Based on 1 year's data from Feb 18, 2026 How it works
We also started with the Graco prammette, but recently upgraded to the Bugaboo Butterfly 2. The bassinet feature was AMAZING when he was tiny since we live in a very urban area and do lots of walking. Though agreed, it’s a little wobbly depending on how you position them in it. However, our kiddo is big (95+ percentile) and very quickly outgrew the bassinet weight limit (around 3 months) and now even the normal stroller seat is too small for his booty/thighs (he’s not even 5 months 😅). The Bugaboo is miles above and beyond the Graco. It’s ridiculous. It’s so much more smooth, significantly lighter for carrying down our rowhouse steps, and he fits so well in it/seems so much more comfortable. In hindsight, I probably would have opted for the Bugaboo system with the bassinet, but we still get good mileage from the Graco since it clicks in with his car seat (we now just leave it in the car for dr appts).
I learned a lot from my firstborn (now 11 years old) and utilized a lot of similar items for my second baby (now 2 months old). Didn’t use a crib for my first, just a pack n play that had a bassinet which worked great until she was about 2, then transitioned straight into a twin bed; didn’t bother with a toddler bed. I was living in a tiny apartment for the first year of my firstborn’s life, but am now in a two story house, so we have a [pack n play](https://a.co/d/5xxr3uA) in our room, a bassinet downstairs, and a second hand crib in my office for the days when I work from home (once I go back to work). I also love our [car seat/stroller combo](https://a.co/d/5Xwx8n2) that grows with the baby. The car seat fits into a collapsible stroller base, or it can be switched to a pram that can be converted into a regular stroller as the baby grows, and the car seat fits into any Graco car seat base, so purchasing an extra for our second car was easy. Good luck!
Graco modes was the best choice we made!
Need to chime in with some love for Graco products. We were gifted a Graco modes pramette stroller and snugride car seat plus a couple car seat bases. I then bought us a Graco Ready2Jet travel stroller for our plane rides and I love how the car seat can click into the stroller. My baby is on the tall side so I’ve already leveled up and gotten a Graco Turn2Me convertible car seat for my car. I also bought a Graco Premier Modes Merge stroller as our main stroller off of an overstock website so it was like $300 instead of $400, and if I were to do it over again I would have started with that line of travel system (includes the car seat) because it feels really high end for probably half the price of the actual high end brands.
I got the Graco Modes Pramette Travel system. Due early July. :)
We have a Baby Jogger City Tour 2 travel stroller with the adapters for our Graco carseat, and we use this combination for almost everything. It's great for car and air travel, but also just as a small around-town stroller. It's great for bringing into casual restaurants and places like breweries and food halls, and also great for shopping trips. We also have a Graco Modes Pramette that we got second hand and use that with a separate bassinet attachment (the convertible seat/bassinet is pretty wobbly so we don't use it anymore), but since it's pretty big we only use it for walks around the neighborhood and don't take it along with us when we drive anywhere. We did this once and it was a PITA and barely fit in my SUV! Now we just take the baby jogger everywhere, and now that my baby is 3 months and can hold her head up better, we feel comfortable using the baby jogger in the recline mode (it's not all the way flat) if we don't keep her in the carseat atrached. She's still too small for being strolled around in the baby jogger alone without the carseat (she's tiny and the stroller straps are still pretty loose on her), but eventually we'll use it as our only stroller and get rid of the Graco one.
TL;DR: I thought I'd like the convertible seat concept but in practice I found it was bulky and it ended up being better for us to use a separate bassinet attachment or a compact travel stroller that has a near flat recline. I have the Graco Modes Pramette and bought it because I liked the idea of its versatility to convert from bassinet to toddler seat. I thought it would be much more convenient than having a separate bassinet, especially for traveling so I wouldn't have to bring a bunch of gear. However, it is really big and barely fits in the back of my SUV when folded! Also, idk if this is due to buying it second hand or if it's the same way new but the seat/bassinet is really wobbly when attached and I didn't feel comfortable using it on any bumpy roads or sidewalks. I'm also not a fan of the maneuverability of the stroller itself because it doesn't really turn all that well, especially with only one hand if I have something in the other hand. We found an open box sale of the separate Graco bassinet attachment that works with all of the click connect strollers and liked that a lot more than the convertible seat. We now only use the separate bassinet and not the convertible seat. We use it for neighborhood walks and occasional outings where we will have our baby in a stroller for a long time because I didn't like the idea of her sitting in the car seat attached to the stroller for too long (we have a Graco car seat so it works seamlessly with the stroller too). What we've ended up using a lot more is a Baby Jogger City Tour 2 (a small, compact travel stroller) with the Graco car seat attachment so we can use our car seat with it. We use this combo both for quick trips and times where we can get to a destination and have space to take the car seat off and lay baby down in the stroller (it has a near-flat recline) for laying down while stationary and for naps. We even did this when her head control was not great yet and she did fine (I was initially worried about the near-flat not being okay for a wobbly newborn head). Now at 5 months, she has good head control and is bigger and we're almost at the point where we can just strap her in the stroller for walks and she would be fine. She's a small 6th percentile baby so she hasn't been big enough for that until now! This stroller is way better for maneuverability and is nice and compact for traveling, so it's become more of our go-to.
