I’m a huge fan of the gb pocket+ all city. Folds ultra small and I find that I sometimes prefer it to our giant vista. Our kid is a super tall 3 and we still use it, esp for airports and long tourist days
I have this one, we used it all the time for airports as we did regular trips from Canada to Egypt from birth onwards, 25hr journey with 2 layovers. The pocket all city folds small enough to be one of our carry-ons, so no gate checking or risk of damage. But you can also just gate check it too. The only downside is I felt the ergonomics of that seat are pretty poor. My baby / toddler was always a little slouchy, so I probably wouldn’t want a kid under 1 sleeping in it, for example.
We have the gb pockit all city which is slightly heavier, but it’s been the daily workhorse for over 4 yrs now.
I couldn’t do it. Not unless my husband was able to help me bring it down, which he can’t practically do every single time. So I did a lot of baby wearing until he was old enough to sit in a travel stroller (I went with gb pockit all city). With the all city, i could roll it down the steps and I could roll it back up, no problem. My stroller is 13lb. Theres several brands that do that weight, you could also check out the uppababy minu or the yoyo.
If you are tall yourself you may not like this- I am 5'4" and found it just fine but my 6' husband dislikes it because he has to hunch over. Can't beat how small it is though!!
Mom of a 45 lbs toddler here- we love our Pockit City!
Just came back from a 2-week trip with a toddler to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Firstly, I'll say to throw any strict schedule out the window (except for things you really need to book ahead of time). This helped to manage our expectations of travelling with a child and we only planned ahead by having a list of things/attractions and their locations. We would pick things to do 1-2 days ahead of time, considering their proximity to each other and the weather (it was a bit rainy at the start of our trip). Another tip is to be wary of peak hour times, especially Tokyo and if you happen to be moving around with your luggage. We made sure not to travel during that time because it can get unbelievably packed. We also exclusively used disabled/stroller carriages (there are signs on the platform for them) when catching the train. This also means always looking for the elevator sign immediately when you hop off too. Some may be harder to find than others and you can't always use the same exit that Google Maps recommends. My kid hated being back carried so we used the [GB Pock It + All-City stroller](https://gb-online.com/en-us/strollers/pockit-all-city) everywhere and loved it (we also use it at home too). It was a bit pricey for us but well worth it. It folds so easily and compactly, so it's also great for the plane too. Once I became really familiar with it, with practice, I could unfold it while walking - it flips out fairly easily. Our kid could also nap in it since he still needs them during the day (it can recline pretty far back to make it comfortable). I would also highly recommend having a [travel bag](https://gb-online.com/en-us/strollers/pockit-all-city/accessories/26) for it (which we brought everywhere with us). It helped at Fushimi Inari Taisha (has a small hike), so we used our carrier for our kid and carried the stroller in the bag (though do consider your own strength and fitness to do so). The bag can also be used if you think you should fold it up for a packed train/bus ride.
Having a stroller to contain my 20 month toddler from exploring everything in different busy airports, while wrangling bags, car seats, diaper bag, anything and everything else, was a lifesaver. Having handles to hang smaller bags on was also convenient. We also took a car seat. We got the GB pockit city stroller. Folds up to the size of a small carry on. That said, the folding part of it gets more difficult with time. Still worth it. If you are in N. America, wait to get it on sale during Amazon prime days. Edited for clarity.
How big is your kid for their age? By 5 months both of my kids went to big kid strollers. Neither fit into a. Infant seat by that age. Can they sit unsupported? If yes then they can definitely use a non adaptable stroller. Do you travel often? Of by car frequently? If so, id get a ultra compact that comes on the plane as a carry on. I used the GB all city pockit. It make it though 2 kids. It comes on the plane with you and never gets lost or broken. It fits in the car under beneath the carseat. It's great in malls and stores. It also folds flat enough to nap. Also get a canopy extender from Amazon.
We have a gb pockit all city. Just took it to Disney, did Scotland and Paris with it last year, and Italy before that. I literally just ran across the Atlanta airport with it strapped on today. It was lighter than my toddler 😂
