Used for almost everything, the only thing worth splurging on is a BOB. Everything other than a jogging stroller is the same basic design. The move is to buy them used/cheap as possible, then you can buy multiple strollers that each meet a certain need for the same price as a new “jack of all trades” stroller that won’t be. We have a BOB all terrain (the big purchase, because we run with him) and then an ultra compact one for travel, we also had what was essentially a Graco cart that his car seat clipped into (but didn’t have a seat otherwise) for when he was <1 year.
We have a graco modes adventure wagon ($209-400) with the carseat adapter ($60) and carseat. We got it for our now 3 month old and almost 3 year old. Pros: light enough, spacious enough, compatible with the newborn carseat and our toddler to still sit in it, great for big outings like the zoo or walks to the park, collapses well and fits in our car and hall closet, suspension springs make it a breeze to "drive" even in weird terrain. Cons: collapse can be a little tricky to keep standing, could be bigger, adjustable handle has weird mechanism for locking/unlocking to pull mode (or to collapse), needs a few additional components for storage, may prefer bigger unit for more spacious travel. Ultimately the biggest con is that our toddler just prefers to walk/run like 90% of the time, so we just use it to push a newborn. Having said that, it's a godsend WHEN he decides hes done walking and we're out at a big thing that we'd like to stay at for a while longer. Another pro is during the times hes walking we can still chuck the baby bags, cooler bags, purse, etc. on his side.
We’re doing a stroller wagon with a car seat adaptor for our babies who will be almost 15 mo apart. Graco Modes Wagon. I baby wore with my first until he was 3 months. People on here love their double strollers but all the irl 2 under 2 parents I know have said they got very little use out of the double stroller and also got a wagon. I figure the wagon has better long term potential, it folds up small, can be placed in my van without needing to be collapsed, and I picked one up for less than $200 new.
We have the Graco Modes Adventure Stroller Wagon. Absolutely love it.
Wagon. Double/triple strollers are so hard to push and maneuver. We have a Graco Modes Adventure wagon and love it. When my youngest was in the bucket seat we got the attachment so baby and middle child could ride. Oldest kids can walk. If you’re going to be walking miles (like Disney as someone else mentioned) then I would get two double umbrella strollers. You push one and spouse pushes the other.
I have a single stroller that also has a pram. A wagon. I just got a graco double stroller that can attach a carseat too...I'm 23 weeks pregnant with baby 6 and my 5th is only just turning 2 next month so I thought that was nice...I use the wagon currently for errands and walks since it can be pushed like a stroller too!
My advice is to place more budget/focus on your everyday stroller/stroller system. Later once you realize the less common situations your everyday stroller is not able to meet (like a running stroller, bassinet-compatible system, a bulky stroller that has good storage, etc) then buy that stroller second-hand. If you don’t love it just sell it again. I have a UB Minu V2 with Mesa car seat as my everyday stroller. Second hand, I have a Bob, a Graco Modes system that was nice for the few times I used rhe bassinet or wanted a lot of storage, and soembody gave me a Chicco Bravo. I mainly use the Minu and Bob, but the other ones have been useful occasionally too. Don’t get caught up thinking every stroller has to be a premier brand. It’s more so about how you plan to use them.
Commenting here (just due to the height aspect) to say that I’m 6’ and my husband is 6’3 and our Graco Modes system was perfect, and kept my son safe when someone hit his side of the car AND totaled my SUV.
I relied on Babylist to make my registry and have been very happy with my choices. A stroller system is great because you can pop the infant carrier in and out easily, and then transition it to a toddler stroller as your kid gets older. We have the Graco Modes system and have used it for 5 years with two different kids and two different models of infant carrier. It’s been great.
