-make sure underneath basket is large and not too far stashed under the stroller -bassinet attachment/ turns into bassinet (baby won’t want to be in the car seat for extended periods plus the car ride and it’s not good for them anyway) - sun shade is large enough and can pull down pretty far over them. My son hates the sun in his eyes. -if you do decide on a travel system make sure the car seat isn’t too inclined. I hated when my son’s head was pretty much sideways in his seat because he was sat up too much. He needed something that laid down more when he was little bitty and couldn’t hold his head up. -when folded, stroller can stand on its wheels without leaning it against something. Nothing more frustrating than trying to balance it outside of the car when repacking it. -cup holder for you is a nice bonus -don’t get graco verb system. Trash. Wish I could just throw it in the river.
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->First and probably only child. I put the cheapest Graco stroller/car seat combo on my registry which was the Graco Verb click connect. The stroller is perfectly fine. Personally, I think spending a ton of money on a stroller is silly. However, I would have chosen a combo with a better car seat because this one is very basic. We were gifted a second Graco car seat which was much nicer than the Graco Verb version.
r/NewParents • Strollers ->I (32 weeks) did a lot of looking at Chicco brand strollers because that was what my sister-in-law recommended, but this Graco stroller compared very closely to Chicco’s $600 stroller and is $250 and ultimately what was purchased for me. Congrats and good luck! https://www.target.com/p/graco-verb-click-connect-travel-system-with-snugride-infant-car-seat-pink-black/-/A-92644331
r/BabyBumps • Baby items are SO expensive my gosh ->I have my larger indie bumbleride jogger for my dirt driveway and road that I keep at home. I purchased a super cheap second hand graco click and connect 4 wheeled stroller for my travel stroller because the infant seat clicks into it. And it folds nice and small for the airport.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Jogging stroller that's good for travel [on] ->Controversial opinion: don’t get 1 do it all stroller. Get several “specialty” strollers, optimized for a specific purpose and buy them used/cheap (unless you have 1 type you want to splurge on). Example: We bought a used graco click-lock that worked with his car seat. It lived in the car. We did some travel, so bought a significantly cheaper knock-off version of the Bugaboo Butterfly. Finally, we wanted a really good jogging stroller so splurged on a Bob All-terrain. Had an adapter for the car seat until he outgrew it. All three of those combined NEW (even if you max out with the BOB All-terrain Pro) come out to less than the Bugaboo Fox 5. And you may not need all of those and/or can buy in stages.
r/daddit • Stroller talk ->So for our first we got an affordable stroller/car seat set from Costco (Graco click and connect, I think) and I would highly suggest something like that to start. It comes with a bucket car seat which just pops on to the stroller so it makes it so easy to transfer the baby from the car to the stroller for outings/walks. Once they’re big enough you can use the stroller without the car seat too. I would not shell out for a fancy or specialized stroller before the baby has been born. I would wait until they’re here and you can see how it’s going with the cheaper one because there’s a good chance it will be good enough for you anyway. It was for us for a long time! But it will depend on your baby and your specific needs/lifestyle whether or not you’ll want or need a more specialized stroller. And your wants/needs/lifestyle are going to change once the baby is here and not necessarily in a way you can predict. You might end up wanting a jogging stroller, needing a good quality umbrella stroller if you take public transit or travel a lot, a double stroller if you end up having a second baby in the next couple years, etc. So yeah unless you have money to burn I would just start with a basic car seat/stroller set and then go from there. Edit to add: if you get a bucket seat/stroller combo I would get it new because of the car seat. If you’re getting just a stroller second hand is great!
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->I've used a few strollers. It really depends on your individual lifestyle! Don't get sucked into buying the most expensive stroller if you wouldn't use it. For us: * Car seat click in stroller (Graco) for when she was an infant. Our main stroller for her first 8 months. So easy to fit in my trunk, lightweight, had a cup holder. I used it for bringing her to Costco, restaurants, quick meetups at the library baby music class with friends. * Pram style high end stroller (Bugaboo) Never used, because my neighborhood isn't super walkable. If I lived in Europe I would probably get more use out of it. She also hated being set down and how open the pram was, so I held her much more often. I ended up reselling it for as much as I got it for! * Travel everyday stroller (Iglesina). Love this! Our main stroller once she turned 8 months. Super compact and fits in an overhead airport bin, easy fold, large storage under the chair. * Jogging stroller (Bob). I run 3ish times a week. The large wheels on this make it nice for bumpy sidewalks and trail walking too. It's big though, so might be hard to fit in the truck of a small car.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Moms, what attracted you to buy that stroller? ->We had a graco with the “click and connect”, being able to pull the car seat out of the base with a lever and drop it in the stroller, then have it lock in was worth its weight in gold. We took it everywhere with both kids, fairs, beach, hiking trails, as well as city/shopping.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->Yes, almost every evening for walks at home. We have the graco click connect or something like that (it was second hand). It’s a bus to push around but it works for us around here. When we’re out and about we use a small single and carry baby in a carrier. (19m and 6m)
r/2under2 • Do you actually use your double stroller?? ->I had the grico click connect stroller when my son turned 1 I upgraded to the wagon
r/NewParents • What kind of/how many strollers do people have? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
