So.... I'm also a FTM and we purchased an Even flo Travel system, which was sssoooo helpful on our 2 plane trips we took the first year. The infant car seat and stroller went under the plane and into our car rental. It was convenient having a stroller everywhere we went. Now that baby is 15 months we use the bassinet as the toddler seat (they convert) and he still fits in it for naps when we are out. The only down side to this, is now we had to purchase "big boy" carseats because the infant ones are only for a height of 32 inches. But we can still use the stroller with toddler seat/bassinet. Also, unless you are short, I do not recommend the Doona for anyone over 5ft 2 in. This is an example of a system I got, but not the exact one. Its $299 for the whole thing: [https://www.evenflo.com/products/omni-signature-travel-system-with-litemax-sport?variant=44618758619292](https://www.evenflo.com/products/omni-signature-travel-system-with-litemax-sport?variant=44618758619292)
We have the evenflo Omni and I really like it. There were 2 problems we had with it: 1- was the wheels squeaked like crazy but a little wd40 has fixed it and we never had the issue again. 2- was it was hard to line up the car seat to put into the stroller handles (compared to the Graco jogger I had with my first where it was easy to set it down). But it was a minor hassle and we mostly used it as a bassinet or stroller instead Best things were: - could face forwards or backwards - bassinet which I used for diaper changes up to age 2 in public places - car seat didn’t make baby as sweaty as the Graco ones (more breathable) - easy to install car seat - big basket
I’m getting evenflo Omni travel set!
We have the Evenflo Omni travel system for our January 2025 baby. I used it for walks at indoor walking tracks from like february-april and then we've been using it outside since then. My baby was 8lbs5oz at birth and is now 18+lbs at 6 months and she is HARD to carry in her bucket seat so we plan to switch her to her Graco 4ever in a few weeks, at which point we'll still use the travel system stroller for her, but not with the bucket seat. My oldest, however, was only like 12 or 13lbs at 6 months so I feel like carrying her would've been fine at this point, so how much use you get out of the system totally depends on your baby's size. My main complaint about the stroller system is that the mechanism that clicks the bucket seat into the stroller is SO finicky. Eventually we got the hang of it but good lord I've spent PLENTY of time in parking lots looking like an idiot trying to click that thing into place. And it feels like every once in awhile, as she gains more weight, it gets finicky again. It's not the total end of the world, but definitely annoying. For the price, overall we've liked the system.
My first was born in 2020 so we couldn't go anywhere and I baby wore on walks outside so we didn't get a stroller that first year. We ended up getting a cheap safety 1st jogger stroller when she was like 18m for wintertime use and it was fine but the front tire got caught on something and broke. We bought an uppababy minu for travelling when she was 3. We still use it for easy use but I agree it's not great for snow. We then had my second in January 2025 and got an Evenflo travel system from our baby shower. We still use the stroller part because it's fine in slush and snow and the under seat storage is way better than th minu. So we basically use the minu when we need something compact and light and the Evenflo when we need to get through winter conditions or need the storage. So across two kids and 5 years we've had 3 strollers but none of them have been stellar.
I dont have a stroller as I have dogs who come out with me and they attack wheels so i use a wrap. But I used to watch my friends baby while she was at work and used hers years back. She had an eventflo bassinet convertible stroller. It was great in snow and slight rocky places and he loved the bassinet. He used the sit up position for a couple months before he outgrew it and it was good. I was gifted a graco stroller last month and graco does many things right but a stroller is not one of them, I tested it once and it got stuck on every pebble on a paved road, not practical for rodeos which is the only place id use it. They are great for carseats. I have a snugride and its not too expensive and overall a good car seat, super light weight and simple to install. Growing up I had the grow with you graco the one you have from birth until booster and as a child I can say I give that one a great review BUT it doesnt connect to a stroller which sucks
I have an evenflo stroller with an infant car seat that attaches to it. The bassinet part was so nice when he was newborn and now that he is a bit older, the infant car seat is extremely heavy, we transitioned the bassinet part to be the toddler stroller style and it's awesome. I believe it's a 3 in 1 stroller, so very handy.
I love having the bassinet feature when we know we are going to be out and about for a while. I worry about leaving her in the car seat to nap if we go to the park or are with friends and family. I use it around the house for day time naps and sitting on the patio. We bring the stroller inside at the in-laws so she has a safe place to be placed if she needs to be set down. We bought the Evenflo set which is car seat, stroller base, and bassinet. The bassinet tilts up and becomes a toddler seat up to 50 lbs. https://preview.redd.it/cmzsubv2pq2f1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=110e44318187fa61e884dde21637da0e536b555a
There is a bassinet by our bed, but no baby monitor. I am more comfortable when I can see/hear her. Our home is 2 floors, so I use the stroller on the main floor and the crib with a baby monitor on the second. I like the stroller that converts because it felt like the better financial decision. If you prefer the bassinet stroller and can afford to buy a second one once LO out grows it, then do that!
We went with the evenflo that converts to a stroller straight out of the car. I already have a jogging stroller and a joovy for when this baby is older though. I am just very very much not wanting to carry another infant car seat anywhere and this prevents that.
