You’ll probably end up with more than one stroller coming from someone that has gone through 4 in a year before finally finding what I like. If you want to just pop the car seat on something when doing quick trip look at getting a second small stiller, the Graco ready2jet it’s like $150 and you can just keep it in the car the Graco seats just clip onto it. And then get the Nuna or uppababy for the bigger outing/when they out grow there infant seat (my baby was in a convertible at 6 months) I keep my travel stroller in my car and use my bigger Bob for longer walks and stuff.
I have the Graco one, it folds one handed fine. It's not one of the fun like, self folding ones, but it's pretty easy. Fits in the overhead just fine too.
Need to chime in with some love for Graco products. We were gifted a Graco modes pramette stroller and snugride car seat plus a couple car seat bases. I then bought us a Graco Ready2Jet travel stroller for our plane rides and I love how the car seat can click into the stroller. My baby is on the tall side so I’ve already leveled up and gotten a Graco Turn2Me convertible car seat for my car. I also bought a Graco Premier Modes Merge stroller as our main stroller off of an overstock website so it was like $300 instead of $400, and if I were to do it over again I would have started with that line of travel system (includes the car seat) because it feels really high end for probably half the price of the actual high end brands.
Seconding Graco! Specifically the ready2jet stroller lives in our car and doesn’t take up too much space.
I just unpacked my Ready2Jet and it seems like a great stroller. It’s about 4 lbs lighter than my old stroller and the handle is great for tall people.
Graco snugride (or any graco car seat) and the graco ready2jet. Car seat snaps into stroller w no attachments, stroller folds up small and light, and when baby gets bigger the stroller can be used as a toddler stroller. Also comes with a cup holder. For a diaper bag, either a tote with pouches or a backpack with NO flap over top— you want to be able to open and shut it one handed
OP I’d like to second the ready2jet as someone who relies on the car—I was hauling my mockingbird in and out of the car and it was soooo heavy. The travel stroller is awesome. Bombi also has a lightweight single stroller that can be used from birth without attachments! If you get the car seat strap it can also hold a bucket seat (I know that’s an attachment, but you don’t need to use the car seat if you don’t want to!) it goes up to 55 lbs
I had the bassinet and the car seat connector, and have an infant insert with my cybex now. I LOVE the bassinet. I felt like it was worth it because we also used it as baby’s nighttime bassinet—they sell a stand for it! I really wish I’d shelled out the extra $100 for the single to double because we had to buy a new stroller when we had our second :( I never used the car seat insert. Truthfully, the stroller is heavy to me. I used it all the time for walks, but never put it in the car after a few weeks. We bought a travel stroller compatible w our car seat (graco ready2jet) and that lives in our car. We still use it now for our toddler when running errands and flying. I have an infant insert in my cybex now, and that’s the cheapest item w the most longevity. However, and I can’t speak to the mockingbird one, but I wouldn’t have been comfortable putting my tiny newborn in it from the beginning. I didn’t get it til 3 months in. My official recommendation is the bassinet w stand. I got ours off FB for $100. When baby outgrows it for sleep, we move her to a crib in our room or a pack n play until she is 6 months. If we have a third baby, I’ll probably buy the bassinet for the cybex, even though that one isn’t safe sleep approved. That how much I like the bassinet stroller 😅
I am a graco ready2jet truther 😂 I LOVE that thing. I love that our infant seat clicks in, I love the one handed fold. My tall almost-2yo used it today and has plenty of room. Granted, we always gate check, but we’ve flown US-Japan about 5 times with that thing, plus shorter flights, and it’s never gotten lost or damaged other than the occasional scuff. Which i don’t mind, because it’s cheap! My singular complaint is that the cup holder doesn’t stay on easily when folded. But that could definitely be solved with a little super glue.
