Hummingbird Ultra-Lightweight Carbon Fiber Stroller

Hate the big stroller. It’s a scam. I have a vista and a hummingbird evenflo. Love the hummingbird. Both are extremes. Probably the mini u would have been the most practical all around purchase because the hummingbird isn’t very economical.. might sell the vista for a mini u..

I did my research on a trip to Colombia where the sidewalks are.. problematic. I bought the evenflo hummingbird for the exact reason you described and didnt want to lug my vista around. It ended up being my favourite stroller.. so easy to whip around and cheap. I want to get rid of my vista. I will say, i worried too much about overhead bin compatibility because the airlines half the time make you check the stroller anyways. I wish i got a travel stroller that could carry my car seat to make the airport amount of stuff to gate check way less. We actually left behind a carry on with all our babies clothes at security in canada because we had too much stuff to keep track of. So I recommend a travel stroller with carseat compatibility. That said if it were up to me we could have lived with just the backpack. My wife found the backpack too bulky though and would get uncomfortable in interior spaces like elevators or on the metro etc. admittedly it was a nightmare on a crowded subway with the backpack. So yeah theres definitely a place for both.. My 2 cents, hope it helps

Oh also, i will say.. the pro move we figured out on our flight home was checking all the stuff we were going to gate check with our luggage, including our carry on stuff. Just backpack onboard with bare essentials to reduce the amount of stuff to keep track of rushing through the airport. That took so much stress down. The first flight having like 6 bags all in shambles because security wants to swab a laptop is a nightmare. We literally bought all new clothes in south america. The hummingbird stroller is honestly awesome. I can collapse it with one hand while holding my son in the other hand so easily. My wife finds the back support lacklustre and kiddo looks like hes kinda slouched but it’s just awesome and he doesnt complain. So so nimble. I suspect the uppababy minu woulda been a slight improvement but honestly with how tiny the hummingbird became, i could hold baby in cramped areas and carry the briefcase sized folded down stroller one handed with the other. Plus, the Hummingbird stroller was a “screw it cheap enough” purchase. The other options are just too pricey. Go figure it becomes my favourite stroller. The big advantage to the hummingbird over an umbrella stroller by the way is that with the hummingbird you can steer one handed because the push handle is one piece, not two vertical bars like a lot of the “umbrella” ones
