Controversial opinion: don’t get 1 do it all stroller. Get several “specialty” strollers, optimized for a specific purpose and buy them used/cheap (unless you have 1 type you want to splurge on). Example: We bought a used graco click-lock that worked with his car seat. It lived in the car. We did some travel, so bought a significantly cheaper knock-off version of the Bugaboo Butterfly. Finally, we wanted a really good jogging stroller so splurged on a Bob All-terrain. Had an adapter for the car seat until he outgrew it. All three of those combined NEW (even if you max out with the BOB All-terrain Pro) come out to less than the Bugaboo Fox 5. And you may not need all of those and/or can buy in stages.
r/daddit • Stroller talk ->Used for almost everything, the only thing worth splurging on is a BOB. Everything other than a jogging stroller is the same basic design. The move is to buy them used/cheap as possible, then you can buy multiple strollers that each meet a certain need for the same price as a new “jack of all trades” stroller that won’t be. We have a BOB all terrain (the big purchase, because we run with him) and then an ultra compact one for travel, we also had what was essentially a Graco cart that his car seat clipped into (but didn’t have a seat otherwise) for when he was <1 year.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->We started with a Graco travel system, bought an umbrella stroller for indoors, found that both didnt turn well on slick floor inside stores. Bought a bugaboo lynx and got rid of both of the others. Our lynx comes in and out of the house since it turns much better than our cheap umbrella stroller did. It doesn't fold super small so you need decent trunk space but it's pretty lightweight so easy to pop in and out.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->3, but now 2. One evenflo travel system which I sold then bought graco travel system then bought uppababy vista because baby (at 5 months) hated bassinet but couldn’t do full recline. I also wish I just went right to uppababy.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->Personally: Second hand is the way to go. See if you can find a used model of the strollers you like on Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, or Offer up. I got a used BOB double jogging stroller for $100. It shows wear, but still works great and brand new it would have cost $600-900. If you must buy new some of the more budget friendly brands like Graco are good too. For my first baby I used a Graco jogging stroller for long walks and an umbrella stroller when he got older. They didn't break the bank and were super reliable.
r/Buyingforbaby • Looking at all the stroller choices is making me want to pull my hair out! ->We got a graco travel system with the infant car seat. I loved it. The infant carseat we were able to use it for awhile. I know a lot of people complain the infant carseat gets too heavy to take out all the time, but that's what we did. I loved the bassinet feature with the stroller. And then it converted to toddler stroller. We still use it and my daughter is 2. It is not the smallest when folded, but that's my only complaint. We mainly use it in the neighborhood so keep it open in the garage for easy use. I have an umbrella stroller to take on errands that I know I need it to keep her contained, like the DMV.
r/NewParents • What stroller/carseat to buy? ->Depends on how much you plan to use it as a newborn. Some have the infant carseat just clips into the stroller as well. I have a graco travel system that the bassinet part switches to the seat part once they can sit up. I took my daughter for a few walks in the bassinet part so it was used. When she got big enough I switched it to the seat for walks. My stroller can also just have the carseat clip in, which I never did. How much do you plan to use th stroller in those early months will help you decide
r/BabyBumps • Is a stroller bassinet worth it? ->Stroller can be amazing, especially if you wind up with a baby like mine who HATES babywearing. We've put ours through its paces. But you also don't need the super fancy brands. We have a Graco Modes, it's like, $250 brand new for the stroller (and has all the accessories some other brands charge as extras!). Almost 2 years of daily use and going strong. Convertible car seat, yes, you'll need that eventually. You could get one with a low weight limit and skip the infant bucket seat, but you'll need a seat that can do rear facing, front facing harness, high back booster, and regular booster (or multiple seats that cover that span collectively. Those are just the phases you need covered). Our convertible can do the first 3, and we'll get a basic booster when needed. Some seats do all 4 phases. Again, you don't need a super expensive brand. We have a Graco that was $160 and it's been great. High chair: highly kid dependent. Our 20 month old recently decided all configurations of her high chair are awful, she wants a big chair. My friend's kid the exact same age loves her high chair still. Crib: we have a convertible one. But I fully intend to modify it to fit a full size bed frame, so it's gonna be super convertible 😅 some come with that ability, but we just got the 4-in-1 and figured I've got power tools for the big bed. But really, all you *need* for a baby to sleep can be safely and completely met by a pack and play. We used one for several months around our kid's first birthday because we moved and all our shit was in storage. It's perfectly acceptable to do that and just get them a twin size bed when they outgrow the pack and play as a toddler.
r/BabyBumps • Is it worth buying the “convertible” baby stuff? ->I wish we didn’t pick the graco modes travel system. The bassinet/toddler seat and infant seat need to be swapped. Unlike the Chicco key fit 360 which lets you just put the car seat on top of the regular seat. Also it’s petty but the there’s only one cup holder and it doesn’t fit any of my water bottles
r/pregnant • HOW DO I PICK A TRAVEL SYSTEM?! ->I don’t have the name on me now-after all of our tons of research we landed on a graco that includes an infant car seat and a regular stroller seat that converts into a bassinet. It is amazing to not have a separate bassinet, and you can even convert it to bassinet while the kid is in it if they fall asleep. Great basket size for carrying around lots of stuff.
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->Graco is great quality and decently priced. I love their travel system. My carseat, strollers (single and double), and Pram all connect and they are easy to use.
r/BabyBumps • What (realistically priced) strollers are good these days? ->Way too many: - graco frame stroller for just the car seat. Rather than buying a Doona, I got this very thin and light frame so I can do errands while baby is sleeping. - mockingbird stroller. My OG, I love her. I have the bassinet attachment and a few accessories. Very big and bulky for travel but handles like a champ. - graco travel stroller. Compatible with the car seat and as a regular stroller. Bought this for traveling since the mockingbird takes up too much trunk space on roadtrips. - light weight summer 3d umbrella stroller. Toddler uses this one, easy to travel with. - joovy double stroller sit and stand. Haven’t used this yet since my youngest isn’t sitting up yet. - radio flyer stroller wagon. It’s huge and holds so much, you can push or pull. Holds 2 kids. I bought half of these second hand. We have two kids.
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
