them. We thought about the Vista and Nuna before getting this one and we're happy with our choice.
I have 3 yo and 4 month old. Definitely still using our double stroller Cybex Gazelle S. Got it with this exact intent. I like that I can have bassinet on top and toddler seat on the bottom, unlike with Vista. Having baby on the bottom and far away from me would make me anxious, as I like to keep checking on baby breathing and if there isn’t any blanket on the face. We’ve used it for international travel too. I have the kiddie board as well. Sometimes the 3yo still gets tired or sleepy or we just need to contain him for safety.
We have the Cybex Gazelle double stroller (that can be used with one or two seats) that we got with our first knowing we would be having more kids. That one we use 95% of the time going out with both kids. We got a smaller more compact travel stroller when we went to the UK for a wedding (only one kid at that time and was just soooo much easier getting around with it). I'll use that one during the day if me and the baby are running around because it is alot lighter. It also has a thermal sack attached for the winter so that one's better for keeping her warm (almost 1yr old)
The Cybex Gazelle S2 has the largest (longest?) telescoping handlebar out there. This is not YMMV but actual fact. It’s super easy and smooth to use and lighter than Nuna or Uppababy. I’m 5’2” and my husband is 6’5” and that’s the one we went with!
