Joie - Ginger & Mint Latch Travel System

I have the Doona and I love it. So convenient to just take the car seat out of the car, press a button and it’s a stroller. No fuss no muss. I also have a Joie Ginger stroller for when I take my baby for walks in the park. It’s worked well for us. I was gifted a a Cybex Libelle travel stroller but haven’t used it yet. Seems cool though.

Ok I’m only 6 weeks in to being a Mom, but I love our Joie Mint Latch and Joie Ginger! We also had a friend give us their City Mini Baby Jogger and I’m excited to use that when my LO can sit up. The Joie Ginger is nice because it can turn into a bassinet and then when baby can sit up it becomes a seat. The Mint latch is baseless and clicks into the Stroller frame. It’s also a great price! Like $500-600 for the whole travel system.

This is what I have and it seems pretty damn flat to me! I’m totally comfortable with my baby napping in it. Half the time that’s the only way I can get a day time nap out of her. Maybe it’s 175 degrees idk but it’s much closer to flat than a lot of others. I would not use it for overnight sleep though!

I have a Joie Ginger which is way, way cheaper. I got it telling myself I could spring for something more expensive down the line if it wasn’t cutting it. tbh, I don’t hate it— I’m able it manage getting it in and out of the car solo if I take the seat off the base. It does have a paramette mode so I’m using it with my newborn. But the mechanisms on it are just very flimsy compared to a higher end stroller (or at least I hope they are, I’d be pissed if my $1K stroller buttons felt this way) So ideally the butterfly 2 would be for a little bit down the line but I’m trying figure out just how far down the line that is! She’s five weeks now sooo at 6 months? A year? Because it also doesnt go parent facing & we don’t have a compatible car seat

So I do like the pramette mode! It’s nice that it’s not a separate piece/purchase and it’s not a whole conversion like it is for the bugaboo fox. That’s thing I probably like the most about it & why I wanted it. At the moment the stroller lives in my car for a few reasons… It doesn’t fold in pramette/rear facing so you either have for take the seat off, turn it & fold it — or what I do, remove & store the seat and then fold and store the the base. Both are super easy for me to manage on my own weight wise but I’m not sure how well I’d manage with them combined on my own. I’m also pretty sick of having to do that before & after every walk I go on; but that might be my own fault for storing it in my car. The Rue (and I think ginger too) are not no-rethread harnesses & im not looking forward to dealing with that. A friend warned me against it but I ignored her in my FTM naiveté. Oh and it’s not washable at all. I literally put a burp cloth under my baby because I’m not sure what I do when a big mess happens. And you can’t put a sheet on the way you can with the Uppababy bassinet. The canopy is meh. I take it on sidewalks for the most part. It does fine. It’s nothing special but does the job. It did ok but not great the one time we took it “off road” I’ve started to see a few of them “in the wild” but yes it’s pretty much only influencers! I think I saw it in target but it was up in a shelf so you could see but not try it. But even if you could, staff in target wouldn’t be able to help you like a baby store. 🙄 Also, i don’t think I have the LX, just the regular ginger? But it has the pramette mode!

Curiously, what do you consider a “full on bassinet.” What does it have to have/not have? I have the Ginger from Joie and I think it does a good job being a bassinet….

We’re also going with the joie ginger for the exact reasons you mentioned. It seems easy to use, grows with baby, and looks just as nice as the other strollers but without the much higher price tag. We’re getting the rue instead just because our car situation is different and we want to prioritize a lightweight carrier. Also OP- Target is where we “tested” the joie too. Ours didn’t have the exact ginger + rue setup we were looking for, and they’re roped to a post so tightly you can’t push it more than a literal inch 🥲 So I feel you there. But they had the color we wanted and it was good to play with it a little and see the quality in person. Besides that we’ve just watched a ton of videos online of people testing them and just using them in every day life.

I’m a FTM but I ordered the Joie Ginger 3-in-1 pramette! The pramette or “lie flat” part of the stroller was most important to me since in my experience with my niece, she would sleep anywhere in that thing! And it converts to a bigger stroller for big kid use :)

We’re going with Joie Ginger and Mint Latch system. Ginger is a full size stroller, but if I lived in a big city, I’d pick the more compact Nutmeg. Mint Latch is a baseless car seat. UK company, sister brand to Nuna and shares some features.

Honestly just the aesthetic of it lol. The features were totally comparable to me and I couldn’t decide at all, so I just went with the one I thought looked better!

I have the mint latch car seat with the Ginger stroller. Was between that and the Hazel, and made my choice based on which one had the color I liked more lol. I have zero complaints and will be sticking with Joie until my kiddo is out of car seats!

The Joie Rue car seat and Ginger Stroller/Travel system. This stroller has a flat bassinet to use when you don’t use the car seat, and that bassinet transforms to be the stroller seat sitting up as they get bigger. 10/10 would recommend. The flat part (in addition to being an actually safe sleep space for infants) works great as a changing table when you’re out or in a place with no changing table in the bathroom. My husband and I rave about it all the time.

Joie travel system is made by the same company as Nuna. They are almost exactly the same thing. I love ours and we saved about a grand getting the Joie instead

I got the Joie Ginger & Mint because it’s exactly what the Nuna is (same company) and just has different quality fabric. I haven’t seen anything that makes the price of the Uppababy worth it to me. For a travel stroller, I recently saw a video from the Baby and kids expo and the Peg Parego city loop stroller and it looked really cool!

I love my Joie travel system. It’s made by the same parent company as Nuna and it’s really nice and sleek looking but much more affordable. We bought it with our completion discount and saved extra money. It’s not a swivel car seat but it’s a latch car seat so it’s very easy to get baby in and out of car. I just bought a diaper bag from Target 🤷‍♀️ I think social media makes you think you need something fancy but really just any diaper bag works

I disagree completely! We have the Joie ginger & mint and having the bassinet attachment got us outside more. We didn’t have to worry about baby falling asleep on walks since bassinets are sleep safe. Plus the bassinet attachment turns into the stroller seat when they are old enough for it so it’s never not gotten use.

I'm personally buying the joie ginger and rue travel system, and to be completely honest I chose it because I couldn't find an extra carseat base for the graco travel system I wanted 🤷🏾‍♀️. I spent months refining my registry and by the time I got to the carseat/Stroller I was just over it and picked one that had good ratings, was cute, had a video on how to put it together, and had an extra carseat base I could buy
