We have the graco modes 3 lite travel system and I love it. I’m pretty low maintenance. It wasn’t expensive. It has a cup holder/key tray. It has a basket at the bottom that’s big enough to put bags under. When it was just the stroller base and car seat I could open and close the stroller with one hand. Super clutch when getting in and out of the car without another adult. No ramp or elevator taking too long? Pop the car seat off and put it on one arm, close the stroller with the other and throw it over my shoulder. It works great as just a stroller for us too.
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->We have the Graco modes platinum travel system. It’s a jogging stroller that comes with an infant-30 pounds car seat and a removable toddler seat. It’s awesome and and off roads really smoothly. My guy is just 15 weeks so I haven’t tried jogging with it but we did take it to natural bridges in Santa Cruz California to see the monarchs and where people had to leave their strollers we were able to stroll.
r/fitpregnancy • jogging stroller/buggy - is it worth it? ->I live in canada, my baby was born in the fall. I wish I would have considered suspension. I got the graco modes trio, I didnt want anything expensive. Although I do like it and it does the job, pushing through snow in the spring was basically impossible. Is definitely only good on flat smooth ground
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->We went with graco cause it's affordable, couldn't justify spending a ton of money on a stroller, and we were able to try it out at Target. we got one that can be a normal stroller and a pram.
r/BabyBumps • Stroller Recommendations ->We were able to buy ours second hand still in the box, so you can definitely find them cheaper than store price, which is nice for people that don't mind second hand. We went with the graco modes 3 platinum. We also liked not having to buy extra add ons to have a cup holder and tray for both baby and parents
r/BabyBumps • Stroller Recommendations ->So for our first we got an affordable stroller/car seat set from Costco (Graco click and connect, I think) and I would highly suggest something like that to start. It comes with a bucket car seat which just pops on to the stroller so it makes it so easy to transfer the baby from the car to the stroller for outings/walks. Once they’re big enough you can use the stroller without the car seat too. I would not shell out for a fancy or specialized stroller before the baby has been born. I would wait until they’re here and you can see how it’s going with the cheaper one because there’s a good chance it will be good enough for you anyway. It was for us for a long time! But it will depend on your baby and your specific needs/lifestyle whether or not you’ll want or need a more specialized stroller. And your wants/needs/lifestyle are going to change once the baby is here and not necessarily in a way you can predict. You might end up wanting a jogging stroller, needing a good quality umbrella stroller if you take public transit or travel a lot, a double stroller if you end up having a second baby in the next couple years, etc. So yeah unless you have money to burn I would just start with a basic car seat/stroller set and then go from there. Edit to add: if you get a bucket seat/stroller combo I would get it new because of the car seat. If you’re getting just a stroller second hand is great!
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->I've used a few strollers. It really depends on your individual lifestyle! Don't get sucked into buying the most expensive stroller if you wouldn't use it. For us: * Car seat click in stroller (Graco) for when she was an infant. Our main stroller for her first 8 months. So easy to fit in my trunk, lightweight, had a cup holder. I used it for bringing her to Costco, restaurants, quick meetups at the library baby music class with friends. * Pram style high end stroller (Bugaboo) Never used, because my neighborhood isn't super walkable. If I lived in Europe I would probably get more use out of it. She also hated being set down and how open the pram was, so I held her much more often. I ended up reselling it for as much as I got it for! * Travel everyday stroller (Iglesina). Love this! Our main stroller once she turned 8 months. Super compact and fits in an overhead airport bin, easy fold, large storage under the chair. * Jogging stroller (Bob). I run 3ish times a week. The large wheels on this make it nice for bumpy sidewalks and trail walking too. It's big though, so might be hard to fit in the truck of a small car.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->We had a graco with the “click and connect”, being able to pull the car seat out of the base with a lever and drop it in the stroller, then have it lock in was worth its weight in gold. We took it everywhere with both kids, fairs, beach, hiking trails, as well as city/shopping.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->Yes, almost every evening for walks at home. We have the graco click connect or something like that (it was second hand). It’s a bus to push around but it works for us around here. When we’re out and about we use a small single and carry baby in a carrier. (19m and 6m)
r/2under2 • Do you actually use your double stroller?? ->I had the grico click connect stroller when my son turned 1 I upgraded to the wagon
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->We got the Graco SnugRide SnugLock 35 LX infant car seat (in the $200 range) and a Graco click connect stroller. My husband is a composite technician and I’m a SAHM so we don’t have luxurious spending money but want to prioritize safety ratings especially when it comes to a car seat. How do those car seats rate safety wise should be your #1 priority and not aesthetics. We love our car seat especially with blow outs, the inserts come right out for easy cleaning and I don’t have to practically take apart the entire car seat to wash. Also… IMHO, a jogging stroller is the way to go if you’re planning on being active and outside. The regular stroller is nice for grocery stores and stuff but being outdoors, I feel like a jogging stroller holds up way better. You don’t need to break the bank for something baby will only use for a short time frame but also don’t want to cheap out for something meant to potentially save their life.
