We are not rich (both students) but we went for a mix of used (simple bed frame ca 30$), middle of the line bought on sale (cybex talos stroller 700$ and a cybex car seat 250$), high end (stokke tripp trapp chair with accesories 300$) and dirt cheap (IKEA changing mat on our washing machine instead of a changing table 10$). We prioritized buying proper things that could last several kids, but without spending over the top for straight up luxury items. (Prices are very approximate as i dont remember exactly what we gave for everything on sale and im not in the us so we dont use dollars, converted to ma)
r/NewParents • Is everyone on baby/parenting subs rich?!? ->I HIGHLY recommend the Cybex travel system. The Balios is a bit more affordable which I love. And they don't require the adapters like most of them do, even Nuna. They are also compatible with a bassinet which is not an expensive add on.
r/BabyBumps • Alright let’s talk strollers ->Are you considering more than one kid? We initially had a hand me down peg perego system that we loved but it got damaged on a flight and we got reimbursed its original price. We chose the cybex over the uppababy as our replacement because both seats can hold up to 50lbs
r/BabyBumpsCanada • What travel system to buy? Expecting a baby in October [ON] ->My suggestion if you can is go to a store and try them out. My partner and I were pretty set on a cybex travel system but on trying them out we ended up with a per perego as the fold mechanism and swapping components was more intuitive for us. We also got the isofix base for each car we have and once baby has outgrown the car seat we can just but the next seat without the base that is suitable for bigger children.
r/BabyBumps • How did you choose a stroller and car seat? ->The travel stroller types aren't good enough for proper winter snow. It depends on where you live of course, but if there's heavy snow usually, you need something with thick big wheels. But if you live in an apartment you want it to be compact to. We went with cybex talos-s and it was very good though a bit heavy. Our travel one was Phil & teds, really good for 200€ but it absolutely would not work for the snow here in Lappeenranta. Only bought them new because it was covid time, but buying second hand is a great idea. If you can get a yoyo for a good deal, that's one of the best for daily+travel uses. Tori or your local äitien kirppis group on Facebook are your best bets. Buy it in person, go take it for a test drive, check the turning profile and how easy it is to lock it, is it easy to fold, carry etc. In general, avoid Facebook marketplace. Good luck!
r/Finland • Need baby stroller suggestions ->I got the Cybex full size stroller and used it one day. I completely regretted it. Sold it for a travel stroller but lost some money…never again with the full size.
r/Buyingforbaby • Anyone just have a travel stroller? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
