I started getting the Joie nutmeg stroller and honestly it has been great! My reasons to get the nutmeg stroller were: •It had almost full recline (which means I could use it with my newborn) •It’s light weight •One-hand fold Once I began using it I liked it and didn’t think much of it, I would only use it just for light walks. I had the chance to travel internationally and having the Joie nutmeg was a game changer! The ease and convenience made it way easier and on top of that, I took the stroller through different types of terrains and here is how the Joie nutmeg is a game changer! Compared to other compact/travel strollers, the Joie nutmeg’s wheels are bigger which makes it way easier to take around rough terrain and extra suspension in your ride as well as its light weight. I have used other travel strollers like the Cybex coya and it was impossible with it to go through the type of terrains I have gone with my Joie nutmeg. Later on due to my travel, I needed a car seat and I got the Rue one and it has been good so far, comfortable, lightweight and it’s compatible with my stroller, it can be used with and without base which is something I have liked. My humble opinion, I think that getting the Mint latch is good because it doesn’t need a base although the Rue is lighter and can be used without a base which is why I think the Rue is a smarter decision since the car seat will be used for less than 2 years depending on how big your baby is.

I forgot to mention that the cons of Joie: • Rain cover is necessary but the Joie one is almost impossible to get and the generic ones from Amazon aren’t the best fit sometimes. •Joie padding can’t be remove to wash it in the machine! It had to be hand cleaned and left to dry without removing it from the stroller. There are YouTube tutorials showing how to remove the padding and wash it in the machine but it’s a headache and screw drawer is even required. I have had strollers where all the padding can be removed and washed in the machine and is a nice and convenient thing. Other than these 2 things I don’t find any other cons

r/BabyBumpsBudget vs. High End Strollers: has anyone ACTUALLY used both that can help me explain these massive price differences?

We have the joie mint latch with their nutmeg stroller. Really love the baseless carseat and its lightweight. It will definitely get used for upto to 1 year. Got their nutmeg stroller which is lightweight but not always the smoothest in opening. Can attach the carseat right to it easily. Wish the umbrella cover was longer and when it gets abit bumpy like too many leaves it's a little rougher ride. But it lays flat and sits up and will grownwith us but in hindsight probably would've gotten their ginger stroller

r/BabyBumpsRecommendations for a lie-flat infant stroller?

We got the Joie mint car seat with nutmeg stroller. It’s their equivalent to the nuna trv and pipa. The stroller is lie flat and has a bassinet mode which we’ve been using for the past four months. I didn’t like the ginger cause the bassinet and car seat click into the frame and shook a lot. The nutmeg is one whole frame so sturdier. It’s pretty darn light and supposedly fits in an airline overhead compartment. The belt for when you use it as a stroller is not detachable, but we put a thick foot muff and she sleeps great!

I’m not sure where you’d be able to find the more luxury brands but I have the Joie Nutmeg stroller and I saw it at the two Supertargets here. The one at the Grove and the one off 280. I also have the Nuna Pipa Lite car seat (we got from our in laws) but would highly recommend. Can answer questions about Joie or the Nuna car seat.

Highly recommend a Joie travel system - it’s made by the same company as Nuna and the quality is sooooo similar, but a fraction of the cost. They have a bunch of different tiers and mix and match car seat stroller combos where you can pick how many features you want, baseless/base car seats, if it can be double or single. Super customizable! Also, European safety standards.

r/BabyBumpsHow did you figure out what car seat/stroller you wanted?

Our neighbor's kept raving about their Nuna, so I went and looked in person, and wasn't impressed for the price. Next, I went to Target and also didn't love anything, which is when I really got into researching. I decided I wanted a baseless car seat, which really helped narrow down our options. I liked the look of Nuna and discovered Joie is made by the same parent company, which is when I fell in love with the brand, but was reluctant to buy something I hadn't seen in person. I was luckily able to find their nutmeg stroller in target about a month later, which I liked the look/feel of, but was a little more compact than we wanted. From there, it was a decision between their hazel or ginger. We went with the hazel and mint travel system for the bigger wheels, which we thought would be better for the terrain where we walk our dog each day. I'd recommend deciding what features are most important to you and using it to narrow down your search from there. I was so overwhelmed until deciding to go with baseless.

r/BuyingforbabyPurchased a Joie Ginger & Rue Travel System, having second thoughts
5 months ago

Thats a great deal! I say keep it. I debated getting a high end system, but in the end opted for two mid range strollers (and I don’t regret it! I got the chicco corso le, keyfit 35, and a Joie nutmeg) All of that was still cheaper than a high end stroller not to mention all the extra gizmos sold separately.

I have the Joie Nutmeg- it’s from the same parent company as Nuna and it’s super similar but a fraction of the price!

Is it important to you that it's newborn compatible? Are you planning on using a carseat with it? Can it stay in the car when not in use? I personally love Joie and looking at the Nutmeg I think it's a really great option. It's the cheapest that for sure checks all the boxes. I would personally pick a lightweight stroller if I was you and had to do a lot of pushing up hills or taking in and out of the car.

r/BuyingforbabyUppababy vista as your only stroller for infant?

My baby is 5 months old and we just only got a lighter stroller (Joie nutmeg). I love our vista. We walk every day - a couple miles each day and i used it for grocery shopping all summer (the basket is huge). My PP recovery was easy though compared to most and i didn’t find it hard or cumbersome to get it in and out of my midsize suv.

r/BuyingforbabyIs UppaBaby Vista3 really that bulky?

We have a vista v3 and it is easily my favorite and most used baby item in the four months he’s been here. We walked every day this summer for 2-3 miles. We took it to trails and the beach and and gravel and side walks. Everywhere. No issues with anything. The bassinet attachment was essential as he refused to nap anywhere but on walks. I might be a minority but i have 0 complaints about the fold and size. It fits inside the trunk of my midsize suv easily and getting it out and open doesn’t suck to me. It also held a decent amount of groceries in the bottom Basket and i haven’t shopped with a cart since i gave birth. My thoughts might be different if i had a C-section or a more difficult recovery but walking this summer saved my sanity. I was against getting it for the reasons many complain about but my husband insisted and I’m so glad he did. He’s with my mom now during the day since I’m back at work and she has it during the week for walks and also loves it. We bought a Joie nutmeg for times a smaller stroller is easier and weeknight walks. We also love that as a smaller choice.

I have an uppababy vista and a Joie nutmeg. I hate the nutmeg. Wish we got a minu or a better quality travel. It’s fine and does the job but it doesn’t unfold easily at all.