We have the Graco Modes pramette stroller and it’s served us well. The base also fit her infant car seat and we used that combo quite often while running errands when she still fit in it. Now that she’s bigger and sizes up to a bigger car seat, I also have a Kolcraft Cloud Sport stroller to keep in the trunk because it’s easier to open quickly and takes up less space.
My first graco stroller was [this one](https://a.co/d/54LxRfM). But I am now pregnant with my second child so we upgraded to [this one](https://a.co/d/baslPRJ). Which we got on clearance at Target for $170. Haven’t started using the second one yet since second baby is not here yet. But I love my first one. I have them both put together side by side and the double isn’t even much larger than the single.
My diaper bag came from Amazon. Some non-brand. I’ve seen it on just about every mom at the zoo, so it’s quite popular. I think it was ~$25. My bucket car seat is the Graco snugride snug fit 35 dlx. Using it on my second kid now with no complaints. It will also fit into the attachment on Graco strollers. I think it was around $130. My convertible car seat that they switch into when I get tired of carrying them in the bucket seat is the Graco slim fit 3in1. It was just under $200. My stroller for my first baby was the Graco modes pramette stroller. I think it was around $200 but it was a gift so not sure. Now that we have our second baby we have a Graco ready2grow Lx 2.0. It was on clearance for $170. Bucket car seat will also fit into it like the single stroller. As you can tell, we are loyal to Graco baby stuff.
I have a graco and I think it’s great. Honestly most of my baby stuff is graco. It’s a trusted brand, it’s been around for forever (pretty sure my mom’s stuff for me 33 years ago was graco). My stroller had the click connect thing where I could put the bucket seat into the stroller if I wanted, or I could use the bassinet thing it came with. The bassinet turns into what I call “toddler mode” for when they are bigger. You can have them pointing towards you or away from you. The bottom part fits the diaper bag perfect. It folds up into the back of my not so big car nicely. It has a cup holder and phone holder. My son is 21 months now and we have used it a lot. I am 27 weeks pregnant with my second and we just recently got a graco double stroller to prepare for having 2 kids. I’m definitely a graco fan. Plus, they are a lot more affordable.
I don’t believe in spending a million dollars on a stroller (I don’t use it much, especially during the first year). So I went with the tried and true brand that parents have been using for eons - Graco. My first Graco stroller was like….maybe $200? The seat can be either a bassinet or what I call “toddler mode”. I used the bassinet like twice, mainly just used toddler mode. You could also just click your Graco car seat into it if you prefer that. Now I am pregnant with my second and I got the Graco that has 2 seats - it was on sale for $180 at target. I don’t particularly want to spend a poop ton of money on an item I only use when we go to the zoo or what have you. Graco is a trusted brand that’s been around a long time and all of their products I have used I like.
Same system we got! Love it and the versatility. The seat fits my almost 2 year old really well still
I've been using a "bulky" stroller (Graco Modes Pramette travel system) since my 18 month old was born. We even brought him home from the hospital in it. If you love your current stroller and you're able to bring it, I recommend doing so! After you get here and baby is a little older, you can look into getting a smaller more portable stroller for certain types of trips out of the house. Our big stroller has been fantastic for long, daily, leisure walks around our home and for shopping trips. The biggest problem you'll encounter is trying to use the elevators since many of the old people will aggressively rush in front of you or just outright cut you in line, but having to wait for the second or third elevator isn't the end of the world, just an inconvenience. Many store or restaurant interiors are also quite narrow and will not fit a stroller, but you'll get a good feel for the places you can comfortably use your stroller or not around your home.
